I've been hooked on U.N Squadron lately. Now that's a good shmup for you. It's got none of that bullet hell bullshit, but it's challenging enough to kick your ass in the first few levels. I love it. aiwebs_011

now that i can play brawl again, i am back to my daily training routine (Samus > Fox > Pit)

need to get the changes of Brawl Minus into my head, so i don't make anything stupid the next time we have a Brawl- tourney here.

but sometimes... i still miss brawl+...

oh, and finished Other M, what a great game, gonna start a new save tomorrow...

that game is great. have you played the first one?
No, but I intend to.  I was trying to wait to buy it before playing this one, but I got impatient. Razz

The first one is good, but after the second, it'll seem really boring. The second just does everything better.

yeah i guess that's the common consensus isn't it. i actually think i like the first one more overall, but the second does certain things a lot better.
Looks like I have to read the instruction manual because I keep finding myself not sure what to do and everytime I die I can't figure out what happened.

So, anyone played Iji? It's a good game, but slightly difficult to describe in a few words.

downloading Iji now...

seems good...
let's see if it comes close to cave story...
One shall stand, one shall ball.
It's a pretty okay game, got a lot of love in a few places when it first came out that I thought was unwarranted, but it's solid.

Worms Reloaded. Is so good.

Managed to get three teams to target me in one game when I started picking targets off rather cleanly. The first team I knocked off the map complained I was picking on them, and whilst it was quite funny watching him complain, since his worms had afros and a jive-talkin' black guy voice bank, I told him I was trying to kill as many folks as possible with the banana bomb. The second team's last worm, I knocked clean off the map with a well placed Holy Hand Grenade. He flew through various bits of scenery and still sank. It's a great game and I'm glad I got the thing working.

Yeah it's really awesome. I'm def gonna buy it here pretty soon, kinda sucks I'll have to go through the campaign again though :[
Did God of War 3 on all difficulties just for the fun of it. I am not that much fan of that genre but GoW3 did it exceptionally well here. If you like other M you have to love GoW3 (if you dont mind brutality)
Other M is essentially Ninja Gaiden in space.
Speaking of Other M, I've just got to another one of those oh so wonderful 'look around a big bland area and see if you can spot the blandest bit' minigames and this one truly has me stumped. It's the one where you meet up with Black Ant and
Ridley
flies past.
Don't get me wrong, I am freaking loving Other M so far. But these Where's Wally section really piss me off.
Pretty sure that one is literally looking for the exit. Check around the door if I remember right.
Yeah I figured it out ecentually. I just missed what Anthony said ><

I'm at the bit just after activating gravity suit. If someone doesn't say 'Chozo' soon I'm gonna lose all faith in the GFS education system.
Not impossible
just highly unlikely
No one says Chozo.
Yeah, come to think of it....

They don't mention chozo at all in the entire game, do they?  Kinda stupid because right on the game's box it says: 'Finally the story of Samus can be told.'  Um...wasn't she rescued by chozo as a child, infused with their DNA, and trained to be the ultimate warrior using their technology?  I'd say that the chozo are the most significant aspect of Samus' story, to not mention them is beyond retarded and therefore in line with everything about this game.
"Adam is my closest father figure" - shut your pie hole, Samus. You're angering the Chozo ghost that the one that raised you left behind.
sorry, I went all Metroid Database for a minute there.

Other M kinda just cherry picks which aspects of Metroid continuity it wants to pay attention to. People focus on the inconsistencies with the Primes, but really it craps on the entire series in one way or another.
Now that I think about it, the Prime series itself is where the richest amount of info related to the Metroid universe comes from. We learn much about the Chozo, Space Pirates, Federation, and other sentient beings that the games involve. Fusion briefly has a cameo in the form of the fake Chozo statue that holds the Charge Beam. (No other mention of them there, right?) And then Other M disregards that part of her past entirely. It seems as if the series only mentions the Chozo if Samus happens to be on one of their planets, or else on a planet that was influenced by them in some way. (SR388, Aether, etc.)
All the cutscenes of Samus in her Chozo gear fighting alongside the troops... no mention to the fact she has chozo blood.

I also thought it was inconsistent to call the space pirates 'Zebesian' if, until the pirates got there, Zebes was a Chozo planet. I'm guessing this isn't clarified later in Other M.
