Okay, with all the recent topics asking for help on one particular thing, I decided to make one topic for everyone's questions on how to do something in Metroid Prime.
I'm locking all previous threads asking for specific help, so do not make any more. Use this topic instead for questions on getting certain items or doing certain tricks, and if you want to continue discussion from the topics I've locked, do so here.
Thread title:
everybody knows it's true
Stop reading my mind
Will attempt VMA eventually.
EDIT 1 Has been Answered
EDIT 2 Has been Answered
EDIT 3 Has been Answered
EDITS 4/5 were full of confused words etc. and contained several false statements that I typed in my confusion.  I have withdrawn them because I couldn't tell if it was me or one of you pros that did that VMR I was referring to.
Also, I did almost manage to get to top of Geo Core without Boost, but never made it all the way (fraction of an inch away from the ledge containing the door to PP).  I had considered this to be completed, even though it had not really happened.  I did, however, manage to Climb the Frigate, and almost got the IBBF.

Sorry for lying to you guys about those above noted things, but I wanted people to think that I was doing good, because everyone else is talking about stuff that I mostly aren't able to accomplish that well.  You may now beat me/stone me/ or hurt me in any other way (my cyber self, obviously).

I hate myself for posting this post.  :(

Anyways, here is the list of items that I need help with either getting for the first time or mastering before I begin a Low Percent Game (not speed run yet):
1 4VMR (Did try 3 times, though I never made it)
2 Skipping the Grapple Beam: Phendrana Edge, Main Quarry, Magma Pool, MQA, MQB, FHA (Mastering it), FHB.
3 Skipping the Boost Ball: Reflecting Pool, Crossway (both Mastering them), Ruined Shrine, Geothermal Core (eventually), Life Grove Tunnel and apparently in the Life Grove itself.
4 Skipping the Spider Ball: Sun Tower, Ruined Shrine, Geothermal Core, Great Tree Hall, Main Quarry, Twin Fires
5 Skipping the Gravity Suit: Skipping the Frigate/Climbing the Frigate (figured I should master both, see which takes longer), Artifact of Livegiver
6 Early Energy Tank
7 SJF (learning to do it on first try
8 Speed Run with SB'ing after all the above is complete.

First Power Bomb expansion is gotten at top of Phendrana Edge in order to get the Artifact up there.

I feel less guilty now that I have confessed to my sins.

I do want to say this: what I have said about the Geothermal Core in the 21% topic is based on fact.  If you don't believe me, test it out for yourselves.[/i]

Need help getting from Tallon Overworld Elevator in Magmoor Caverns in the middle of it to the Geothermal Core w/o Varia.
Do a VMR and recharge in Phendrana, and then get the energy tank in the room right next to the first Phendrana Elevator.then do this
Quote from Rasorflame:
EDIT: Why is it that all of those long jumps that all of the SB pros use have that little left part to it?
Is a glitch that is in all 1st person games that gives you a small boost.
Quote from Rasorflame:
EDIT 2: Also, do you have to use a TBJ in the Magma Pool w/o Grapple to make the ledge? Why doesn't a DBJ suffice. (Main reason why I ask this is because I have no talent at all for doing TBJ's, even after 4 hours of solid practice.
Read the second part.

EDIT 3: Root Cave Early Missle Expansion is taking a little too long for me to do without having to break a sweat over not completing the game as near to 100% as I can without it going over 10:00.
Could someone give me a quick way on how to get to the door?
Have the plasma beam?

I'm being serious when I say I can't delete this post!

All right...now I need OFFICIAL help!
Now I have been working on EPB for god knows how long and I have utilizted a series of complicated L-Jumps, only to land a fraction of an inch below the spider block where I could see from my head over the edge of spider block.  That's closest I have ever gotten onto the ledge.

Also, I got within a 1/4 inch of getting onto the ledge with the PP door from the cylindrical spider ball track thingie attached to raised 2, not that anyone cares, but I could use a little encouragement/help if you might please?
everybody knows it's true
No idea what you just said. EPB = Early Power Bomb?
early plasma beam, sounds like. bet he wishes he had pal for the easier spider block mount.

And right you are.....am wishing I had PAL version, but at the same time, I figured that it would make a few other things a little too hard for me to HANDLE right, such as the combat visor SJF.
I shudder at the thought of that.....
I run this here hotel of an evening
i need some help with IBBF. i can't seem to get crossway access or whatever it's called to load. it's the room right after furnace. stupid morphball door thingie....
Use this website: http://www.samus.co.uk/mprime/secret_world_9.shtml

EDIT:  I also realized that I was trying to mount the spider block while on the left side, thinking it was the right side.

Wow.....that is SO pathetic.....lol.
I run this here hotel of an evening
oh yeah, i forgot about that. thanks

EDIT:wait, that doesn't help at all. i know how to get in, no problem
Just managed to jump onto spider block one.  Now attempting the jump from 1>2.  Looks to be too tight for a regular space jump.

I am very happy now.

And as quickly as I got on, I fell of trying to ghetto jump onto #2.  It was too tight of a jump to make with a normal space jump.
always move fast

ice before flaaghra stuffs.

and for the spider blocks, you can use a normal space jump, but you have to wait to near the top of your jump before moving forward.

That is the link that I basically gave to him 4 posts ago.
always move fast
except for the part where the link you gave him had nothing to do with ice before flaahgra...

I thought that that secret world could be used to get to hall of elders without having to go through Magmoor......
always move fast
well, i suppose it could (though im not sure about that), but gathering hall is accepted as the access point for that stuff.
I wish I could do IBBF, but I sadly can't ghetto into that one SW that allows IBBF... Rolling Eyes

Even if you did, apparently you have to go through about an hour's worth of wallcrawling.  Also, try this: http://www.samus.co.uk/mprime/ice_before_flaahgra.shtml

You must have AN INCREDIBLE AMOUNT OF PATIENCE to do this right.  Or you could just do a 3VMR, which is a .1% chance of doing it right. (my estimate).

Alright, I'm off to finish EPB and then am going to try the trick to bypass grapple in Phendrana Edge, for the Early Power Bomb as well as the early artifact of Strength I think.

EDIT: After Plasma and Power Early, I will go through game and get SJF again (GROAN), then will proceed to attempt IBBF, and possibly even, PBBF, if I actually want to risk a VMR run.
I run this here hotel of an evening
i know this isn't MP related, but why is my IE text so really small? it's not my resolution...

anyway, i can't get Crossway to load. i'm on the wave door, but nothing i do works. is it supposed to be secretized at this point? if so, how do i secretize it?

EDIT:i think i just figured out how to secretize it. crap, i knew i was forgetting something
Morph and repeat the same bomb jump you done in WFA to get yourself up high enough to skywalk. Once you're skywalking, move over to above the Wave Beam door. Carefully morph down on top of it and unmorph so you don't roll off. From here, move in the direction of Crossway to open it up!. Stand on Crossway's door and door dump CAW.

Arrgh..... Part 3 movie isnt downloading!

I will attempt this immediately after EPB and EPB lol.

that's not what i was missing
Quote from Odylg:

You said you couldn't get Crossway door open.
Read next couple of paragraphs on next page for more info then.

Here:
Once you're on the lower roof ok, L-Jump over to the top of the door itself. Now, plesae note you WILL encounter a VERY VERY annoying graphic (a part of the roof) that is sticking in your face and obscuring the screen completely. You can overcome this by moving backwards on the door (making sure that the door itself is on YOUR left. Once the graphic is out of the way, unlock the door with a missile and then grey it out as per normal. Now, we need to secretize Elder's Access as it's not possible to door warp into Crossway (there's strangely a gap before the door)... so to secretize the next room, once the door is grey, do a door dump on that door.

THAT is the right part I know it is.
