I've even got that old one for Super, which I think I bought from Nintendo's site itself back when they used to sell such things. Still useful for me to this day, but that's more for the hacking side of things than for the game itself. (Although it did help me pinpoint that one missing expansion I somehow bypassed on the 100% run I did before Other M came out.)

i had, a long time ago, a official guide book for breath of fire 3...

the thing was the size of the master's book of GURPS (wich i have, too)
but then i discovered game faqs, and well, it's way better, at least for me...
I have several for Super, one of which is a complete piece of garbage: 'Unauthorized Secrets'.

I like to go fast!
Question: Say,  if you can skip all the items on normal and get a 0%.  Would it be any different from playing though on hard?  If I recall, Paraxade said that there're two items that you have to pick up when do a low % run on normal.  If it were possible to skip them,  would it just be like playing though on hard?  I wasn't sure where to post this question,  I hope here is fine.
Only difference I can think of is the fact that you wouldn't immediately die if your health is dropped to zero. Normal lets you survive any attack down to 1 energy and you need to take one more shot to die, where on hard the attacks will kill you outright if you don't have enough energy.

I'm just trying to figure out if there is any reason to attempt to getting the low % run on normal,  down to 0%.  If in fact Team Ninja just destroyed any reason to do so.  I love hard mode,  don't get me wrong.  We've just always tried to do the lowest % runs on all the other Metroid games.
Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
I'd say give it a go, and be the 0% pioneer! aiwebs_011

But hard mode doesn't let you fight Phantoon, whereas a low% run would.
I like to go fast!
That is true Hitaka. That's something that I missed when playing through hard mode.  The roly polys will be a pain. The best tactic I've found for them is just using missiles. With ten that might be very difficult.

You mean those green rolling guys? I find the easiest way to kill them is Overblast them to stun them, then lethal strike.
Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
Yeah, I just jump on them, blast then, and once they're stunned, lethal strike them.
I like to go fast!
Huh.  Swear I've tried that.  Thanks for the info guys.  I'll give it another go.

of course, this before you get screw attack, after getting screw attack, you just screw everything that moves

the guys who thought about SA shoud've been high... a super attack that makes you invincible and gives you more movement freedom?

why not just call it cheating attack?

the pun was intended...

see? they even named it the "screw attack" i am sure they were high...

I never could figure out the name. Something like "Buzzsaw" would make more sense.

anything would make more sense...

even "imuno destruction attack" would...
my umbrella goes directly to Bankai
there's a reason SA is usually among the last items you get.

also, there's some enemies that don't die inmediately from it.

It's probably a translation issue (the NES era wasn't known for great Japanese-to-English dialogue). Anyone know what the original Japanese name of Screw Attack is?

It makes sense enough to me, in that from the side Samus would be circling like a screw, or a corkscrew.
That, or that nearly enemy that touches it is, well... screwed! :P
Can you go to the elevator fight room immediately after getting Wave Beam? Maybe there's a way to shoot the switch behind the glass from there by wall jumping with a charge and quickly switching to FPV.
I doubt that's possible for a couple of reasons:  #1, there's a solid floor there, and #2, the game doesn't seem to recognize shots against switches if you're not in first person/locked-on/standing straight in front of it.  I'll give it a shot, though.
