you just like pony pokey because that when fluttershy snap and becomes a evil mastermind...
Fluttershy's part in it is the funniest, but I actually like it because it ties into everything that's happening at that point in the episode. It's a good montage song.
seriously, i am looking through the torrent file, and what the heck is "avast the fluttershy ass"
this guy must have some mental problems...
The original song by Renard is called "Avast your ass!". It has since then been remixed with every character from every cartoon ever. Except rainbow Dash and Rarity, but my INSIDE SOURCES tell me those should pop up soon ;)
oh neat, one of the animators said that the gray rainbow dash is in the two-part opener for Season 2. I was kinda hoping that it would be it's own RBD-centric episode, but perhaps Discord will actually do something more than make spooky fog and falling rocks!
Incoming wall of text: I was thinking earlier today in English that starting off each season with these two-part actiony-style openers isn't actually that bad of a thing. Sure to someone new it gives them the wrong idea, and it's totally different than the rest of the episodes, but yet I think they still add a ton of diversity to all the fan-stuff BECAUSE of that difference. If the opener of season 1 didn't exist and was just slice-of-life like the rest, then there would be a lot less "deep" or even "dark" style fics, pictures, and music (Luna inspired a TON of fan songs, and yet she hardly has any screen time at all, but it was due to her background and the story that inspired people). To the people though that aren't into fics or the fan art it wouldn't mean as much, but having that POSSIBILITY of a really big fantasy backstory about how Equestria was made, the two princess sisters controlling the world, and all this potential for having a fantasy story in this show makes the fan-work far more enjoyable. It's the idea that the stories and fanart actually being "realistic" in the pony world that makes them feel good/enjoyable to us. If for example, Pinkamina style pinkie pie never existed in the show, none of those creepy fanart pictures would mean anything since it would just be silly and unreal for that to be possible. But since we know that she CAN go crazy like that, it makes those fan-created things more emotional in a way since it feels like the real character. It's also similar to how the majority of people hate it when fanart or fanfic or whathaveyou is created and the characters are acting completely out of character (see: any generic OC self-insert fanfic) (this also has a LOT to do with the fact that the characters are so well developed in the show, but that's another topic for another thread). The fact that people write epic (with it's true definition) fanfiction based solely around the backstory involving Celestia, Luna, Nightmare moon and all the things relating to that, and have it seem JUST AS realistic as a fanfic where Pinkie throws a party with everyone having fun, and Celestia showing up and eating all the cupcakes, shows that we can have some serious diversity to work with. And just looking at all the fanfic and fanart shows that we DO totally use that diversity, which plays a huge part in this fandom being totally amazing. Being able to portray any kind of emotion and having it seem realistic to the show means that the stuff the fanbase creates can appeal to literally anyone, and it honestly does. There's something in here that can be enjoyed by anyone, and I believe that is partly why it's as popular as it is.
Having realized that the pilot episodes contributed this much to the fandom (maybe I'm crazy though) makes me glad they were created, even though I still tell every one of my friends to skip them when first starting to get a better idea of what the show is actually like. I also think it was a far far better move to start off the season with them rather than ending the season with them, since it would just feel like a cheap twist. Having said that, I am looking forward to the two pilot episodes of season 2 FAR more now and just can't wait to see what the fans do with them.

I don't know about that, Pinkie went "Go into isolation and talk to new 'friends' that want her around" crazy, not kidnap and murder everyone while making out with Scoots crazy. I see what you're saying, but that's a whole different brand of nuts we're working with.

What thread would that be? If ponies are even tangentially involved this seems like the thread for it. :v
That's a good point about starting the season with that kind of episode, I would have been a lot less happy with the finale if it was switched with the pilot in terms of tone.
Also gonna have to modify my earlier statement that September was looking to be "pretty okay". Forgot my football team of choice is still unwatchably bad and that I should be thankful that they don't get on tv much anymore. Downgraded to normal okay. Hope those Ponies can make up the difference.

yeah I was thinking more that since FiM is a kids show they'd HAVE to keep the crazyness down low. I don't think they'd make her a murdering lesbian filly-fooler if they didn't have restrictions, but I think they'd try for a little more. And we only saw her like that after a day, if she was like that for a longer period of time with a perhaps more serious situation it could be possible to put her into a dark/evil state.

whoops. I originally typed that up as an opening post for a thread on ponychan, but then decided to just keep it here and didn't catch that when I was editing it again. I think I've made it clear in here though that the animators do a truly fantastic job at showing body language and emotion through their, well, bodies and faces. If the characters feel very distinct and consistent (to an extent) then it just makes the entire show or anything else feel a lot more solid. This is why fanfics are very hit-or-miss with me at least since characters acting out of character is totally annoying.

according to the animators and Daniel Ingram, the two pilot episodes for Season 2 were actually completed by the time Season 1 ended, so that's what originally got me thinking about it. When the show does come to it's final close, I hope they make it as true to it's totally normal-episode self and don't try to go out with a "TOTALLY AWESOME" grand finale episode. It can have a song, but it will HAVE to be a mellow or down song. Oh, and Pinkie will have to pull apart the black closing thing just as it's closing, or do the typical "wait til the screen goes black and silent and then walk into view", and she'll need to say something like "Thanks for watching everybody, it's been fun!" and then fade to a still picture of the mane cast, maybe more if they can fit the other ponies, all waving bye. Fade to black, roll credits, but without an outro song. That would be the ending it deserves.
My friend really didn't like that episode since he said the morale was pretty much "whine and you get your way" and that "little girls whine enough as it is".
Anyway, and now time for something a little different:
My friend really didn't like that episode since he said the morale was pretty much "whine and you get your way" and that "little girls whine enough as it is".
The moral is stated outright at the end of each episode, how did he manage to get it wrong?
so today I was eating lunch with some friends and stuff, and one of the girls was like "hey here my mom bought this for you or something" and hands me this big MLP FiM coloring book. Looks like it hasn't been opened or anything, and it's Gen 4 so it's at least relevant. My second desk literally can't have anymore pony stuff on it though ever since I got the poster and Twilight pillow :/
