Under TAS conditions, the secret message path is about 5 seconds slower than the normal path.

Even if it turns out to be faster in normal play (which I doubt) it won't be enough to justify the added difficulty.

If you get the secret message, then you have to go back through AQA to get to the next item, because there's no way to get to it from that exit.

How would you mute the music while still being able to hear sound effects like shooting? ZeroFission doesn't work there, and I have no idea where the memory address for music is...

Help!  I'm stuck in the area right before the Restricted area after you beat the SA-X but before the Omega.  I was just wandering around looking for the last Missile, PB, and E-Tanks, and I fell to where you fight BOX the second time.  Now I can't get out!

EDIT: I figured it out. Embarassed

...it lets you leave after you beat SA-X? You're not locked in until you set the coordinates?
Well, I went into the room where you set the coordinates, then I left without setting them.

No, as I remember, after beating the SA-X, the doors open in both ways, and you can leave the area without even entering the room where you should enter the coordinates.
Are you ready for some underwear music?

No, if I recall correctly the only door that opens is the one leading to the Operations room.

Pretty sure detonator is right.

The bottom-right door also opens once you've beaten the SA-X, but the door leading out of the elevator room is grey

So you mean that if you would go down the elevator the door leading out is sealed so you're forced to go to the Operations room. Right Question

Exactly

So what version you're playing then. It can't be done in US version at least.
I doubt it's different on any other version.

Um...detonator, are you going to keep accusing him until someone tests the ACTUAL claimed escape method? Or are you just gonna continue to say he's lying because if you skip a step, it can't be done?

Do you need it any simpler than that?

I'm not saying he's lying. The thing I've tried to say that I have found no way (or even tried to find) to get out of the SA-X battle room and collect the remaining item tanks.
Edit: So, you said that you could leave by first entering the operations room, then leaving it, then you could do it, right? If it's so, then I won't 'argue' with you anymore.

No thanks. I guess it was a little stupid to not read the posts properly. Sorry. Embarassed

I just went in and checked, and no matter what I do, I can't seem to get that door in the lower elevator room to open after beating SA-X.

I just checked too, and it won't open for me, either.  This is weird....  Maybe it's a glitch where the door doesn't lock.  Of course, it could just be my bad memory, and I hadn't beaten the SA-X yet.

EDIT: Yeah, it was my bad memory. Embarassed

EDIT#2: Okay, I need help with the secret message.  I know there's stuff on it on the site, but I can't get it.  I've gotten up to that part on that ledge where you shine charge against it twice.  I just can't get further than that.

The secret message is REALLY difficult to get. I have not gotten it either so I guess I can't help you.

But the reason why I posted here is... does somebody know what this is for?
edit: I can't see the pic so if you can't see it either:
It's the room where you can enter by going through the bottom right door of the first shaft in ARC. There's a power bomb block which reveals a small hole in the bottom left corner but I don't know why it's supposed to be there.
Here's a pic.
