Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!

Yeah, I didn't watch all of it, but it's a simple enough idea. It's like a lot of trades, that would all be out of business if everybody did things right. I always think of dentists. If everybody had immaculate dental hygiene, then dentists would go out of business, because there wouldn't be enough business left for them to survive.

Also, as far as humanity is concerned, it'd be great if the idea of medicine was for pure good. The idea of curing disease and illness, no matter how big or small, simply because it benefits our race, and therefore at no cost, would be great, but while we remain such a materialistic race, it'll never happen.

The type of medicine described in your second paragraph is the kind that's practiced in countries with socialized medicine. They DO want to cure disease and they DO want people to be healthy because it saves their country a lot of money that way. Greedy immoral american elites actually create tons of propaganda against that kind of system to protect the huge income market they enjoy from health problems in the US.

I'm relying on european scientists to come up with cures for my issues since american ones are only interesting in selling treatments.

So, after I've watched this video, I can finally understand why some of you including Poision Envy, tomatobob, Turtle, kesvalk and DJGrenola use that pony avatar. Are you guys Bronies?

depends on what you consider a "brony" to be. some people (like tbob) consider anyone who is overly-obsessed with this cartoon to be a "brony". Most people just consider anyone that enjoys the show to be a brony.

personally I'm "heavily" involved in the fandom, to an extent. I manage a huge music archive that only contains pony songs, remixes of those songs, and songs based on the show (parodies and such as well). I'm also pretty well known around various pony-centric imageboards/forums (eg: ponychan), usually under different names for different reasons.

Am I obsessed with the show in a creepy way? no. I just like talking to the people that are part of it, and there are things involving it that I spend a fraction of my free time doing. I don't consider any of the ponies to be my "waifus" or anything weird like that. It's just a cartoon to me at the end of the day.

I should also add that I can honestly say I very much dislike a good 70% of the fandom. The ones that go parading it on other people to go watch the show because its leik, teh best EVAR! Also the ones that draw porn, and the ones that make ORIGINAL CHARACTER DO NUT STEEL and act as if they are that character or something.

I liked the fandom a lot more when it was just a handful of people on /co/ talking about what was going on in the episodes and just random shit about the ponies. It's been taken to a much, much deeper and darker level since then. I blame the furries and reddit.

I always have an interest in these things from an animation point of view, as it's always been an interest of mine (despite doing nothing about it, of course). I recall when I was younger that I had some dicks mocking me for watching a cartoon called Mumfie, but I really enjoyed the animation.

That's me, too. I really like animation as an art form but I do not have any of the kind of skills needed to do anything resembling decent with it so I like to just watch animated things that do it very well. The animation is what got me to look at the show in the first place, it just helps that the writing is also pretty good and it's usually pretty funny.

I try to stay out of "fandoms" as a whole and tend to treat "bronies" in the same way as I treat anyone who gives themselves a label based on a thing they enjoy ie "gamers". I think it's a weird thing to do and takes the enjoyment of a given thing too seriously. If you can be reduced to a single word based on liking one thing you ain't living no kind of life.

Also Mumfie's animation is really fluid and nice.

They ARE bronies. Fucking weird, isn't it? I finally broke down and sat through one of the shows. To me it was just another 30 minute toy commercial aimed at 4-10 year old girls. This brony phenomenon is so bizarre that I think it might be another sign of Armageddon. *hides*

Yeah, the show was originally intended for little girls and young women, but ended up, this show is most popular in teenage boys and grown men.

Maybe they are bronies, but just don't want to admit it.

Doesn't really matter whether I consider myself a Brony or not, because that label is still going to be assigned to me as soon as I mention enjoying the show. Not that I mind terribly, since I don't consider it an inherently bad thing to be. Like Poision said, there are creepy aspects of the fandom out there, but hey, welcome to the Internet. As with any other franchise, don't let the fanbase turn you away from the work itself, instead of judging it for yourself on its own merits.
