I redid it with easy mode so I can have more fun pumping him full of missiles. I have 10 super missiles and the screw attack on this game and I saved ABOVE him this time incase I want to get more stuff for his fight. Now, to change the topic.
I don't get why Nintendo didn't include the ability to turn the beams on/off. They sure did a good job of spriting the beams by themselves.
Charge:
Plasma:
Wave:
I don't see why they didn't simply add the ability to turn them on/off. Is it really that hard to program?
Then that's not the point I'm trying to make. With the beams individually sprited, Nintendo could have easily made an option to turn the abilities on and off. The Super Missiles prove they tried to make it act like Super Metroid, they could've given it the best feature about Super Metroid.
Edit: Also, I'm now curious about the debug menu. What's the coder's way to get it? Code Breaker? Game shark?
Through a cheat cartridge yeah, just like the debug rooms exept, it would be a lot harder to access the debug menu I'm pretty sure I could make a cheat to access it but I'm not sure if it works by location or value
I still haven't beat 15% Normal and I keep losing to Ridley. What would you recommend that I get? It's my first time doing it. I'm no pro but I'm still good at the game.
Get strategy. Stay under its front foot (not hand) the entire time and he never grabs you. As long as you don't cause too much damage in a certain amount of time, and you don't shoot him as he's breathing fire, he never does the tailspin.
Edit: I'm editing all my really big useless posts into this so you don't waste your time reading them. If I should just leave them how they are then tell me and I'll stop editing them, but I think it would be better to not waste room on the page and stop if someone tells me to, than leaving them here to be annoying.
Normal Mode: 1. Morph Ball 2. Missile Tank 3. Bombs 4. *Varfia 5. Plasma Beam 6. P. Grip 7. Ice Cream 8. Gravity Suit 9. Space Jump
*Varfia can only technically be skipped, but it still appears once you get your suit back after the Chozo Test, counting as a ninth percent.
After that, you get to choose from any six other items to help in your quest for the pretty ending picture.
Hard Mode (NTSC only): 10. *Missile/Super Missile/Skree Attack
* Chozodia has a room that requires usage of either three missiles or Skree Attack to pass through on one path, and 2 missiles or Skree Attack on another path. After the paths join back together, there is a missile door. On normal mode, there is a save+recharge station underneath the missile door, but it's blocked off on Hard Mode (Hatch isn't even there).
