Time bomb set get out fast!
Word, Saber.  The Dark Samus idea eventually won me over (especially considering who she really turned out to be), but for a long time after it was announced, I couldn't get past the fact that they were reusing an idea barely two years old.  In fact, originality is probably my main gripe with Echoes.  It's a great game, but its concept is almost a direct steal from Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, most of the weapons and enemies are direct steals from the first Prime, and Dark Samus plays exactly the same role the SA-X did.

(Wow have we gone OT.  Maybe we should take this conversation to General Metroid.)
The thing about Dark Samus and SA-X, is I don't think it was intentional. Dark Samus first appeared in Prime 1, which was developed at the same time as Fusion mostly by different companies. So it's probably a coincidence.
lol, yeah, exactly what i thought when i saw the 100% ending in prime for the first time ...

<retro> doh!
Is it possible to skip gravity suit? (Unknown item in ridley)  Question
Don't you need it start the Ridley fight?
lol no way
None of the unknown items are skippable.
The boss fight wont start until you pick up the unknown item and try to leave.

Does this work on the European version?  I just got a European version, and I can't seem to do it.  Whereas I never had previous trouble on my US version...
iirc yes.

I've done it, so yeah.  It was the first thing I did.  XD

Who gets the long beam? O_o

Psh, you 100% people. Wouldn't it be faster to get that heading to Tourian anyway?
Wouldn't it save a lot of time getting other items?
lol no way
The Long Beam really does help a lot in the early parts of the game; time saved at the hives, time saved right after Ice Beam (going under the statue, with Long you can just shoot the blocks, without you have to bomb them), time saved on pretty much every other enemy because of its increased power (does 1 1/3 as much as a normal shot would do, so enemies like the mellows die in one hit instead of two, blue geemers go down in three hits instead of four; Ice Beam has the same damage increasing effect). It really does seem worth it to me.
Huh, I didn't know the long beam did more damage.  That explains a lot.[/OT]
I'm missing two and I don't know how to get them. The 1st one is right by the glass tube that you run across, I don't think I can get it anymore because I broke the glass, the second one is this one

Mega Flare
The "I need help" thread.
nvm figured it out :), wish I could make a video of it so they can put it on here, took a long time ><.
I found this weird password for the original Metroid that you unlock in zm and I didnt really know where to post this so I did it here. Anyways, if you put in the password 666666 666666 KKKKKK KKKKKK, the screen goes black and it will make a glitchy noise. I couldnt find anything out about the password and I was wondering if anyone here knew something about it. I believe this only works on the zm Metroid.
Well, I started playing Zero mission again and I'm tring to pull off 15% on hard mode and I seem to be stuck at the part when the metroids come after you. I always die at the part with the third-fourth room with the metroids.

So I'm just wondering, is there an easy way to beat them. Thanks.

The best Answer I have for you is to slowly approach the rooms one at a time.  Just shoot the ice Beam continuously until you freeze all the metroids coming at you.  Shooot two missiles at a time (or a super missile to finish them off for good) until they die.  So, Freeze, fire 2 missiles, freeze again.
That's what I've been doing all this while.

Aag, don't tell me there isn't another way...
I'm playing a 15% Normal Game, how do I skip the missile in Ridley right under the save room? It's on a pedestal, blocking my way.  Its not demonstrated on the site, its the other missile.

Thanks.
lol no way
You could go to that area from the other side... why you'd want to go down there instead of just going straight to Ridley, I don't know, unless you're going for like 100% map completion but low% items. But yeah, you could always go back up, then right (through the room full of the rolling enemies), then when you get to the right side of Ridley as you normally would in a low% speed run you could go all the way down the red vertical shaft, then go left and end up on the other side of the missile tank. You couldn't get past it by going above it though, if that's what you're wondering.
That's right. Thanks, I wasn't thinking about that refill room.  BTW, the Cheesing Strat for Ridley isn't working too well for me. Suggestions?
