Really basic thing, dunno if anyone else tried it.
Charge a power bomb, and return to standing mode. You immediately fire a charge beam. Charge a Beam shot, and morph to ball mode, you drop 5 bombs around you.
I have a few ideas in mind for places to check out, but I'm guessing that nothing is going to come from them once I finally do get back to them once I start my Hard mode run. Even if we manage to pull something off, most of the major items are used against bosses so it may not even matter anyway.
I can think of a lot of places where something seems plausible, depending on what glitches end up being found. off the top of my head, getting up one room in biosphere without grapple which would skip a large chunk of the sector, crossing the water tank in cryosphere without emptying the tank, getting past the seeker door in cryosphere without seekers, getting to the latter half of Pyrosphere without grapple, etc; don't have a way to do any of those but it's at least plausible that there could be something because this game is full of backtracking and detours.
I'm not saying that there will definitely be anything found in those spots, but when there are so many spots like that across the whole game I don't see why everyone is so convinced that the game won't be broken when it came out yesterday. Give it time.
(also for that matter, I thought the advantage of having an entire site devoted to sequence breaking was discussing it didn't have to be confined to one thread, but ok)
But yeah, I don't think anyone would discourage others from posting more specific threads, well some people might but they are probably dumb. I'd very much prefer that.
especially since we're running taiga forum i encourage multiple threads if that's what users want to do. might even be cool for some people to set up static threads for all their videos, with the latest in the first post or something.
eh, good to have somewhere to throw random information i guess...
I'm very confused by the ingame timer. I started a new file, went through training, saved at my ship immediately when I reached the bottle ship. In real time this took about 5 minutes. The timer says my time is 00:12:17. So wtf. :/

Yeah, that's more than I had thought of when I posted. The two biggest ones I had in mind are trying to IBJ over that section in Biosphere and trying to cross the lava lake in Pyrosphere. (As far the second one goes I don't know if they have an invisible wall that disappears when you get SJ/SA or not)
I know that you have time to refill your energy in low health with no varia in some area with lava. As for in the lava I don't know if you have enough of time.

edit: prolly goes better in the other thread. :/
oh, so it does add cutscene time even if you skip them like i initially thought? that sucks.
If you set a bomb, then jump so that it detonates when you're in midair, you'll get a bit of a higher jump out of it. Dunno if anyone else has noticed this, but I've found a few areas where this doesn't seem to be what the designers intended.
Well, either way, I'd imagine all that's going to come of anything is just some speed tricks. Power ups are all tied to story events, so early anything is completely out of the question.
Yeah, all the little bomb jump boost did was allow me to avoid running through an area all over again - upgrade was as the end of a morph ball tunnel with a pitfall right before the item. I'd assume that I was supposed to go back to the start of the tunnel and make sure I avoided the pit, but the higher jump let me get back up to the upgrade. (apologies for confuddled English - about to go to bed after reading about 60 pages on late-19th century Japan).

I doubt that's the case since some story events are probably set to trigger the first time you reach certain areas. Obviously not going to work for every item, but eg. ice beam or something, could work.
I noticed the bomb jump ceiling as well, but I'm pretty sure I came close to getting up to the ledge in Bio when I quickly tried it as I was running around for 100%.
if they were going to put that fake ceiling to IBJ, might as well have used Fusion's bomb jumps and save all the hassle.
also, never say never. even Wind Waker got some massive SBs eventually so there's a chance for something here. i'm placing my bets on bypassing the seeker door.
