The key trick is listed, as doninss says, in case someone manages to skip the boost ball in the future (highly unlikely) - although it is still an important trick even if you don't skip the boost ball because it's faster than doing that room the normal way.
Quote from doninss:
The site lists techniques for skips and possible future skips I believe. (In Echoes case, mostly possible future.)

Perhaps extra tanks might help with boosty. The Windchamber Gateway one  is pretty easy to get to. (You will need to get a handle on roll jumping or dashing to get back.) If you go to extremes, 10 tanks are available.

I've never used s_e's boosty method successfully, so I can't offer any help there. It usually takes me quite few tries using the more normal tactics. (I suck, but there is a luck factor.) Getting decent damage 1st round really helps.

I start with a partially charged light beam shot, and  then try to get in as many fully charged shots as possible before he morphs. (With a shot or two at his black puddle.)

I jump to avoid his boosts rather than morphing, using single light beams shots on inglets for health (after they start appearing). I sometimes jump onto a pillar, but you must jump before he hits it to avoid damage.

I think there's is a strat for bombing the puddle more efficiently, but I don't remember it. (I am usually too nervous to use it anyway, I just bomb away.)

Actually, I'd watched someone's speed run video recently, an spotted a new trick on the boost guardian I should be using.  Watch him roll, an follow him the -moment- you seem him slowing down.  Once he's stopped, bomb like mad an move a short distance away.  Should turn him straight into puddle.  Then just unload with bombs in sets of 3.  Once he goes back to ball form, follow to the side of the room you see the puddle zoom too.  If done right, you just may be able to drop bombs on him right then, an force him away from ball form completely.  If not.. at least you can limit the amount of time he's in ball form, which is the most dangerous form he has.  After that it's just unloading with charged white beam shots, an pelting the inglets with dark beam to keep the white ammo up.

That ghetto is tough in Temple Assembly Site. In the elevator room you have a choice of bsj or ghetto to enter the secret world for early PBX. You have to load one extra room, but both SW methods are easier than the ghetto on the tree root in Temple Assembly Site, IMO.

Yeah, thanks for pointing me to that!  I was unable to do the root ghetto after -many- tries.  Almost an hour of solid work.  The one in the Temple Transport B?  Took me about 4-5 tries, an I had it.  :}  Note to anyone reading this.. -WATCH FOR THE ELEVATOR HOLO WHEN DOING THIS GHETTO!-  It is -way- too easy to set off the elevator just after messing up the ghetto jump, an forcing yourself to have to wait on an elevator ride up an back down to keep trying.  :P  now, I wait to watch videos to find a path through the secret world that'll land me on the power bomb, without falling into nothing, an I"m set!  Thanks guys.

As another thing.. I guess I posted too soon.  I got into the SW like in the videos you reach through Doninss link at the end of his post.  However, something's not right.  No matter what I do, i cannot get into the SW of the Assembly site from here.  Every time I jump at the door to the Assemly site.. the next room loads into view.. for about a second, an when samus 'falls' to the floor of the SW.. the room vanishes an I'm still stuck in the Temple Transport B room!  Any ideas what I can try?  perhaps there's a jump trick to passing through this door I'm missing?
If you can consistently time the jump up to the door to about the height in the vid, you're in good shape. You just need to hit the door frame a little closer to TAS. (A hair to the right.) Also, after hitting the frame and triggering the door to open, try to slide right and touch the room you want to load (TAS in this case) so you fall away while touching the door game and a part of that room.

Another method is to (from the ledge where you land after the ghetto) turn back to face the door. (Hold R to avoid falling off.) L-lock jump forward, then space jump 45 degrees left to land on a higher ledge, closer to the the door (neutral stick at the end of the jump). From that ledge you can easily space jump to top of the tunnel near the door, make your way to the door frame, and load TAS from atop the frame. (Careful, it's easy to fall as you approach the frame.

Video. I blow it at the end (reloading the elevator room as I drop off the frame). Don't do that. ;p

Edit: Added nate's smart tag work-around for TAS. Changed link label (vid's done).

Well my next part is Quadraxis my low-% hard mode.

2.51 minutes before Quadraxis save points.  I know it is slow, but i don,t have motivations speedrun my low-% hard mode run, because this challenge is hard enought beat only.

But well can anybody give little tips beat Quadraxis easily?

I am curious what is MR.X method when you beat that? is it your method different than Kip?

My method.

1 leg: Super missile, light beam charge and couple light beam regular shots. Same as Kip

2 leg: Light beam charge and light beam regular shots

3 leg: I don,t have good way beat that, but i use super missiles and light beams combinations everywhere.

4:leg: i don,t beat that yet

Is it good idea save couple light beam charge against his second form just like Kip? First form is very hard if you try safe your light ammos.

Normal mode is much easier because you can kill his all legs light beam only in one round. But you need SM shots hard mode and one round legs kill is impossible here.

I think i try practice that 4-5 energy tank max before real challenge, because i need good order save my ammo and kill him legs. But if somebody have good order beat that. Tell it me.

I know this is one hardest low-% bosses in video game history.
“Well done is better than well said”
I sure could use some help.  I am so frustrated.  UMoss and the hint system are telling me to go to Sanctuary Fortress.  This is only my second time through and the 1'st time was well over a year ago.  I can't figure it out.  I'm saved by the elevator at the temple.  I can't get past the sonic door and the other way (Trooper security) has the gate that apparently needs a PB to break.  I've used the map in both light and dark to check every door, room, etc I am cappable of opening with the gear I have. Which is:

L&D Beam
SMs
DBurst
Seekers
Boost
SJ

What ever it is I need, I have'nt found it (Sonic detection gear Echoe visor or PB looks like it will do it)...... I think I got boost ball early and fear the hint system is screwed up like prime 1 did.  I can do a sequence break if I glitched my game or something.  But it's more likely I am missing something simple and it's right in front of my face.  Thanks if anyone can help.

On a side note there are two sticky spots on either side of the gate.  but more importantly there is one higher near the red circle on the door.  The 1'st two are easy to land but the latter I only landed once and couldn't jump.  I'd say that has been investigated, though I don't know for sure.
Room names where you are obstructed would help. It sounds like you want to get into GFMC Compound to go to Sanctuary Fortress, but I don't remember a sonic door in the way. (There's a Seekers door in Sacred Bridge that needs Dark Visor to see the targets.) Do you have Dark Visor? If so then yeah, Sanc is up next I think.

In normal play, PBs and echo visor are during or after Sanctuary Fortress.

What gate? (Sticky spots, room name please.)
“Well done is better than well said”
Thanks doninss.  I meant to write "Sacred Bridge".  Sorry about that.  I also neglected to mention I had the Dark Viser which is what I needed.
WATCH TOWER ACCESS

i cant get over there! (i know how to do it normally)
i want to get the screw attack early, ive tried the scan jump thing, doesnt work for me. as soon as i dash, the screen freezes for the scan. (door doesnt even go out of site first) when i let go of L i fall strait down with the dash. dont even have room for the second jump.

when i try the morph ball jump, i cant get enough distance. ive tried everything i could. i almost smashed my girlfriend with the controller out of frustration. i tried to follow the vid on the main page of this site, but it doesnt show how to do the scan jump if the door has already been scanned. it shows how to do it with a blue scan, not a green one.

did anyone else have trouble with this, or is it just my lack of skill? if anyone know any thing to make it easier, please tell me.
Forget the dash. Read the roll jump page (Techniques) three or four times. (Especially the part about the L-button.) Relax. Practice. Read it again.

I use my knee to hold the R-button (old fingers, new tricks), index and middle fingers for X and B. (R-button gets held as soon as you morph and stays down the whole time.) I also use the second jump earlier than I think I should.

Yes, someone else had trouble with this.
You could also give Scarlet's strawberry express a whirl.
doesnt matter i skipped it. frustrating.

I practice multiple hours that watch station jump. I finally can go onto the spider track. I find simple place made triple bsj. Tripple bsj sometimes piss me off, because it is harder than single and double bsj. It give same more height as double but camera situation is difference and your must be push faster your buttons.

But well i can du that sometimes. But i don,t never can jump in bomb slot. It is absolutelu too hard. I read many times metroid2002 main pages and i watch sparky video, but i don,t understand why it don,t never grap bomb slot for me. I try manytimes and many different jumps style. Sparky is bit crazy he don,t mess up that jump. What is midair morph?

http://www.metroid2002.com/echoes/techniques_midair_morph.php

Why it don,t never working?

EDIT:
It finally working. I spend couple hours and it finally grap. I test that second time and it grap once again and took only 3-4 attempt. It is sometimes little randomly and it timing was hard find, but i finally find it or i was lucky.

But that is still too hard speedrun because watcstation, grapple skip, transit station and hall of combat mastery is really hard complete all in one go and without dying. It took lot time. I think very early screw attack and PB without spider ball save almost 2 minutes and it is much harder, i made easily 5-10 minutes mistakes in this segment and i don,t never test grapple skip, i think roll jump onto the robot is very hard, it looks hard when S_E play that.

Seems Red Scarlet's SS vid is gone. I needed a reason to try this again (sans R boost). Strawberry Surprise is now wikied.

I just started my real run, i hopefully can get sub 2 hours this time. I have at least 1 minutes ahead my 2.07 run after first dark samus.

I watch S_E videos once again before i started my run. His video looks like crazy, it includes much no human tricks. There is many spots, but i don,t understand how he can made these tricks:

1 He jump high floaty jump onto the ledge in doomed entry (first dark room after first dark samus), I don,t understand how it is possible, it never give enought heights. It looks like ghetto, but he don,t need getting hit wall. Is it ghetto possible without getting hit wall? He use that trick almost everywhere game.

2 He get first beam ammos without shooting block around a room. I don,t know how he can jump enought long jump. I test that many, many times, but jump don,t give enought distance cross that long gaps before beam ammo expansion

3 He can jump bsj without camera trick, his camera looks like so weird, just like he jump polluted mire single bsj. His camera looks crazy, i can jump that too, but i need camera trick +double bsj and it took several tries, almost impossible apply speedrun.

4 His scan dash give everytime much distance, my scan dash give always same more as regular jump. He can jump dark forgoten bridge gap with scan dash, i need roll jump.

His run includes many very weird thing. Is it his run complete in PAL versio? Includes PAL versio some difference than NTSC? aiwebs_016
Ghettos in Echoes aren't about walls as far as I can tell. They are about slopes. Something as small as a bump in the floor can be used (e.g. SW 58). I may be wrong here, I'm no ghetto master.

In my experience, improper dash technique will result in a fancy looking space jump. ;)

The camera glitch (bsj, roll jump, bfmam and mam) is far more complex than meets the eye I think. The camera doesn't need to be obscured when you morph, it just needs to be perhaps obscured (or placed near a collision event) after you morph. Or something to that effect. <_<

1. s_e ghettos off the luminoth. I haven't done it so, I can't really help.

2. This isn't listed as a "tricky jump" on the speed tricks page for nothing. I spent some time trying this a long time ago, but failed to make it. (Back before s_e came to m2k2 I think.)

I tried this again today though and made it for the first time ever.  grin new I made it three times in less than a minute in fact (a big deal for me). I jumped from the right side of the post instead of the left side. It's a straight shot that way and you don't have to worry about hitting the wall. It appears to be much easier  this way, although possibly a bit slower to get into position.

New wiki page. I've described a ghetto jump, although one isn't mentioned on the main site pages. If I'm wrong about this, someone please tell me.

YouTube (flashy vid)

3. It doesn't look weird to me. Perhaps I just set my camera up different when doing bsj's though. I can easily make it with one bomb. (The height needed there is only slightly more than a space jump.)

4. I only did this today for the first time as well (non freeze dashes have always pwned me). (I could make it before with a scan (freeze) dash or a roll jump.) I only made it once and barely, but again, a milestone for me. grin new I found DJ's description in the wiki a big help. Exclamation  Wiki dash page. I find the dash description on the main pages a bit ambiguous BTW ("hold left or right and press B"). Tapping B seems necessary for the R dash to work in DFB/ FB.
always move fast
if the luminoth one is the one im thinking of, just walk forward and backward over it a few time to see how it slants.  you want to jump just as you start to hit the slant.  once you figure it out it starts to get pretty easy.

My little speedrun questions:

Running in-game  clock when you going inside dark or light portal?

I don,t know that, but if in-game clock don,t run, hall of combat mastery instant morph trick is pretty uncessary apply speedrun, because you can going in dark world and it took almost 10 seconds game time. Portal sub programs took almost 10 more seconds, but i don,t know running in game clock between portal animation.

Well my run sounds like pretty good. I have almost 6 minutes ahead my 2.07 run in manigyro chamber (i have very good change get at least 2.01 run). I decide try that new screw attck before spider ball route, i get 1.14 after screw attack. This segment was pretty crappy. I miss roll jump 2 times, watch station bsj jump i miss two times and transit station bsj jump i miss 3 times and i don,t trying that hall of combat mastery trick, because it is extremely randomly and this segment is very hard.

I don,t happy my segment yet i definitely try later again improve that. I complete much good attempt but always that transit station PB pit rising ruin my run. It is so hard made without dying.

But wish me luck. This segment suck, i really can hate speedrun that segment. Too much luck base, and irritating PB refill manipulation drops before save point. It can be randomly time and i have always bad luck if everything else working.

I read lot old echoes topics, but i don,t never find answers my questions.

What about is this sunburst speedtrick? You can get sunburst without going dark world.

SILENT ECHO WROTE 20th.feb.2006*********

Winchamber no dark world : 30secs

*************************************

What hell he mean? My opinion your must be visit  darkworld just like Sparky. My opinion your must be visit dark world and your must be complete that boost ball puzzle. Can anybody explain what he mean about this? Shocked
Here's the original post. There is a tiny ledge. I can't do it, but apparently a bsj can get you up onto it. It's an easy space jump screw attack from there.

Pic below showing where the ledge is. (Note that most of it is around the corner from where you would bsj from.)

EDIT: I don't think any cut-scenes count on the clock. (That would include portal time.)

Thanks Doniss. Well it really working!!! :P

Took several tries find bsj spot and that jump was pretty randomly because it ledge was very narrow.  Pretty hard/annoying trick apply speedrun.  But well i can du it now. 8-)

My little questions about Silent echo 100% route.

Is it his item route same as Sparky expect that dark suit?

I know he get dark suit later game, but change he that item route? I started 100% test run and i am bit curious what is his item route. Annoying he never recorded his insane cool hard mode 100% run.
I screw attacked into a morph-ball tunnel on GFMC COmpound and I fell down an invisible ditch or somewhat and appeared underneath the area... I'm like wtfomgbbq and I checked wikipedia for these characteristics and apparently I'm in a "secret world"? The wiki page said I can navigate in the secret world, but I can't seem to get back up to the main stage, and when I turn into morph ball I fall down a long way.

So, the question is, how do I get back to the main stage in GFMC compoud? Or stay on the main stage? Thanks, I hope you can help, because I haven't saved in a while.

Edit: I also read 'wallcrawl' sometime ago, explain please :D

Don't morph anymore.  Run a hundred feet (Samus game feet) out past the edge of the room (somewhere where no other connected rooms lie). Wait (check every so often). You should be very slowly slowly rising. When your twenty feet or so above the highest texture in GFMC, walk over to middle of it and morph.

Examples of wallcrawling (getting around in the secret world) can be seen in DJGrenola's 17%, tjp7154's any% nosj run, and Mr Potter's max% nosj run.

DJ's article on a specific set of wallcrawls in the wiki is an excellent read (pics and video!). http://www.metroid2002.com/prime2/index.php/Skipping_the_Cobalt_Translator
It took me literally fifteen minutes to float to ground level in GFMC Compound secret world, and I was about twenty Samus feet below the stage. After about ten more minutes, I was above the stage. Is it supposed to take this long to float?

Well, anyway, as I floated a little farther up from that point, I heard the sound Samus makes after falling off cliff, the screen went white, and I reappeared behind the Galactic Federation ship in the actual stage. Is this normal? Thanks
I completely forgot about the terminal fall off the back of the ship. Yeah, normal.

I'm back to work after a long lay-off and a bit rummier than normal even. (I can't handle long work days as well as when I was younger.)

Yeah, floating is very time consuming.
