Thanks,now i know!
*cries* OUENDAN!!

I've had this problem for a week or so, but I'm somewhat patient and the problem was tolerable at the time. But now it's just play crazy that it makes me want to rip the disk to pieces.

I've beaten the game on normal once, and started a new file on Hard. I hadn't played the game for a while, and decided to go back and finish it. Now here's the problem: The game seems to randomly close and reset when I press a button. By "close and reset", I mean the screen turns black, there's no sound at all, the Gamecube's "power is on" light is still on, and after a few seconds the GCN resets. And it's not a normal reset either, where it directly goes to the game; it goes back to the first booting sequence break instead.

At first, this happened roughly every half-hour, wich gave me plenty of time to save before doomsday. But now I'm at Torvus Bog's first save, and the game resets after a few minutes (the record is 10 seconds, I believe. The loading scene was still playing), wich is many, many more kicks in the bullocks.

If you're interested in what condition the disk is in, I'd say that it's fairly well with only a few very small scratches (wich is nothing compared to my SSBM disk, wich still works even though it has many huge scratches) and maybe a bit of dust. I lent it to a friend of mine around a year ago, and returned it to me a month or two ago (he apauligized (sp?) a lot when he returned it), I checked the disk, and it seemed fine. I then lent it to another friend of mine, who returned it two weeks ago, and the disk was the same. After the game reseted for the first time, I asked the latter friend to see if he had any problems like this, but he said that it never happened to him (wich is a bit hard to believe, beacause he said he got 100% items/scans on his first playthrough on normal and hard without using any guide).

I've checked the multiplayer reseted too, since another friend and I had been playing it the day before it started. I've checked every stage for 5-10 minutes each. I also checked the Image gallery for 20-so minutes; it didn't reset. I've tried other games I have and nothing happened. I copied my file on another memory card to see if that was the problem; nothing. I've checked Gamefaqs and found no help and read the whole thread with nothing close to this.

Help?

And yes, if you want to help me, you have to do it by cheering accompanied with an awesome japanese song with with 2 other men/women.
try playing your disc on a friend's cube. if it's fine, hold on until november to buy a wii.

gamecube GPU/CPU overheat suspected. If you have a desk fan, you might like to try running the cube with the desk fan arranged to blow cool air into the gamecube's air intake vent.

alternatively, wait for winter. :P
ah yeah, good morning. could also try buying one of those cans of compressed air like at walgreens or another convenience store and blasting the side and back vents with the compressed air. be sure to stand back so you don't get hit in the face with all the crap that comes out.

Also, Hitaro, since you asked, it's "apologised" (or "apologized" if you live in the States).

Hush, you. Er, wait, you're my elder. Yes, you're right, ma'am.
Using a fan works. The only problem now is that I don't have a table fan, so I have to use a fan that's roughly 5 times bigger than the GCN and it makes a lot of noise. But at least it works! Whoo!
I have a problem with dark beam before space jump! In bioenergy production it seems there´s no way to land on the raised platforms!

Thanks! Hope i can do it! I have an other problem:The early power bomb exp. of the temple assembly site sw! When i stand on the door which leads to the room in which the pb exp. is, i have to jump into the wall to my left! The problem is: When i jump, i cant move to the left and i maybe get stuck! When i morph to get " unstuck" i´m stuck in the morph ball form and have to reset! Can anyone help me????
I am stuck in the Main Gyro Chamber. I know what I am supposed to do but after 3 hrs of trying I am close to giving up. I have given up twice before but I want to complete MP2!

I have completed the puzzle and stopped the spinning ring. From a FAQ

"Now, head back down the elevator, Save again if
you really need to, then jump onto the gyro. Walk around to the second ring.
If there's an entrance to a Spider Ball Track on the ring there, roll onto
it (if not its on the other side of the ring). Roll around the ring to the
end and you'll be facing a cracked window. Boost Ball through the window.
You may fail once or twice before succeeding. Destroy the Power Bomb door
"

About a month ago I succeded in smashing the window only to find I had run out of powerbombs so I went to the nearest save point to continue at a later date. I came back to it, found a power bomb and have spent hours trying to boost off the end of the spider track through the now smashed window. No matter what I seem to do it just falls off the end as if I had just rolled off without any boost. I have tried boosting half way along the ring, boosting at the bottom with the spider attachment, boosting without the attachment, boosting at the end, boosting from the "dip" (i.e the bit the ball will sit in at the end of the spider track. e.t.c e.t.c.

Clearly there is something I am missing doing.  Earlier in this thread I read about lining up the ball correctly and spend time trying that. No matter how it is aligned when I attach I end up skewed. If I press R it aligns me correctly but as soon as I release I am spun back out of skew even if not touching the stick!.

I am close to giving up on this game. Please help.
Bananas GOOD, Kremlings BAD
Yes.  If you boost from too close to that "L" dip you'll just fall down.  Try going to the dip, than backing up a little bit so that you're a little bit higher and then try again.
Welcome DrStu!

I also encountered that problem during my first time through the game. I think that you must NOT touch the D-pad just before boosting to the glass if you want to destroy it. If you hold the directionnal pad in any side while boosting, you'll fall and not pass through the glass.

I hope that it helps.
Roll to the end of the track while holding R. As s_e noted, let go of the stick (the ball should roll back up the track a bit) and charge a boost fully. While continuing to hold R and not touching the stick, let the boost fly.

If that doesn't work, reload the room (go two doors away) and try again. You've probably reloaded the save by now which will also usually cure the glitch (if that's the problem).
Hi guys, thanks for the tips and the kind welcome.

It's amazing with hindsight how "easy" it is D'oh!

I moved back up the track and found the sweet spot that fires you off the track. I knew it should have been as straightforward as that but I had a brain fart ;-) (er. for several hours!)

Anyway, I went off through the power bomb door for the fight with Dark Samus, managed to win with just 3 health left (I was sloppy) and the next part meant I went to dark aether where I promptly died in about 2 seconds :-(

It gave me a chance to try the track again which I did first time! The battle with Dark Samus this time left me with about 4 bars of heath. Hindsight again!

Anyway, Thanks for the help. VERY much appreciated.

Mister ...
Ok, I'm gonna be picking up my copy of prime 2 echoes today, and where I left off, I need some serious help.

I was in the Torvus (?) bog, looking for that second genorator thingy. I think I still need the four keys though... so yeah.  I kept getting nowhere, so I backtracked outta the bog and got the 5 missile combo thingy.  I just need to know if I need to continue throught the Torvus bog or do I need to backtrack through previous areas to find items to get through the bog?  What am I even looking for next?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

Okay, first off, there's only 3 keys required to access a temple.
Second, congrats on finding the seekers. Took me forever to realize you had to backtrack out of the bog to get them.
Third, all keys are in their areas.
And fourth your next item is gravity boost. It's in Torvus. Go to the lower part of torvus temple and go through the morphball tunnel. You should go down an elevator to an area with a remix of super's red brinstar. You should be able to find your way from here. Hope that helps.
Mister ...
1)Sorry, it's been about 6 months since I played Echoes.  Knew it was about 3-4 keys for the temple access.
2) the stupid scan hints suck, so it's not entirly your fault. Trust me, I know.
3) How do I know what areas the keys are in?  Will it say "Key Chamber 1" or something on the map?
4) Haven't been there yet.  I'll try to seek it out.  Maybe the seekers are what I needed.

(pun ... if any ... not intended)

1. No prob.
2. I don't use the hints anymore, which make it even harder.
3. Nope. All of the Torvus keys are in Dark Torvus, that's a hint.
4. Yep, you'll need them to meet... someone familiar.
