I need help in metroid quarantine a! I can't stall aboce that spider track. And jumping on the spider block in geo core. Remember to always push against that big rock and you don't have to go to the side to land on it. Just go straight up onto the ledge, I used to have trouble on that also.

If you have read my like 4 recent posts you will find out that I have easily done this twice now.
I have gotten the Plasma beam w/o Spider in two different save files and the second time only took me about 10 minutes to get.
SJF is still taking me around 20 tries to get. Damn SJF! ;)
Well can anybody help me with Metroid Quarantine A? Tell me at least where to jump because my sequence breaking days will be stuck in metroid quarry a if I can never do this, and dashing isn't an option, there's only about a 1/20 chance of me getting the dash correct.

What items are you skipping?
If just grapple, shoot randomly around the phazon until you hit the moving platform, then jump onto that. Then, do the same thing towards the upper right to make the second platform visible (or at least while the shot is there). After that go up onto the ledge to the right and shoot again towards the spiderball track until you get onto the third platform. From there, just spiderball away to the end.
If you are skipping spider, then I don't know what to do. ;)
i would say practice the dash. if you plan to continue sequence breaking, you are gonna need to get good with it, so better to learn it sooner than later.
are you talking about the dash to the door? that was evil for me for awhile, but i found that doing a normal dash of the missile, then jumping back, just holding down on the stick, for the second jump works like a charm. of course, if it's PAL, then you have to position a metroid to dash off of
or are you talking about something else? like getting across the phazon w/o x-ray for some reason? it can be a good speed trick, if you freeze a metroid or pie rate in the right place, then dash off of it
The spot that you can stall on is actually fairly large, so if you're not making it, I would guess you have to jump further to the right. I believe there's a bit of an edge in the wall where it starts to curve a bit. I think you want to land to the right of this edge. Basically, just stand on the beam, face where you think you should be stalling, then do the longest/highest jump you can.
Once again, another person has answered life's questions with a quote! Also, I am thinking about doing a 200% game speed style and I was wondering if it would be faster to play the game normally, or to sequence break to get the fastest time possible with 100% log book AND items as well as beating the game on hard (of which I haven't done yet.
Also, why can't I make the holo-projector work in the observatory if I went and got the thermal visor before going through the lab itself? Also, why won't it let me go through Research lab Aether when I went in the back way.
Also, what it a pie rate?
Also, can I still get the super missle when I can't get up the Observatory.
Also, how do I get up Observatory w/o the holo projector on?
I have heard of the hbj, but can anybody point me in the direction of a video and description of how it's done? I've got the tbj down and all, but would like to know about the hbj and how to do it, nor it's variant the hbj-dbj. spent some time using my friend the search button, but it was drunk. . .or something. also, if the hbj is a useable technique, why isn't it in the prime section? just curious.
thats a much worse example, but you might be able to tell the timing from it.
basically, you waste a bomb, then time the first two bombs so you hit the second right before you hit the ground from the first. then you lay a bomb as the first goes off, then as the second goes off, etc.
you mean the one in the observatory? yeah, that one's evil too. do your second jump a bit earlier than normal and that should help. it helped me quite a bit. then up top, you can do the l lock spring space jump or whatever, or you can do a scan dash off of the bomb slot, down and left if you're facing the wave door
Heh. That Observatory Dash Jump gave me too many problems, plus it ruined that 20% game I was doing. Question 1: What is the best recorded time of a Hard Mode 200% speed run? Question 2: I currently have a 200% speed run Hard mode game in the works. I have 53% scan completion and 35% item completion in 1:25. Is that good?
The observatory dash is hard as hell, I'd say (well, with Player's Choice). The only useful thing I've seen working is: rush into the room, kill the 1st pirate (falling in front of you), go directly forward to the frontal ramp, jump to the left plataform, and the 2 remaining pirates will be in perfect positions to dash: the one to the right (closest to you) to climb, the other one (left) to dash to the wave door (I don't like that long L-LSSJ; I hit Samus head with that hanging thing where the Super Missiles Combo is, she should hate me right now).
The problem is that you need to dash getting the most distance you can (as my experience says), but the pirates' shots stop your fly away dash jump (making you lose momentum). And then, getting the Combo to fall and go up again? I prefer going all the way backwards.
Nope, the puffers don't need to be there. I don't think they make it any easier, unless there's something I don't know. I'd definitely shut off the gas before trying.
The only tip I have is try to bend your dash backwards a little, so that you have less distance to cover when you're jumping back to the ledge.
