No, if you stand underneath him, you take damage. Also the fireballs don't give you refills. You can freeze them, though. That could be useful. Just keep in mind he can have like six fireballs on screen at the same time.

He's MUCH easier than Kraid, but getting to him and back is a nightmare.

if you're looking for an easy strategy, you could just go into the lava underneath him and shoot up with the wave beam. as long as you keep jumping you won't take much damage.

I F%&*ING HATE KRAID!!!!

He killed me when I have every power up 180 missiles and 6 e-tanks...wtf...

I need to know two things:
1.How the f%&* to I kill him?
2.How do I even get the e-tank in his room?

Alright, I finally mde it into tourain. Quick question, how do I get these damned metroids off of me?

Alright I'm in tourain and I encountering troubles, in the first room I kill all the metroids and reach the door but it is yellow and I cannot open it, if I go back up the room the metroids have respawned to I kill them again, nothing happens. So I watched a run on youtube and it was done on the NES, in that rom he kills 5 metroids and the door is open. However I'm playing on the zero mission copy and I only kill 3 metroids in that room (until I go back up to kill them again). So does anyone know whats going on? If my games corrupt or if I just need to simply do something else?

Thanks for any help I can get.

Heh, yep, that happens. If you've ever played Zero Mission, it's basically the same layout for the items that exist in this game.

If not, red doors take five missiles to open. The sound it makes doesn't make it obvious, but you are actually "damaging" the door every time you missile it. As long as you stay in the room for all five hits, that is. If you run out, you have to farm some refills from enemies, often by scrolling them off and back on to kill them again.

Beyond that, the main appeal of the game is exploration. If you really get stuck, go to GameFAQs.com and look up a guide. They've got the basics of actually beating the game pretty much covered.

If you pick up this Prime guide, it also contains about a 20 page guide to the original NES game. It's also the best Prime guide I have read, definitely worth getting.

is this a secret always when i start the game i get close to kraids lair and i go in this one door then when i reach the end there is breakable blocks i go through and there is a energy box

Do you mean energy tank? If so, there are 2 in the game that are hidden underneath breakable blocks. One is in the ceiling in the blue corridor to the right of the start point, the other is in the lower right wall in Kraid's room.

The game doesn't track your inventory with a percentage, how are you coming up with 99%? If you want everything, just make sure you have 6 energy tanks (even though you can pick up 8) and 255 missiles.
