This one should be quick. I just got the second key in Dark Torvus Swamp which triggered the next event. It shows me where to find the Chozo Gear but I cannot figure out how to get there. The gear itself is located in the dark world in the room called Sacrificial Chamber. As far as I can figure out I need to go via the room called Crypt. Its the room with the portal and a light door and a regular door protected by a force field. I can't figure out how to turn off the force field or even if thats where I am supposed to be. Any help would be great. Thanks guys.
How do I beat the Grapple Guardian? I'm a bit stuck on him, I don't know what to do.. and where do I go for the second Dark Torvus Temple key etc, is it somewhere around after this Guardian?
Scan him first. If you don't scan him, you can't lock onto his eye.
I was scanning him first :p but I didn't notice that he got stunned and/or that I have to scan dash in back of him to hit his back side. Well i figured it out anyhow, and got the key, now off to the Sanctuary Fortress.
Erm, under Research in the logbook, for the Luminoth tech, there's 4 entries for the crystals and floating thingies. I've got normal, energized, and nullified, but what's the fourth? I HOPE I didn't miss a scan, because the section has the little yellow vertical bar next to it, even tho it says 75%...
Super Crystal and Super Beacon. Shoot a crystal with the Annihilator Beam, then scan. Shoot one of those non-crystal light ball things with Annihilator for Super Beacon.
I think charged light beam is all around worthless, because so many of the enemies have a short time in which you can hit them, either because of facing or phasing. (Some of them, like hunter ings and dark pirates, seem to phase when you use any charged shot unless theyre in the middle of something.)
That's especially true on the boost guardian, who suddenly becomes unhittable while decides to sphere. You can easily get in 3 or 4 regular light shots before he switches back.
In the short time the Boost Guardian was solid I was able to hit him with 2 Lightblasts (Charged Light Beam) each time. 2 Lightblasts to a Darkling does about the same damage as 2 Super Missiles. The trick is to keep holding down A throughout the battle, and to stay as close as possible to him. This makes the time between Lightblasts as short as possible. It takes practice, but it can be done, and it's a much easier fight if you Lightblast him every time.
It is hard to hit Dark Pirate Commandos and Hunter Ing because they keep disappearing. When you get the Dark Visor, you won't have this problem anymore.
Im stuck at the main gyro chamber in sanctuary. I've got power bombs and stopped the second ring from spinning.
(This is the first time I turned on hints, and it says I'm supposed to be here also)
Edit: to previous poster. I believe you, I still think I prefer the flexibility of single shots though. I got sunburst and it's not quite as good as dark burst. DB appears to suck enemies in, (I can't be sure) doing full damage to what touches it, and also reaches it's target faster. The Sunburst seems to operate exactly like a Quake 2 BFG during its flight, picking off smaller enemies. I haven't been able to gauge how damaging the main ball is.
I wish these abilities used lots of missles instead of lots of ammo, because missles are pretty worthless. Low damage, limited ammo, and a shot delay = junk.
The second ring has a spider ball track you can use on one side. Use it, line up with the cracked glass, and boost off. You should (if you did it right) smash through the glass.
Super Crystal and Super Beacon. Shoot a crystal with the Annihilator Beam, then scan. Shoot one of those non-crystal light ball things with Annihilator for Super Beacon.
sorry if its been answered before (i'm trying to avoid spoilers) but i could do with some tips for the boost ball guardian. mostly how to stop the ahole from spinning all over the place :x

I'm not sure if I speak for everybody, but personally, the boost guardian was the biggest bastard of the game. Every other boss was easy compared to that jerk.
