I think it's a safe bet to say that plasma beam will be in this game.  I wonder if they will make it blue-green like the one from super or if they will make it red like the prime games.  I hope it's the former, since that one was way cooler.  Why call it plasma when it's basically just fire.

I think the humour is already there, in issuing a 'warning' to a member who's been here for a fair few years. Very Happy  Unless BioSpark was confoozed by the ol' switcheroo..?
I was thinking years ago how cool it would be to switch from side-scrolling to fully functional first person view at will, and they almost fulfilled my wish.  I really don't see the benefit of not making use of the nunchuk.

Hmm the idea of switching at will sounds pretty cool, never thought about it before.  You can do that in Rogue Squadron, but it doesn't really serve much purpose other than personal preference.
I'm also a little concerned that they refuse to use the nunchuck.  Nintendo is genius when it comes to revolutionary rethinking of control schemes, so I'm not TOO worried about it.
The only reason it really bothers me is because it means you won't be able to walk while in first-person mode.  I've been playing a lot of Resident Evil lately, so I'm SICK of not being able to walk and shoot.
Is that confirmed to be true?
That's what I'm also expecting. How else do you imagine this to work?
I'm almost positive, yeah.  And anyway, I don't really see how you could, using only the Wiimote.
I honestly have no idea how it works, was just asking.
Pretty sure either Nintendo themselves or one of the gaming news sites have mentioned before that you can't move in first person. It's mostly for using missiles (or being precise with the beams) and scanning the environment from what I understand.
Indie Lover
i am more concerned with the enviroments of the game, now that is almost sure that the entire game will be inside the ship... this means that the env. will be like in fusion? i didn't liked the areas of fusion...
red chamber dream
i thought fusion's environment gimmick was pretty cool. but it wouldn't be cool a second time ...
I thought the idea of fusions environment allowed for the most creative leeway in terms of variety.  The style or look of the game (bright colors, etc) was what I thought most people didn't care for.  They wouldn't be limited by hardware this time and based on what we've seen environments may even change before your eyes. The environments are looking pretty awesome to me.  Everything from jungle-like to sterile like a gymnasium.  Gonna be cool.
One shall stand, one shall ball.
Well it's certainly easier to hamstring the player by sectioning off different environments like Fusion did, but I very much prefer wandering around on a planet and stumbling into a new area that I probably can't play in yet, at least that lets you pretend you're exploring.
I'm really hoping they add the one single thing that would have made prime's controls much better: a quick 180 degree turn around maneuver (think RE).

They can do the same with some futuristic science lab too, just depends on wether they want to take the 'fuck-you I'm adam' route again.
One shall stand, one shall ball.
Oh no I doubt they'd ever do that agai-

goddammit
