is there a way you can skip Super Missle? Im doing a low% run and am trying to skip it. but i have no clue if you can. does it require getting extra E-tanks or something? like how you need an extra E-tank for the gravity boost skip?
Anywhere, everywhere
As of right now, Supers cannot be skipped. AFAIK there are only one or two rooms remaining, but it would require secret worlds incase you didn't know. And the gravity boost skip doesn't need an extra energy tank, it needs an extra power bomb expansion plus secret worlds. The non secret world low percent is 21% (skipping grapple beam), but it has been deemed nearly impossible and hasn't been accomplished yet.
that is weird, because i heard on the samusforums that flamy or skippyjr was working on skipping it but did not yet comfirmed it. i already knew it required sw's. so thanks for clearing that up with me. so its only possible to do a 16% run then? well, off to study sw's...
doninss has shown that supers skip is possible by fully doing it.  It requires the early SW-aquired PB (as you break into Sanctuary from the side), so there is no percent change from it. (Although the early PB makes other SW skips nicer.)  It is *not* speedrun skipable as there are two parts where you must spend much time floating sofar as we know (Great Bridge and room-with-last-Sky-Temple-Key).

- First get the early PB in Temple Grounds (requires SW)
- Do Abandoned Worksite shortcut ghetto jump.
- In Torvus, do a difficult BSJ in (Dark) Forgotten Bridge to get to Boost Guardian.  Otherwise do a loooong float-filled wallcrawl from Portal Chamber SW.
- Take Portal Chamber SW to Torvus Elevator.  This requires a wierd warp-through-the-ceiling glitch.  Open the door.
- Get GravBoost and Grapple and do Training Chamber w/o Spider method (or skip both and do TC's door ring morph SW).
- In Sanctuary, do Main Research w/o Spider, and all of Sanc without Seekers or Dark visor (this is *very* cool and fun).  Echo Visor is optional and is a tough battle.
- Leave Sanc via Agon, pick up Light Suit and Seekers, then blast PB Guardian and Ckykka (with the LS!) and then get the keys.
- For the last key you wallcrawl from Abanonded Worksite SW (requires that you do the shortcut) to the last key and do the ceiling glitch at the last room.  Leave the room by walking out through the IngWorm (the wrong-room glitch means that it is not there).

Agon -> Boostball -> Sanctuary -> Torvus is how both SW-using 16% games play out, each using a different entrance to Sanc.  Sadly, without SWs all one can do is "straighten out" the game.

Im finally beat Quadraxis first form my 22% game Wink . Thanks light beam strategy.  Rolling Eyes But second form is real trouble without light ammo because Boss don,t give light beam ammo and this is trouble becasuse im losing all light ammo Quadraxis first form.

Second form:
Im don,t use screw attack with antenna because this trick is too hard for me. Im use power beam rapid fire and super missile his antenna. Second form is maybe lot easier if im have enought light beam ammo but all light beam losing him first form. I don,t know how effective is dark beam because boss don,t give light beam ammo and regular power beam rapid fire is uneffective.
my umbrella goes directly to Bankai
you better use more super missiles against the 1st form. he drops lots of missile refills.

First off, Congrats on beating the first form, MASTER-88. IMO, it's the hardest one.

I think you may be using the wrong leg to jump off of. There are only two that you can stand on. To find out which one, just see if the middle of the leg, kind of the shin area, is flat. If it is, simply jump onto the leg then screw attack through the antenna thenuse all of your remaining light ammo on the antenna on the head. If you follow this correctly, you should be out or nearly out of light ammo at the start of the third phase, but you should have all 10 missles. One super missle plus a charge beam will stun the final form and I'm guessing you know the drill form there.

WHOA. So yea, I did the early power bomb sw and now i am in Torvus Bog. So, i just need to do all the steps. Do you have a video of the entire thing? Like doing the hard bsj get to boost guardian and the ceiling through glitch one? Or have a link to it?

Here's a link for ya: www.metroid2002.com/echoes/early_items_boost_ball.php
@ ZooM: I didn't know about your vid or I'd have linked to it.

@ Dr. Trence: There is a tip for pulling off the early boostball trick in the SB/low% topic at scu you might want to read. There's also an alternate method for the second bsj. "alternatives are good." Topic link

Farther on in topic is my post about Skippy's supers skip. (There is a link to a vid of the ceiling warp in that post.) My post is near the bottom of the page but there's good reading starting at the top of the page. Topic link

I had AR MJ on. I state the "I don't think I did anything from Boosty to Sanctum Access that couldn't be done without MJ." but we won't know for sure until it's been done clean. I just want you to know there is a chance there's a sticker somewhere (without MJ) that I missed. I've been known to miss things, they say the mind is the first thing to go ;] (Actually it's the eyes, but they've been goin for awhile.)

If you want to try it, I'll fire up the cube and check it out again. It's been awhile and I can barely remember it.
Thanks for the vids you too. But one (weird) question, how does a pb put you into a sw state? I've been dying to know this but never gotten a full answer. I also cant imagine making a pb put me in a sw state, but it can.

that would be awsome. i cant really get far in a sw/sequence break without pro help  :P

Are you asking about why pbs help in low percent sw skips? If so, the main reason is because you can break into Sanctuary very early and grab the screw attack, which of course lets you enter a ton of secret worlds to help the skip work. Of course, as SkippyJr said, the super skip requires the early pb expansion which adds percent, so it's really more of a novelty thing,

basically what i was asking. so, the spinner that leads to sanctuary early can be broken by using the pbs? instead of using the speed boost? man, i should know these things, but this is my first Low% run on MP2... Anyway, one more question:
Quote:

so, i heard somewhere, that if you get pb early, you will need to still get the main pb. So, quoting that, what you just said, you STILL need to collect the main pb?

No no no, it's because Agon and Torvus both have elevators leading to Sanctuary behind yellow doors and the early pb can get us through the doors there. We don't go in the "front" way, through Temple Grounds.

Quote from Dr. Trence:

Exactly, without the main power bombs, the ing cache holding the sky temple key in dark oasis doesn't exist. That is why there is as of right now no clean skip of supers.
OH, okay. I understand now. Man, the only reason i got the pb's early was to kill Boosty fast. I did my other 22% run which i never collected the pb early, and i was facing boosty, and never killed him. i even used the 'kill boosty in 1 round' trick, but that didnt even work. But then i also thought of getting it by bypassing the yellow doors to get early items/kets/etc. So i might stick with my original file. But i also have the default low% (20%-something) on my 2nd memory card where i can try to kill boosty without the pb. so thanks for answering all my dim-witted questions that i should of already known. Now, off to study all known sequence breaks/sw's...
Ok, sorry for double posting this, but since no one has made a post in the last few days, and since i dont want to make a topic about it (that could get locked) i'll just post it here:

Need help on a under water dash:
I'm in lower torvus, where i am doing the 'get grav boost before seekers' and (this is on my low% file) when i am postitining myself where i must dash to the dark/light beam door, and for some reason, im not getting far. Everytime i do it, im not doing it right because samus doesnt get that glitchy thing as if she was dashing on land, instead of water. What am i doing wrong?

Thanks! im try this strategy next time. Yeah first form is extreme hard im need about 20-30 trying this form. I know im really need lucky because all Quadraxis 3-forms looking very hard to beat.
@ Dr Trence:

Did you read the descriptions in both of the MP2 Echoes sections?

Wiki There's a vid there.

In the vid DJGrenola strafes to start the dash (and let's go of the stick to avoid spinning in circles). You can do the same dash moving forward. You can let go of the stick or not, but with inverted Y-axis you'll be staring up if you hold the stick. I just find it easier to not have to let go of the stick. It is easier to see where the grating is with the stick let go. You'll know right away if the dash "took". If it didn't, abort and jump back to try again. If it did, press B the second time where DJ does in the vid.

I'd reccomend practicing at the bottom of Hydro Station (on top of the big lid) first. While holding L press the stick forward, then press jump and R at the same time (hold R) you should dash. If you hit R before jump, you'll jump straight up. If you press jump before R, you will jump forward but not dash. Once you get  the timing down you can reload your save and try it up top.

Edit: Here's another vid, dashing forward (even includes an aborted try ;] ) Xvid vid
Yes, i did read the trick descriptions at the main page AND the wiki. So, i was watching silent echoes single segmented run, and when he reached hydronamo, he did the exact same dash you showed me. Before, i was only doing the dash that DJ did in his 20% run. After countless attempts, i posted a help sign here. After i watched kims vid, i left to go to the store. So, i will try this method tonight on my low% file. thanks for the description.(and vid) I'll be sure to practice before i do the real thing, just so i dont get into a temper and blame you that it didnt work -laugh-
I bolded and underlined (edit) "same" in my above post because both desriptions on the site emphasize this point. Until I focused on that my U-dashing was very inconsistent. It is key. If you have the stick forward and L held, if you press B and hold R at the same time (easier said than done unfortunately) underwater you will dash.

I missed reading this somehow (just saw it). I'm no pro, but I can be persistent. Many have shared their knowledge here and at scu. Enough knowledge that even my thick skull hasn't been able to block all of it. :D

I also have AR and ain't afraid to use it.  :P (Actually my wallcrawling skills are such that without AR MJ I'd be relegated to the light side.)

Anyway, cube's fired up. Get back with you.

Edit: fixed the quote I borked.

Hmm, funny. I think DJ's way is easier but I guess we all have our opinions.

well, i did the real dash only once, but that was after 30 minutes later in hydronamo, so i just reseted it, and after that, i couldnt do it.

must of been a typo  Laughing  anyway, im thinkin of getting a AR, (if only i can find one). i watched your low% AR asstisted run on the samusforums. I never knew that the AR could give you that flying ability! I thought the MJ was something like the floaty jump. Anyway, where do you get those? I searched Ebay, but i found one. But want a new copy. Where did you originally get it?
I think I got it at GameStop. That was while ago though. If you have a newer GC (I do), I think you need version 1.14 or higher. There seem to be older versions for sale on the net. (I googled: Action Replay gamecube.)

:P Im finally beat Quadraxis my 22% game. This boss took about week and many many many tries. Thanks Rekameohs good light beam strategy and easy screw attack with antenna. I am very satisfied just now.

But anyway 8-) . Next boss is Emperor ing.

thanks. now i just need to convince my dad for me to go to gamestop. oh, and thanks for the under water method. I finally got both scans last night, so i will pick up from where i left off tonight.
