huh I'll certainly have to look into that then. Is that a pretty easy procedure to do? cause I mean, I've jailbroken just about every ipod and homebrewed pretty much every console, so getting and setting up an unlocked 4S shouldn't be a problem, right?
It was factory unlocked, so I don't need to take any action to unlock this phone. However, I still can't jailbreak this phone as of right now.
Club 27 Goals
so wait, can you just buy them unlocked and all that from somewhere reliable?

yeah, I've never looked into messing with cellphones before so this is all kinda new.

That's correct, you can just buy them unlocked and you never need to worry about getting it locked again by updating. You can only get the unlocked iPhone online, you can find it in this link below: http://store.apple.com/us-hed/browse/home/shop_iphone/family/iphone/iphone4s

Scroll down until you see "Or get iPhone unlocked and contract-free"

Yeah, but it's better that than getting stuck with two years contract which you'll end up paying $1320 US dollars minimum (at&t starting plan) for two years. Even if the contract ends, you're still stuck with the carrier of your choice unless you jailbreak that phone which is impossible at this moment and even if you did, the future update would lock that phone again. Actually, if you ask your carrier nice enough, they might unlock your phone for you, at least, that's what I heard from rumor.

Btw, the screen on the iPhone 4S looks a LOT better than the iPod touch 4G, better contrast and MUCH faster too. I'm pretty happy with this upgrade.

One more thing. The one drawback from t-mobile is that it doesn't support 3G network for iPhone. The only data service I can use from t-mobile is EDGE, also known as 2G. But really, who needs 3G service anyway? 2G is fast enough for me.
Club 27 Goals
yeah, the data plan alone is like, what, $50 per month for a gig or something?

still, not sure if a new cellphone is my first choice to throw an extra $650 at

think the lowest for all carriers is $80

I'm currently using t-mobile prepaid, which I have three options: Pay as you go, pay by the day, or pay by the month. For pay by the day, I use 2 dollars daily plan which gives me unlimited minutes, text, and 2G web for that day. For pay by the month plan (which I've never used one), you can pay as low as $50 for unlimited minutes, text, and first 100MB 4G (useless since I have iPhone), then unlimited 2G. I mostly use pay by the day, but whenever I need internet access anywhere or more talk/text time, I can just switch to pay by the day just for that day (since pay as you go plan doesn't have data plan).

I like prepaid because it gives me flexible budget, unlike contract plan that force me to constantly pay minimum of 50 dollars every month for 2 years and I cannot pause between it.

i just pay more so i don't have to worry about it

Worry about what? Running out of minutes? Btw, what phone do you have?

On the side note, taiga failed to update in real time so I didn't noticed your latest post until I've refreshed it.

Same, except that I don't text much and I use it mostly for internet and ipod purpose. I find that it is extremely useful for email. Beside, if I want to text, I used the third party app called textfree, which allows me to send unlimited text 100% free and also make free call too.

Ah, yes! Facebook/twitter notification is extremely useful too. I mostly use Twitter to talk to the person that appeared in my avatar.

I use it all the time, even when I'm home. Basically, it check email for me so I don't have to. This is pretty handy if you're too lazy to visit the site - type in your user name and password - and then finally get to the email. It also notify me with the sound "ding", so I can read email as soon as I receive it. I also have multiple emails, so that's handy too.

Speaking of notification, it would be nice if someone made a m2k2 app for iPhone with push notification.

yeah it would
