MP2 also a bit MP1 speedrunning
well the question is if your help was necessary i didnt really practiced that bomb jump (maybe 30-60minutes) and im now getting it with 1-3 tries.
its not hard and any noob can get it without having any idea of it. well and your explanation yeah it would not help me.
its all depending on the position of the bomb, the timing and the position from the morph ball at the beginning my only problem is that im often boosting over the platform where that boost slot is and ending up falling into that water.... and you can easily figure that stuff out yourself so nah im quite sure that i dont suck at explaining things if its not depending on my english grammar. you cant do this bomb jump with 1st try if you actually never done it before so its obviously more helpfully to give him kinda motivation to practice it.

why can't we skip the omega pirate and phazon suit again? just wondering, since with enough energy tanks i believe all artifacts are collectable anyways iirc.
The phazon suit is enhanced with the phazon beam which is required to kill the second form of metroid prime
wow that won't work with any other suit? i'm going to guess they had originally planned to allow the phazon beam near any kind of phazon
I am trying to completely sequence brake the game on the trilogy version but...

1. I can't get the hang of a Viraless Magmor run and
2. I can't seem to get the space jump boots early.

SJF is most definitely possible, just ridiculously hard.

And IIRC you kinda need SJ to get through a VMR easy.

rocks, locks, and invisible blocks
the Space Jump Early dash is most likely the hardest thing ever so I wouldn't recommend even to bother trying, isn't you have to do this bomb jump trick off a small rock the I believe T3 found,
The rock right just beside the guy in this video
there isn't actually a video of it being done afaik but it can be done.

As for the bomb jump its self you have to do this weird bomb jump that is almost like a 3BJ:
Lay your first bomb and spring ball as it goes off (which gives extra height)
Right as you use spring ball lay another bomb and then lay your last bomb at the peak of your jump
Then do use the spring ball again as the second last bomb goes off so that you get the height to make it to the last bomb
And with a well timed unmorph you can make it onto the platform.

^That method is very hard and you need really good timing to pull it off, but its not where near as bad as the dash... ...and bomb jumping off the ship is impossible, no matter what people on youtube have uploaded

They coded into the engine that if you use the Spring Ball, you can only be effected by one bomb's explosions.

That plan isn't going to work.
I believe the VMR is possible if attempted with 4 energy tanks.

As for the SJE, I'll try it.

Quote from T3:
Lay a bomb. As it explodes spring ball. I suggest just practicing this until you get the hang of it. You'll know if you've done it correctly because you'll go higher than usual. This is pretty well what the bomb jump is except your doing it twice.

So from the starting, lay a bomb. As it explodes spring ball + lay another on the ground. At the peek of the jump lay your last bomb. You'll fall to the ground and this is when you spring ball right as the bomb on the groung explodes. If done correctly, you'll hit the bomb in the air and will have an extended double bomb jump.

It worked for T3 and I
I want to do a hard mode any percent speedrun that i would submit to SDA.  What route should I use??  Wouldn't using the spider route be slower because it would take longer to kill thardus?  Would it be a bad idea to pick up more etanks and missiles throughout the run?
Is Zoid's hard 1:15 still the record for hard any percent or has this been beaten already?  (Yeah, i know a lot of annoying questions)
I got 1:11 within 4 days or so. <_< I grabbed a couple of energy tanks IIRC. I guess fighting Thardus would be slower, though have fun doing the wallcrawl... I personally used the old any% route since I wasn't going to put much effort into the run.
yeah, i guess it is just a matter of testing if the spider route or old any% route is faster on hard mode.  Sparky's route is totally out for me.  What should i buy to record segments with?  I know it sounds silly, but can someone explain the memory card swapping thing to me?
What?

There's no "memory card swapping" required... unless you mean beating the game in order to skip cutscenes, or something. I can't think of anything else that requires memory, and that has absolutely nothing to do with swapping memory cards.

and I'd recommend a Dazzle DVC 100 to record with, it's cheap, and it's easy to set up. You might not get the best quality, but anything beats the old "camera-placed-awkwardly-on-an-angle-across-the-room" set up.
A couple of the SDA runs have memory card swaping. However, it isn't necessary.
no, i think people do it so that you can keep a save after every segment, or something like that
Anywhere, everywhere
You can't copy files in MP1, for some reason, at least in NTSC 0-00, so the card swapping acts as copying files.
Yeah, I guess if you want to copy your file to another memory card for a backup save. For some reason that never occurred to me.
I've lurked on these forums off and on for awhile, and actually registered 2 years ago, but I haven't really posted anything. I have a question:

I've tried several attempts (although not as much as many of the MP1 players here) to doing SJF on MP1 (Trilogy version) and it is very frustrating.... Dash jumping isn't what it is used to be aiwebs_003

I'm hoping this is the right place to post this - I know a while back there were several members who have accomplished SJF. Is there anyone who would happen to have Wii game save they would be willing to share with SJF done on it? Thank you.
rocks, locks, and invisible blocks
iirc only 2 people have ever done SJF on trilogy and nether of them have been online in quite a while, you might wanna just do SJE, or if you're willing to download a save (making any speedrun no legit) you might as well just hack and moon jump up there then take the code off after.
ANKOKU
I gave it one honest day's try back in college...

Haven't tried since. Though I still have the save file waiting for SJF.

Turns out MetroidFan001 has accomplished SJF - and he was kind enough to provide me with the save file. It's nice to be able to play with SJ first again! I have uploaded the save file to wiisave.com so anyone can use it.

Enjoy!
...He used Moon Jump. <_<
Oh well......

For those who want to download it anyway I guess it doesn't matter too much. I probably wouldn't do it myself since I don't know much about using those kind of cheats (nor do I care to use them); but as long as it doesn't affect the game I am ok with it.
