I don't know I kinda really don't like those kinds of episodes to be honest. I know this show has a good track record with plot device staples but I'd rather there not be another of those episodes around.

So it looks like Season 2 could possibly maybe probably be coming out next month. (Acorrding to Seth on EquestriaDaily)

Release date isn't confirmed, but the title and synposis for Episode 1 has been released (spoilered in case you guys want to be surprised). Air Date: (Possibly) September 17th.
Episode 1: The Return of Harmony
Discord escapes from his stone prison and Twilight and her friends act quickly to find the Elements of Harmony to stop him.

My opinion:
so I guess it miiiiight be cool or whatever? Could be turned into a two parter. Kinda hoping it won't turn into the same thing that happened with season 1, but it sounds like thats whats going to happen. Idk, I guess we'll see.

Eeeehhhhh, kinda hoping the elements of harmony would just stay gone. Seems weird to suddenly bring that stuff back after just straight up ignoring them after the pilot, and the silly one off episodes worked so much better than the first two that breaking up what they had going with that seems like a poor choice. The ponies really don't need to be fighting evil.

well, yes and no, see the difference between then and now is that Lauren Faust isn't writing the pilot episode(s) this time. This time the writers are staying the same through the season, unlike in season one where Faust wrote the first two episodes and then other people wrote the others. Hopefully what this will mean is more consistency or whatever between the pilot and the rest of the episodes. Perhaps not a whole subplot, but we can be pretty damn sure there won't be another situation in this season like there was with Luna in the first. No big important character introduced and then ever seen again.

But yeah it's impossible to say just from knowing the synopsis. either way, I'm going to make sure not to have any plans on the day it airs :P

Well, Faust's not being nearly as heavily involved with the show is its own issue that may not be a good thing.

Actually, come to think of it, I don't think we get the Hub here.  Are the episodes on Hulu the day after or something?  Or will I have to wait for someone to upload to YouTube?

Guess I'd rather the consistency start with what was established ep 3 on not jumping back to ep 2.

Well if the pilot was her thing then I think I prefer the people who wrote the rest of the season having more say, actually.

I think Faust did a fantastic job at creating the characters and coming up with the whole idea of FiM and how everything should work. But, with that being said, The episodes she worked on were my least favorite, so now that all the characters and everything have been established I don't think anything bad could come out of her leaving.


Oh, and one of the animators confirmed that the first two episodes WILL be a two-parter, similar to Season 1's pilot.

Well, that's going to happen.

Since season 2, apparently, might not be that far off, here's how we're going to do this when it actually starts airing:

Details about an episode are to be considered spoilers and shall be marked as such until the next episode has aired. (so if you want to go back and edit out your spoiler tags after the next episode has aired you can totally do that)

I mean more in like an "Oh man *plot stuff*" kind of sense, we already kinda stayed vague on episode details until everyone here had seen it last season (all two of us). But having long spoiler threads cause of actual plot details would be weird as shit.

yeah it should be easy enough to just not talk about details until it finishes. Stuff like Pinkie going crazy in Party of One wasn't talked about until after I knew you guys had seen it.


Oh, I was thinking, when we get a for-sure air date for episode 1 we should totally watch it in a synctube (since I don't think you guys have the Hub) TOGETHER in this thread. Since taiga forum updates posts automatically we can talk about it in REAL TIME and it'd be super awesome.

Also, someone who apparently works as a small voice actor posted a ton of "spoilers" on his tumblr about season 2. I tried really really hard to not read them but I caved, and was extremely disappointed since they weren't spoilers at all. All he said was that the background ponies were going to have voices again, everyone's favorite characters were going to show up again, and that Derpy will have a larger focus. So pretty much everything we've talked about already, except everyone is jizzing themselves over it since it's "official" now. (I'd hardly consider a quickly made tumblr account official, but whatever).
