And yeah I'm wondering about him being Houston as well. That's the only person I can think of who we'd "remember" unless it's a random person from ingame that you meet. Though why they would put that in the trailer makes no sense.
I think that Random Black Guy is actually Random Dead Guy from Super Metroid, that is the one found dead outside Kraid's room. Perhaps in this game the story of how someone could get killed by an eye door will finally unfold.
Well I don't think we're going to get much out of the trailer so it's all up to our speculation now. I just went through it frame-by-frame looking for anything suspicious that we could have missed before and found nothing.
The other big speculation is who is that woman at the end. Some think it's Samus but Samus is in the suit. That's leading to cloning theories and alternate universes and more.
I suppose an alternate reality is as likely a theory as any, especially since they played up the "mysteriousness" in that scene. I think it would make for a potentially interesting story, but VERY easily cliched.
Personally I'm looking forward to seeing more about Adam.

once again, the black person might get killed first just like all movies.... this upsets me
As for the other woman, given the "Other M" <-> "MOther" <-> "M:OM" thing, I want Samus's parents to hold a role, along with the Mother Brain. As such, I wonder if this woman is a phantom or imagination figment or somesuch. When Cpadolf said (however sarcastically) RBG was the guy killed in Super, I wonder if all these past people could be haunting her, either for real or in her mind. I'unno, I just dunno. It'd be interesting, I think, to find out.
-I hope Samus stays silent (unless Jennifer Hale pulls something good out of the bag) -Kenji Yamamoto doing music *crosses fingers* -They get the right balance between puzzle solving, platforming and blasting -The graphics stay that good
Is there any news on Retro Studios future developments? Or have they financially imploded and I missed it?

they're working on an undisclosed game, it's believed they are off of Metroid for now
