stuck after speedbooster. Don't feel like using frame advance to charge up.

At no point in this hack do you need frame advance.

sure looks like it. There is a red gate on one side, and speed blocks on the other. I can't go back the way I came.

There is a way to get to the other side of the red gate within the area you are stuck.

Yes there is, but the path won't show up with bombs...

Sorry, this hack can be mean in spots.

Where the hell do you get missiles? Everywhere I go is blocked by red gates ._.

Above the castle where it connects with the mountain, there is a place you can shoot through.

Allright, finish time was 00:16. I'm gonna TAS this when I find the time.

Thanks for playing. If you're planning on a TAS someday for it, I'd gladly give you the finished version (about 95% done). It incorporates some more item searching to obtain certain measures demanded in the end to get to the map. Better weather effects, diff music, crateria rename, etc etc etc. But if you're already getting accustomed to speeding through this, perhaps it wouldn't be the best idea.

Edit: Here is the map of the complete version -
I'm playing through version 3 right now (just got power bombs).  I love how packed with stuff it is!  It has the feeling of exploration without the tedium of a bigger map.

A two or three room hack with all of the items would be so awesome.

Stuffs. Yar.
Hey. Having beaten your previous versions, I figured that I could do 1.3 without much of a problem... Unfortunately, I was wrong.

I got past the crumbling grapple block after the speedbooster, but I can't seem to figure out how to open the gate... it appears to be surrounded by solid blocks, and I can't seem to find another way around...

Knowing me, the solution's insanely obvious, though. :P

EDIT: Rule of Forum Posting again... :P

Don't beleive so, the chozodian shrine has been upgraded, and three new crucial items are hidden. as for the horizontal shinespark to the supers, well, let's just say the surface is gone. hehe

The only difference I can see is that you changed one of the doors from red to blue. The one leading to the lower elevator shaft.

The map doesn't show PLMs. Doors are the same.

FINAL IPS:

It took me a long time but I'm finally satisfied with this hack. Thanks for bearing with all the versions, if you've already played them, this newer edition will mess with you.

*additional items, secrets, puzzles, final message, and continuity pathways have been added.
Wow. I don't think my noobie hack can compete with this.  Embarassed

Okay, so I've played every version of this hack, and all I can say is that each one has made me hate spikes more and more.

I'm sorry about that mate. Even I get fed up with the path to speedbooster. But after beta testing all my versions 50 times over, I became so accustomed to it that I could swiftly hop/bomb around them. When I get around to making a larger hack, I will take note and reduce the spike count. heh. Thanks for playing all the versions.

Additional: Since too many bugs arose by trying to put enemies in the room, I had to resort to using spikes. This was to be a dangerous mission, and exploration comes with a price. The Chozo protection needed for containing their databanks of knowledge must be protected from the space pirates.

There are many gates. The red gate in Chozo HQ Outpost? (I love having area names for one room, it's so ridiculously fun!)

I really like the overall design. You know, this reminds me of the "mini map" of Zebes in the SM instruction booklet. (http://mdb.classicgaming.gamespy.com/sm/smart_zebesmap.jpg)

Sort of like the whole planet cave system in microcausm. Maybe as an idea for your full hack, you can actually turn each of these areas into a full fledged one, much the same way as the "mini map" in the instruction booklet shows the general concepts each area is based on and their theme, but not the details of the passageways they contain.

Interesting you say that, those were my thoughts exactly. I didn't just want this to be a silly experiment. I wanted to create a true one room hack with it's own subworlds, that would take at least 20-30 minutes to beat. That was no easy feat (hence the constant updates..)

The wave beam was removed, there is another way to that gate through the exit of the cathedral. The wave beam spoiled too many hidden items.

I stoped playing when I got to a missile gate with no missiles and got stuck (after speed mockball). I've tried to like this hack, but I just can't. I needed missiles for a gate that took forever to get past, amoung other things.
