It's not completely 100%, but it usually works. This is just coming from personal experience though.
Even if it isn't 100% certain to work, it's good to know. I'll try that from now on. Thanks :)
Has somebody the 1:12 single segment Pal run by Zoid?...this monkey has deleted all his videos..:/
Well, it used to be on Archive, but...

is the artifact of Nature without supers a sequence break? (I personally don't think it should be but if it is I would like to know, because I wanted to do a natural route run at some point and I need to know if I can get it the first time I go to magmoor or not)

...Why?

At the very least I doubt they intended you to reach it without Space Jump.

In the Prima game guide I got with the game 9 years ago, the walkthrough had you pick up that artifact the first time you went to Magmoor. I remember being able to get it without knowing any special tricks. Plus, I was 11. So I'd say it's not a sequence break.
There's a ring around the bottom of the pillar that you can jump to the artifact from, but you can only stand on a small part of it and there's no indication that you're able to stand on it and not anywhere else. I can't see how it was possibly intentional.

Though I guess this serves as a good example of why natural route is a completely stupid idea.

Yeah, but I need a reason to not do SJF on the trilogy <_<. You know what? I'm just going to collect it "early". Even I'll have all the items needed to get it at that point in the game (missiles) so imo its not even early

Mean like sure its not intentional, but at the same time its kinda like if I where to skip the hive mecha or the boss fight before morph ball, which is allowed in a natural route.

You should get Space Jump first then, that's not intentional either, but you're already at the landing site so it's not like it's much of a detour so it doesn't matter.

Admittedly, none of this can beat "getting an early PB and entering the Mines through PPC is perfectly okay because you still get PBs in the right order".
what does the scan say about the pillar, or is it not possible to scan?

also missles early is very natural after picking up space jump first naturally.

I'm new to speed running and I own a copy of the mp 2 demo version of MP.

other than not being able to scan dash what sequence breaks can I NOT do?

I appreciate any help in advance, I really enjoy metroid prime and speed running it so far.

Hmm its been a while since I played on that version but iirc you can't do early plasma beam (you need grapple to unlock the door or something), other then that I think its just that you can't scan dash which means a few Lot of speed tricks can't be done :P
damm that sucks, I really wanted to be able to get the plasma beam early.

I probably won't be closing in on any WR anytime soon haha.

I'll try to find a copy of the original version then.

Thanks!
Umm, I need help with doing the speedtrick in Hydro acess tunnel(im trying to skip the gravity suit), I watched the video and all, but i still don't get it with rocking the analog stick up and down and releasing the boast ball, but it just doesn't work, and doesn't boost far enough down like it did in the video. Could it be because I have player's choice version?
my umbrella goes directly to Bankai
the boost ball's properties are the same in any of the GC versions. you just need practice to pull off the trick.
MP2 also a bit MP1 speedrunning
kv195 if you mean that bar bomb jump you dont need the boost ball at all just try it a few hundret times.

wow you really suck at helping people <_<

To do the trick you'll need to know where to aim the jump, explaining this through text isn't going to work so I might post a screen shot in this thread later if I can get a chance to, as for the bomb jump itself you want to lay the last bomb a far bit earlier then a normal DBJ, if you have boost I'd recommend using it because it acts like pressing L and changes your camera and makes it easier to get through by just holding one direction instead of changing half way through the jump, if you don't have boost then just use L but you will have a lower chance of getting through because if the ball gets stuck in between the pipes and the ceiling then boosting will often let you go through as where not boosting will most likely have you just fall back down. Hope that actually helps <_<

the bar bomb jump just takes a lot of practice.

it took me about 15+ minutes and at least a hundred times to get it on my first try, the good thing is unlike the early space jump screwing up the skip doesn't take that much time (since you'll have to lock onto something  every time you mess up early space boots)
Is it somehow possible to get the artifact of spirit without Plasmabeam? :(
Get it? Yes it is.

Leave afterward? No it isn't.

You can get the artifact using infinite speed, or via SW, but the cutscene places you in bounds, and you can't leave the room.
thank you^^
is it possible to get the powerbomb expansion near the wave beam with the IS?
