Do you have photoshop? You can just use the eraser to get rid of all the white, and save it as a png so it stays transparent.

Heres one with a shadow, a bit more clean, but if you want to go ahead and do it your way that's totally fine. Just thought I'd post this one anyway.

I'll probably use this version. There aren't any fancy filters or effects on it, but it's still fine IMO.
