Do you know where I can find these codes? Are they Game Shark, Code Breaker, or something else?

This isn't so much a help question as a curiosity. What do you suppose that green crap is in the remains of Mother Brain's liar? It can't be phazon because Pirates don't appear to know what it is until Prime and it has to be something more powerful than lava since Samus' gravity suit can get damaged in it.
Well, iirc there's a similar kind of green liquid in fusion before Ridley-X. Of course I couldn't tell you what that is, either. The entire premise of the green liquid and what it is is all going to be speculation and theory until nintendo tells us what it is, which they probably never will, so it's probably just best to figure that the game designers said "We need another liquid to harm people after this point, and who cares if it makes sense, it's a video game."
Metroid Exp: Exploration - Great, Skills - Decent
Kinda like the orange/red liquid in Lower Norfair and Croco's room in Super Metroid

Edit: I'm editing all my really big useless posts into this so you don't waste your time reading them. If I should just leave them how they are then tell me and I'll stop editing them, but I think it would be better to not waste room on the page and stop if someone tells me to, than leaving them here to be annoying.
If it is acid, it's nothing like the normal acid. Normal acid is dilluted when Samus gets the Varia suit and the lava when she gets the gravity suit.

...I've never heard that theory, the varia suit causing all acid to be dilluted once the suit is picked up. O_o
Right after getting the Varia suit, roll around in the natural acid outside of the room. Notice how damage stops. I said the normal acid, as in acid in the caverns. I meant it dillutes damage.
Perhaps a better word would be "negated".

Zebes is an alien planet, there are bound to be substances we don't know about. That sounds like garbage, but I like it, it adds to the mystery.
I feel stupid for asking this. I made it to Ridley to get Super Missiles before fighting Kraid but how do I get back? Even when I beat Ridley and make the side statue collapse, I need the speed booster to get past that area.

Thanks for the help. And yes, a map would be helpful.  laugh new

Edit: I already found it. Thanks anyway.

New question. Say I'm in Kraid's liar already and I decide I want to get more Super Missile tanks, at the last minute. I'm already in the liar, at the top of the room before Kraid with alot of blocks. Is it possible to get out of there to collect more tanks? The obvious route, the powergrip ride, is impossible to get through because of where the bugs are positioned.
I like Big Butts and I can not lie
If you haven't dropped through the crumble blocks before Kraid then it is possible but otherwise you would have you horizontal bomb jump though the rio room

...Hold up, isn't there an entrance to the right of the bombable block to get to Kraid?

Or is that before the dropout blocks?
I'm on the top right of the room with a crapload of blocks to the right of Kraid's boss room so, yes, I did go through the collapseable blocks. Any way out?

Assuming you're talking about the room to the right of the room to the right of the save point, If that has bugs flying out of a pipe, you might not be stuck. Directly above them is a tunnel.

If that's not the room, then I'm sorry for your loss.

The area marked in yellow is where I'm at...

...ooooooh, I completely forgot that's a drop-through block. I assumed you had been playing on console and had saved above Kraid himself. My bad.

Yes, unless you TA through the Rio Room, you're either going to have to make a breakthrough strategy for it or restart.
Yeah, I figured 3 Super Missiles would be enough to wipe Kraid out in Hard Mode, apparently not. It's not so much that I think he's a hard boss, just that I love blasting the piss out of him with Super Missiles.
Shifty Leader
That M2k2 guy
Even if 3 supers isn't enough, if you're quick enough, you can still kill him before he closes his ugly face (I imagine). I can pump 8 normal missiles into him before he shuts up, so maybe you can get like 3 supers and about 3 normal missiles. Not too bad.
I like Big Butts and I can not lie
Kraid has 300 health and Super Missiles do 100 damage so...

Also the only differences in hard mode to normal mode are:
  • You get half as much energy/ammo per expansion.
  • Bosses/Enemies do twice as much damage.
  • The Chozo block thing isn't there in Ridley

And I think one of the statues is moved left a block. For absolutely no reason. Also, many of the enemies are evolved forms and come in greater quantities.
