Yay! I got my Final Fantasy XIV beta thingie all set up (finally) and got to play.
They should honestly just rename the "Character Creator" thing to "Design the imaginary cat-girl of your dreams". They put way too much customization options in there for the catgirls, everything down to customizing the tail.
Anyhow, I think I'll stick to my little gnome-knock-off thing. Very pretty game.
Now that I think about it, the Prime series itself is where the richest amount of info related to the Metroid universe comes from. We learn much about the Chozo, Space Pirates, Federation, and other sentient beings that the games involve.
Funny how they did that without being obnoxious about it.
A quick word of advice: Stay away from the SNES version of U.N. Squadron. It is cruel and sadistic and will make you want to punch something valuable and easily damaged. That is all.
Yeah, but that doesn't matter. What matters is that the SNES version of U.N. Squadron may be the only console port of an arcade game that is harder than its original version.
The PS1 Marvel Superheroes VS. Street Fighter makes you beat Cyber Akuma TWICE, whereas he only has one lifebar in the arcade version, because that mad MvC style tag teams. The PS1 port went for the old style round system.
Played Far Cry: Vengeance multiplayer some days ago.
That must be one of the worst glitched games I have ever played. I once just died mid-jump when I was about to jump off a cliff, but I was neither shot nor did I even fall down.
We also had it happen that we were randomly teleported around the map. My friend ended up on the bottom of the sea once, swam up and ended up inside a building that wasn't supposed to be accessable. He had graphic glitches with the building's outter walls and couldn't get out.
I would say in approximately every large-scale sandbox game the gameplay is messed up. It takes a wind-blow of error in design and the gameplay gets cheap and fucked up. Far Cry is an exeption here. It balances everything to keep an interesting degree, even when some errors occur. It is remarkable how fun and interesting it is to play. Far Cry actually features stealth gameplay, nothing like Crysis. Also it has the most atmospherical jungle-sounds I have ever heard. Just play and love it, the game is that enjoyable.
MGS2 is the most confusing one, Kojima overdid it here a bit with story. From story-perspective MGS3 is setted before the rest. So feel free to start with that first.
