So I beat Quad, got light suit, but I still can't go under the dark aether water, any ideas?
The light suit is supposed to make you undamaged by the purple water....hmmmm. Either you got annihilator beam and for some reason forgot that to get the light suit you need to return to U-Mos, or something is seriously wrong with your game.
"I beat Quad and got the light suit" --> No, you beat Quad and got the annihilator beam. You need to visit U-Mos ONE MORE TIME, then you'll be good to go....
clearly the santuary energy was the only good one to power the suit and the other 2 are just used to power u-mos' fridge where he put all his fellas. since samus went fast, they didn't die by the time the game's complete.
If you've talked to U-mos already, then try going back I guess. I can't imagine what in the hell kind of glitch would keep the Light Suit from entering water on Dark Aether...

He didn't say which water he tried to enter. You can't go under all of it.
You can't?? In which areas does the dark water penetrate the light suit?
I never said that, I said there are some areas where you can't go under the water, namely because it's too shallow. I thought he simply wasn't trying the right rooms.
Of course, now that we have names, my hypothesis doesn't matter anymore.
if you have the light suit and can't go into the dark water in dark oasis, the game somehow broke itself on you. looks like you'll have to restart.
first time this kind of game breaking bug happens around here? at least all the previous ones had a way to trigger it (diappearing artifact in mp1 and disappearing sonic locks here)
Alright, I fell victim to the broken sonic locks in Main Research :/ And worst of all, I left the room and Saved, unaware of the glitch I had caused. After reading some articles, it looks like I need to perform a rolljump? or a lock-dash across watch-station access to progress and get the screw attack, correct me if there are other ways or if I am screwed. Unfortunately, I don't really understand the directions on either techinique, or I am doing something wrong. Specifically for the rolljump, I can achieve the instanst unmorph off the ledge but after holding both L and R I can't even make a single jump, much less a double. For the scan dash despite how I read the directions I always end up spinning to the right looking up about half way accross the pit. I'm playing the original MP2 GCN version on the Wii. Any help is appreciated!
the roll jump is a tricky trick when you don't have much experience with it. for best results, you have to change how you hold teh controller and hold R with the middle finger. hold it all the way. now, get in optimal position, put your index finger on X and your thumb on B and start rolling and get the instant unmorph. here's the tricky part, you must press B right after X but not too fast or you won't get the jump or not too late or you'll just fall. once you learn the timing for the X-B button presses, the jump becomes much easier to do overall. holding L is not really necessary since the roll jump can make it to the other side even if you don't press L but it helps if you press it on time. it must be pressed after you jump. (the roll jump can even reach the other side without pressing R but that requires perfect timing and pressing L)
Ah, so the L lock was to get the slight advantage of Ghetto-jumping, its not necessary. I was going for a 100% run and having to restart would've been... a setback. Rolling off of a ledge to my death countless times was starting to bore me, and I really appreciate that there are still communities that play these games! Thanks for the help!
