Got a question. Is dj strat for boost guardian is completly random and lucky, because me im very bad with this boss in my 22% run it took me 7 minutes to defeat him.

I never managed 1 round method. Couple time i was very close. This is totally luck IMO.

This is very good job Recit0 Your Boost guardian took whole 7 minutes beat your 22% run. Shocked

My personal Boost guardian segment took 5-6 minutes to beat my 22% hard mode run. I beat this in 3 round. I never survive alive any longer than 3 round.

7 minutes alive here is itself very good job. Even harder than 2 round normalmode battle or 3 round hard mode battle.

will someone, anyone, please, please please... etc.  tell me how to get ontop of the rock in TAS?  i have spent about 4 hours trying to get on it and only twice ever succeded.  and then i never even made it back out with the PB expantion.  can someone maybe even post the vid of the ghetto jump?
here. I've youtubed it, seeing as how it seems to be in such demand.

edit: god it looks bloody awful

plasma beam v.2.0
well, i finally did it.  7 hours of attemps and only 10 successful jumps (9 of which froze) later, i finally have powerbombs.  btw, anyone with this great idea of pwning all three amorbises (amorbi?) at once, pb's dont affect them.  thanks, dj
no problem.
plasma beam v.2.0
are there any other pb expansions i can get now?  i would like 2 before boost guardian.
I don't think so, although I don't know the locations of them all. The one in Feeding Pit requires Light Suit (actually supposedly people have collected it using the secret world in that room, but I tried extensively and never got it to work).

Why would you want 2 before boost guardian, though ? You can kill him with a single power bomb, and you can pick up power bomb refills from crates etc. any time after you get your first expansion.
plasma beam v.2.0
well, because i have timing issues in prime 2.  not in the other games, just mp2.  oh, theres the one in the circular room off of the main torvus entrance.  i forget the name but its the room with light doors.  i think, maybe not.  it might be the dark world version.
The room is "Great Bridge" in the Light World, and you need Power Bombs to get it, so if you've already got an expansion, it'll be no problem.

Yeah, my perfectionism comes into play in that room - I can't just remove one of the Denzium rocks to get the expansion, I've got to bomb BOTH of them! Every time!

Cheers,

Matt
plasma beam v.2.0
thanks ave!  i forgot about that one. that will work nicely.  2 pb's vs. the boost guardian ensures he goes down.
Oh, and there's another one in Putrid Alcove, which is in the Dark World. That's the room with Power Bomb doors both ends.
plasma beam v.2.0
that was the one i was talking about.  found that earlier today.  then i went for the light suit then THE PB's.  yay no damage from DA during the fight.
DA? Dark Amorbis?

Oh, I also forgot to say I've got to blow up BOTH Power Bomb doors in Putrid Alcove, too...

EDIT: Sorry, I think I've worked it out - Dark Aether / Dark Atmosphere?

My early PB method is quite different and a little easier, but slower.  I enter Temple Transport B SW and wallcrawl to TAS.  Then I load DC, dump TAS (I HATE the DC/TAS door).  I walk to the communications area door and float up on top of it.  The next part is jumping toward DC's ceiling and landing on it.  You will have to use bombs to move across the sticky surface, using a DBJ to clear the raised gate.  Once I reach solid floor, I unmorph and SJ upward, landing in a skywalk.  I skywalk over the PB and morph, grabbing the PB and landing on the PB alcove's ceiling.  The best exit method for me is loading CA and scanning the console to activate the satelite dish.  The cutscene puts me back in game.
Trying to do the one required for early Grapple. Stand on the platform above the light door, hold L and backwards (the only sensible direction to hold), then release backwards while pushing B and holding down R simultaneously... then just keep holding L/R and use my second jump to jump forward right?

These things are always easier said than done  Embarassed

EDIT: Well maybe this should've gone in the "I need help" sticky... sorry about that, I don't post here often :o
One shall stand, one shall ball.
Sounds like you have the idea right, but if you're dashing backwards or forwards you can keep holding the direction during the jump according to the main site.

Maybe you just need to work on the timing of your second jump.
For this jump I want to go backwards (off the ledge) and then forwards (towards the door). The videos make it seem like the person just falls off and then jumps but that can't be right.
One shall stand, one shall ball.
Looks like he jumps off the ring then uses the second jump to dash. I'd try that, if it worked in the video  I can't imagine that it wouldn't work for you.
Hehe, looks like my topic did get merged after all. :P

Anyways, something about this jump just doesn't feel intuitive. Because I'm holding R, when I press forward to jump forward, it just moves my view up instead of... well moving forward. But of course without R (just doing an l-lock jump) doesn't get the distance. Sigh.
First, you should practice the underwater dash at the bottom of Hydro Station. When your comfortable, try for the door up top.

I recommend reading the bottom section of the wiki page (tj's notes). http://www.metroid2002.com/prime2/index.php/Underwater_Dash

In theory the technique is simple. Hold L. Start moving (any direction, forward is easiest). Press (and then hold) R and B (tap or hold) at the same time. If you do this you will dash. If you jump forward but no dash, B was pressed before R. If you jump straight up R was first. I tend to press B first, so I touch R but have my thumb slightly above B, then I squeeze.

If you jump diagonally at the door up top you can use the second jump to jump back to the ledge and try again if the dash fails to take. If you fall to far you'll lose the second jump. If you trigger the second jump too soon you'll bump your head and miss the ledge. So do it just right. ;p

the underwater dash can be very tricky. practicing at the bottom is good. once you can cover big distances, you'll be ready to attempt the SB.
it was the very first SB trick i learned but still took quite a while. pressing R and B at the same time is hard mostly because of how the R button is made. if you have a fast finger you can press them at the same time sucessfully but a good tip is trying to press R some frames before B. that's like almost at the same time but R goes first to compensate for the time it takes for the button to click.

or you can just hold R midway to mave it closer to the click. i never did it that way but apparently it works too.

Tricky? An understatement. I can get some distance while "playing" at the bottom of the cylinder. However, when I try to get to the white door, well, its hopeless.

I do have a question -- I activated the bottom lock to open the ledge at the seeker door. So I stand on that platform and underwater dash to the white door (nope, can't make it)... so, my question is are the 3 platform (doors) too far apart from each other to span? I see the video and it is not done this way - to be honest, I can't even get close to how its done on the video. As soon as I drop off the upper grate, I fall almost vertically down.

Thanks -- Mazerski

I meant to ask... what does SB stand for?
