This involves the REAL HBJ of..... DOOM!  Probably no one could do this but, I might as well issue this challenge of extreme skill.

You have to go to the last energy tank (Chozodia before Meta-Ridley).  When you're where it is, horizontal bomb jump your way back without tripping any lasers.

from what i've seen hbj is all about the rhythm.  now, i don't have it yet (and quite possibly never).  what i would really love to see is a real video (not emulated) of somebody space jumping that thing.

i still can't imagine why it would be *that* much harder than the classic 'noob bridge without run button' video.  i stopped trying that after i got a dozen too many faces full of spikes.

though, i guess that jumping and falling is faster in mzm than it is in super metroid.  or maybe that's just me.

jumping is one thing. horizontal bomb jumping is another. I've jumped to get that tank before. trying to not hit a low ceiling like that might be impossible.

I've done a horizontal bomb jump to skip acid worm a grand total of twice.  I doubt I'd be able to pull this stunt off.  Maybe AJ could?

I play keyboards and can't horizontal bomb jump to save my life. I even have good rhythm. I am just not a good bomb jumper.

Ehh..... *tries to come up with something*.  I play soccer!  Touching the ball to evade the attacker requires rythm.  Then again, you do use your feet....

Anyway, currently I am bored of ZM and am playing SM again.  I guess I'll watch some more speed runs to try to get me back into the game.

yeah, I could do it. I'd love to take a friend on in street fighter 2 on dance pads. man, that would be a great drunk game. people would be falling over. I need to try this.

I can beat most any DDR level with a controller, too. controller DDR is where it's at.

the patch is here.  i don't know how i feel about that.

however, since i play sp, i am under no pressure to patch anyway.  i guess i'll pop over to my other haunt here and see what they have to say about it.

No, it's true. Really, a lot of older games have "floatier" jumping than games do today.
