would be cool if they'd just ship their consoles with usable controllers to begin with.
red chamber dream
they do. have you tried the game pad? it's actually really great. super comfortable.

it's just not particularly good for smash.
Yeah the gamepad is a lot better than I expected it to be. I'll use other methods if they work better for a particular game, true, but it's still a great controller.

i got a sad problem, after pulling a PB in fusion, i tried to practice SA-X but the touchscreen doesn't works, so i tryed to format my wiiu, it works but now the zone of the  Gamepad is really weird, and i can"t do nothing...
isn't there an option to calibrate tht touchscreen? if not you'll probably want to call nintendo customer support
I have twice tried to calibrate a touch screen and both times it ended up making the problem worse to the point where the device was unusable and needed to be returned.  I will never attempt to calibrate a touch screen ever again.
my umbrella goes directly to Bankai
sounds like a defective controller. never had any issues like that.

ahh - so i think i want to pre-order an amiibo. i'm not really interested in the figurines, just being able to try out the functionality. and they're pretty cheap. only thing is i'm not sure which to get ... normally i main toon link in smash, but i want to try something different this time. was thinking samus but she's never been one of my favorites in smash.

maybe fox, or link ...

It doesn't have to be your main,  since you don't actually controll the Amiibo character. Personally I think the Samus one looks great, I might go for it.

heh yeah i read more about it. since you don't play as the character i don't care at all, so i just picked my favorite - pikachu. gotta go with pokemon, the hype for omega ruby is too real. if they're really making amiibos for every smash character, i'll probably pick up a few more in the future as well.

also i was surprised the animal crossing villager sold out so soon. maybe people bought it because they thought it would be unpopular and thus rarer in the future?
or is animal crossing really that popular lol

I think it's more that they expected less of a demand so Amazon ordered fewer from Nintendo. There's probably like 50 Links for every one Villager in the Amazon warehouse.

And considering Amiibos will be able to allegedly be used for multiple games, Pikachu sounds like a good choice. Wouldn't he suprised to see Amiibo support in Alpha/Omega.

ah good point about shortening supplies

and agreed, i'm hoping nintendo announces amiibo support for 3ds. this fall/winter is a good time to own nintendo's shit - amiibo seems like it's going to be pretty fun.

There was talk of some kind of NFC add-on for the 3DS, but maybe that will be sidelined since the New 3DS will have built in NFC.

Kinda wishing Nintendo would quit working on dumb gimmicky shit and just make a damn game.

as if they don't have separate teams for both >_>

if anything this may be the one thing that saves the wii u. if parents get suckered into buying this crap like they do skylanders, we may be getting more wii u games than we otherwise would have
One shall stand, one shall ball.
lol I doubt they end up making many games that actually use this thing. It'll get shoehorned into a couple titles and be forgotten when nobody cares.
red chamber dream
idk, it's looking like at this point they don't have much of a choice ... amiibo needs to sell or the wii u is dead and nintendo loses shitloads of money
One shall stand, one shall ball.
Nointendo's losing shitloads of money regardless of amiibo's sales, I think. It's not going to be the thing that sells people on the Wii U. Things like that and the new 3DS are missing the issue, it's not the lack of features that's hurting their sales it's that nobody wants the games they have available. Amiibo isn't going to make someone not already on board with Smash Bros want to buy it. Amiibo support's not gonna make the new Zelda sell better and isn't going to sell Amiibo unless it's required for the game. If they want people buying this they'll need to put out some kickin rad party game that requires them, and maybe they will do that, but as it stands it just looks like they're throwing out shiny new bells and whistles to avoid addressing the nobody buying games issue.
Isn't MK8 like the only Wii U game to sell multi-millions?
red chamber dream
nintendo is making games as fast as they can though. it's not like they have games ready to go and are just sitting on them. there's no reason they can't do amiibo too.

Pretty sure NSMBU sold a couple million too. But the install base is only around 7 million right now so cracking the million mark is pretty tough for any title.

Trying to think of what really made the GameCube and them sell so hard, and honestly I think it's just because back then there were so many more games. What happened to all those companies? The GBA and GameCube were just shitting out games nonstop, I remember being a kid and walking in and having to choose just one game and there being just endless games. Now I take my little sisters to game stop and there's maybe two games that seem appealing, and in the end they'd rather play minecraft anyway. Honestly I think minecraft has really killed a lot of gaming, as a kid I was never focused on just one game for more than two or three weeks. My sisters and brother haven't wanted a new game other than minecraft for the last 5 months.

Gamecube is their third worst selling console dude, right after Virtual Boy and Wii U.
One shall stand, one shall ball.
Breaking news: Kids have shitty taste.

The Gamecube is about where third parties just gave up on Nintendo. The Wii sold many due to novelty, then the market they rode with the Wii got confused about what Wii U actually was and didn't buy it because they had a Wii they didn't play anymore already.
You can't sell a console on variations of Wii Sports alone apparently. Who knew?
