Top Gear is fantastic, even if, like me, you have no interest in cars.
Just hearing Jeremy Clarkson's descriptions of things is enough for me.
Likewise, though I probably like Richard Hammonds best. I guess I tend to sympathize with the short guy. I just wish I'd known about the show when my grandfather was still alive; he'd have loved it, as my mom does. For some reason I'm the only one in the family without even a trace of the car-interest gene.
I won't bother posting a picture of my extremely boring desktop. It's still the solid blue it came with. My other laptop still has the morphball render it's had for two and a half years. I'm not a big fan of change.
This is pretty recent, had to block out most of the folders and stuff (no they weren't nudes and stuff, who would keep that on the desktop? MyPictures ftw). The background is a screen shot taken from crysis but I liked the tropical-nes.
Well just a reminder that Resolution is not really related to screen size when you are talking CRT. You can push some CRTs to insane resolutions (I'm talking 3200x2400) without the monitor itself being more than 17". Its all about the vertical refresh rate since they are analog.
I use a monstrosity of a CRT (16" visible width) but I prefer 1280x960 because it is easier on my eyes. Man this thing weighs a ton...
When I first read that I thought it meant you had a round monitor. Then it hit me, and those old monitors hit hard.
*cough*
So, do you have one of those old ginormous two foot wide monitors? That doesn't really make sense, because the quality of that image is pretty good.
The monitor was given to me buy an Uncle who would 'merchant' on Ebay. He had 3 of them, and for some reason one of them would kind of smear the text on the screen. He dropped off the one that had the smeared text at my house to see what I would think of it. I plugged it in and it worked fine. I went on amazon and searched the model and such and found that it was over 1,800$ (not counting shipping, which must be an ASS-load since this thing is 92 lbs).
And yeah the quality is really good and I'm surprised at it. Only con about the monitor (other then the weight) is it has a tiny scratch in the glass that is about: ..... big (yes I used that line of periods to measure it because I'm not sure how small it is. It's in the top left corner though so it doesn't make much of a difference.
The monitor also rolled down the driveway, breaking off it's protective plastic case, which was never put back on... >.<
You do know that the size of the scratch would be far easier to understand if you measured it using inches or centimeters or feet, depending on how big it is, right? Since not everyone uses the same screen resolution, the size that you measured with periods seems smaller to people with higher resolutions, and bigger to people with lower resolutions. However, judging by the size of your desktop icons, it seems like we have the same screen resolution, so I have a good idea of how long the scratch is. Does a third of an inch sound about right?
EDIT: I just remembered that that image is scaled down. How much is it scaled down?Or better yet, give me your screen resolution. Just measure the scratch.
Assuming iPod headphone jacks are the same size as normal headphone jacks, and that you're only talking about the metal part, that's a quarter of an inch. My headphone jack is almost exactly half an inch.
