In 0-00 you had to aim into the water to get the Hive Mecha scan. I'm sure I'm not the only one who consistently missed that one before I knew where it was.
red chamber dream
yeah and i guess it doesn't help that it's the second boss so most people might not realize you're even supposed to scan it anyway.
Metroid: Other M: The Movie

MGS3 did it already tho

Metroid Gear Solid? Sounds good, probably won't be. If they're going to this much trouble to show off the story and cutscenes, they must be quite good.
red chamber dream
not sure where you're getting that logic from.
If they care enough to edit the cutscenes into a movie, they must think the story and dialogue is good enough to warrant it. Of course, whether I think that remains to be seen.

I wonder if they'll have a Collector's Edition that comes with a bucket of popcorn and a two liter soda.

Theater Mode is gonna be under Hard Mode on the difficulty selection screen.

I thought about throwing that in, but decided it was too light-hearted. This is serious, guys. Like 'woah'.
Don't tell me they went there.

A past love interest? Revealed to players through a picture? Really? Are they trying to make this the most stereotypical game-with-a-story ever?

I think I'll just skip every single cutscene there is in this game

Hahaha yeah, like they'd allow that. Nice try buddy but you'll be suffering just like the rest of us and you'll like it.

I'm gonna mash those buttons so hard anyway Sad

if every cutscene isn't skippable, isn't speedrunning going to be a pain? Along with watching them, lol.

lol @ Adam standing in the background looking depressed. Talk about a miserable photobomb.

Could be like the other games - you have to watch them unless you've already seen them, and if you have then you can skip. They're really putting a lot of emphasis on the story so i would not be surprised at all if they forced you to watch the cutscenes at least once.
Just saw a video of somebody going through that early cutscene where Samus meets Adam and the other federation soliders courtesy of Comic-Con. It looks like they're going to try and get most of them to happen seemlessly, since it triggered once Samus passed through a certain door. (And forced the player into first person mode as she ran through the room before meeting them.)

Unfortunately, the video is once again making me wonder how good/bad the voice acting is going to be in the final version. Every new video I see seems to change my opinion on it as a whole. It feels really inconsistent, especially with Samus herself. I'll put the video link here anyway for anyone who's interested.

lol no way
Yo. At 1:11 on that video there's a brief flash of this text, I was able to pause on, and I quote:
"The threat of Metroids and Space Pirates had seemingly disappeared from galactic society...
Samus recieves a distress call known as a 'Baby's Cry' while flying through space.
Something stirs within her, and Samus sets out for the distress call's source, a decommissioned facility called the BOTTLE SHIP."
Okay, so the tone of the writing is sort of like the way the guy says, "The last metroid is in captivity etc...", but I really hope that's just text to introduce the premise to players at the convention.
Samus' voice acting sounds so unnatural, almost as if she doesn't know how to talk.
Which sorta makes sense, since she's usually mute and all.

I wonder if she's going to start making noises now when she fires weapons and stuff. Like a typical JRPG, when she charges her beam fully and shoots it, she'll yell something. Or anytime she takes damage she'll make girly grunting noises and stuff like that.
I like turtles.

That's been around since Super Metroid.
Club 27 Goals
yeah she's made noises, but I was thinking more like the typical Japanese girl in a video game getting hit by a weak mob and making little screechy noises.

That would be AWESOME.
That would be a pain in the ears.
my umbrella goes directly to Bankai
didn't the prime series prove they could have samus make noises that sounded like a woman but not high pitched and crap?

One shall stand, one shall ball.
Retro is not Japanese, this makes a tremendous difference.

They also had Jennifer Hale doing the voice, so that helps.
