In Super Metroid's case, yes, the Japanese and American versions are the same. However, other games do have different (J) and (U) versions.
How can u tell if its headered or not. Never really bothered with it before..

Breathe in the Future, Breathe out the Past
I've done alot more work on this hack, I guess I'm working on 1.3 but you've all played it enough to be fed up with another shot at it. I've added a few difficult touches and made it more aethetic, also gave alot of work on slopes so you'll never have that choppy movement while walking on anything.

Never mind.  I got it.  It seems I needed
wave beam
first.

Finished the hack, too.  What was
spazer
for?

Nice job, DMantra!  I like short hacks like this.

Thanks for playing! The spazer is for convenience I guess. As for the spazer speed and grapple bombs, well I'm proud to say my hack has exclusive items!

The rework has alot of deformed chozo statues, a new message at the end, and some more puzzles. Won't be done for a bit though.

Alright cool, why is the IPS link gone though?  Just because you're working on a new version doesn't mean you should take the previous link down...

Somewhere in this thread has the ips link to v1.2
I just feel that the more who play this game will be unmotivated to give it another go once 1.3 is done.

Hey Dmantra, I liked your idea of a one room hack, and I'm wondering if you would let me use your idea for my own hack. Thanks :D

Also, would you by chance know how to make a crumbling grapple block?

Nice, I'm hoping to see more one room hacks, I think they're fun and having a limit such as one room makes you push the boundaries to extend playtime. As for my hack, the one up right now is garbage compared to all the hours I've added to it. I was thinking about doing a one room hack for some of the main graphic sets.

to make a crumbling grapple block, check the BTS menu cause you're in the clipboard menu, there should be a crumbling grapple icon, drag it over the grapple block. Make sure you know if you want it to respawn or not

Well, after many hours of redesigning, I'm proud to say that v1.3 is complete. I've checked for bugs and fixed as many as I could find. As the hack evolved, as did the silly story I made for the first one. This is just a routine mission that takes place after M2 now.

Feedback would be greatly appreciated and may motivate me to invest time into a full hack.

Known Bugs:
*some items have appearence of others
*ship still looks messed up

Due to the lack of space, my ideas had to be condensed, so if you think the map may look convoluted, just imagine the room to have it's own sectors/areas as if it were an entire map. Those of you who are not fond of morph ball related finesse, this may annoy you in spots. The difficulty is high considering the advice I've been given not to make things too difficult (for a broader audience). This hack is for experienced players, so you guys will get a kick out of a few spots.

Those of you who have already played the first two versions, this will still provide a fresh experience.

Additional: After you recieve the message, go back to your ship and save. Then check on the main menu what the time is.
10-15m - PRO

I'd like to see a TAS for this, I'm not good at making them.
After giving me a kick in the teeth, you hack was conquered. First time through it took about 30 minutes though.

Theres one spot you might want to change:
On the climb up to the morphball path, you have a one space thin wall jump area with spikes on one side. Generally, thats impossible to pass, but with some manipulation and some slowdown, I managed to wall jump through while invincible from the spikes, it was very very hard and frustrating.

I don't quite follow which area that is. upper left, upper right, lower left, lower right? I haven't experienced any difficulties.
Thanks for playing. Try for under 10 minutes if that's your forte lol.
its upper right,

you have to grapple twice, the theres a small gap in the ceiling, one wall is crateria landscape, the other is WS terrace. The WS terrace has spikes, and its really hard to walljump through the gap.

Ahh, sorry about that. I practiced that area and get it done perfectly everytime now. I guess savestating often is a good idea in this hack. I was sorta testing myself to see if even I could do some things really well.
I have no clue what to get next after Speed Booster.  Everything seems to require everything else to get the rest of the upgrades.  What should I be finding next?

Edit: I seem to be infatuated with making this hack even better. I've extended the play time by at least another 5-10 minutes (and not through tedious morph mazes that takes time (we all know those are annoying), just areas that you have to go back to to gain more items requires to make it to the map station. I'm excited to see how bolognab's one room will turn out. It would be interesting to have a few more one room hacks, zip up all the ips files and make it available in the mini hack section of the hack list. Just a thought..

stuck after speedbooster. Don't feel like using frame advance to charge up.

At no point in this hack do you need frame advance.
I'd like to see you completely change the room now by now.  You've had a lot of experience with the one room hacking now and I'd like to see a new one-room.  Maybe change the tileset and change the item order and placement.

I finished the game.  Turns out I DID have enough space for a Speed Boost in the part near the map station.  I had thought I didn't and had given up for a moment.

Also:
I wonder how many people found Spring Ball?  That was cleverly hidden.

sure looks like it. There is a red gate on one side, and speed blocks on the other. I can't go back the way I came.

Hehe. It didn't really come in handy much, was only a minor convenience to have, v1.4 has an x-ray there instead, and it will serve an important purpose to find more cleverly hidden items that you will need for a CF to complete the map room area. Unfortunately, my hack is a bit messed due to all the work I've done..

There is a way to get to the other side of the red gate within the area you are stuck.
