Well I'll probably never understand why they wanted to spend 10 (!) minutes going over Makos reflections on something I felt most people were happy that the show left behind itself a long time ago, but Varricks retelling of the story so far was fantastic. Loved them poking fun at Unalaq.
Okay seems like they got a screwed over and made the best of it, so under those circumstances I'm just happy that they managed to make something great of a part of the episode at least.
heh yeah that was a pretty cool ep anyway - i kinda like clips episodes because they give me a refresher on the earlier seasons. the varrick stuff was well done, i like that they managed to add in the telephones lol
Yeah I guess clipshows are more frustrating for someone like me who has watched all the seasons 2 or 3 times already and rewatched the entire thing right before season 4 started. Still, the Varrick segment is good enough that I can't really be that disapointed in the episode.
Rest of the episode wasn't that bad either since they had the characters interacting together during the clips and it provided some comedic moments along the way.
oh my god i never expected korra to work with zaheer. so glad we got to see more of him, he's always been a fascinating character ... now i'm hoping we see him help in the fight or something
Yeah I'm suspecting that's not that last we've seen of him either. He's the only past villain who is still alive and has a common ground with Korra regarding Kuvira's reign. Plus he's been a prominent part of Korra's development this season so it would make sense to have some sort of resolution beyond what we just got.
I feel it's pretty safe to say that this latest episode (Operation: Beifong) is easily one of the best from this season. Great action, important character/plot progression, and setting up for the final clash with Kuvira all in one swift stroke. Once again though Korra herself takes a back seat to let the other characters shine, but her segment is still vital to the story at least.
Toph returns and is still as awesome as ever, Zhu Li's allegiance is finally settled, and we get to see the spirit weapon in action for the first time. Pretty sure I had a similar reaction to the main characters when Kuvira fired that thing, but given that she intended to blow up an entire village with it I probably shouldn't be surprised with the outcome as much.
