Chrono Trigger's translation was fine, 90% of the things in that game were goofy as hell no reason the writing shouldn't fit that. The only people that get hung up on it are weeaboo babies who can't stand that Frog talks like Cyan.

I definitely couldn't stand that, even though I'm no weaboo baby. It's the dumb name changes, inconsistent NPC dialogue, and cheesy censorship that killed the original translation. The DS version fixed 2 of those 3 problems, which is why I like it.

I can't be fucked to play SNES on my PC, my desk chair is a torture device. When they invent armchair computers, I'll be all over that.

I use an HDMI cable to connect my PC with my TV.  Not only is it great for playing games via emu, but I watch a lot of streaming video that way.  In fact, I canceled my cable service.
I'll never even bother getting a cable service after having moved out

I watched TV yesterday for the first time in a very, very long time. There were having a marathon of mythbusters, and for some reason the TV was on and I saw it playing. I think I watched it for like 2 hours.

But I can't imagine paying for cable when I'm on my own, it just seems useless when you have the internet.

oh it's good for keeping people dumb ...#

oh yeah, currently playing topic. I'm not playing much, just doing a few attempts at Layer Section a day. The best I have managed was getting to stage 5 within the first continue.
My goal is getting to stage 6, hopefully soon.

(also wow is that guy bad. how can people bother uplaoding footage like that?)

I don't know what to play!  I have 'gamer's block'.  I open up my cupboard of games and just stare.

I played through that MDbTroid sprite-hack of original metroid, was fun. I've started Mega Man 2, RE4, and a hypermode playthrough of Prime, but none of those sound fun enough to continue.  Help!

Oh...and about TV....I'm not sure I will ever get cable again.  It's like Poision said, what's the point when you have internet?  Besides, ever since DVR came out I haven't been able to tolerate commercials AT ALL.
It happens. When I'm like that it's all the more reason for me to start getting productive and work on something.

Play Doom or Quake. Those games are fun at any time all ;)

Whenever I'm really bored and have no video games to play, I usually go play with my sibling's lego's. For some reason I get the feeling of productiveness, even though anything I make gets destroyed once one of my siblings notice it.

Oh, currently playing a bit of minecraft with some friends still, but I was recommended that I check out Dark Messiah so I downloaded that last night. Still have yet to install it though.
I'm envious at some of your guys' apparent openness to trying new games.  Maybe it's because I'm getting old, but I seem less willing to try new things.
looking inside a genre you#re familiar with really helps with that I blieve
I finally ended up with Castlevania Adventure: Rebirth.  I remember going online to look for walkthroughs, cheats, etc when the game was still fresh and found nothing because it was still too new.  For some reason, there's still nothing out there.  I thought for sure that some nerd on gamefaqs had to have created a 300 page long walkthrough complete with ascii art to justify his miserable existence, but there ain't shit.  Weird.  It really is an awesome game with an amazing soundtrack to boot.

You think if I had money for these things I'd play a ROM on my Dad's DS? Shit, I'd buy a fucking SNES and play it that way if I could.

I've been stuck with a copy of Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, and am anxiously waiting for a chance to play it. I keep dipping in and out of Peace Walker but since my younger brother overtook me, I've lost motivation.
Your dad has a DS? Did you mean to say PC or TV, maybe?
No, Dad does, I don't.

i am playing a little opensource game named Liero Extreme...

it's like a mixture of Worms with Unreal tournament and megman...

but man, the game is cool... moreso when you play as metool...

yessssss. I had to use a yahoo japan proxy service to get this.
Ninja Gaiden has given me an idea as to how the hand-to-hand takedowns in Other M would work. In NG, you cut a limb off an enemy (thus making them "more desperate for your blood") and can then perform an 'Obliteration Technique', where you grab and kill an enemy in a particularly badass fasion by pressing the strong attack button. There's only one attack button in Other M, but it could still work that way.
Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
You could always have something like remote shaking, as in Mario Galaxy.
Achieved my set goal in Layer Section. I could probably do even better with some more practice, but it's getting really hard towards the latter stages so I guess I'll move on to something less nerve-wrecking.
I just finished SMG2, 9:53:12 (or something close to that).  I collected all the comet medals but avoided the actual prankster comets.  I didn't realize that you could get enough stars to finish the game without playing any of the comet levels.  They give you precisely enough stars, in fact.  Not sure if I'm even going to keep playing.  I remember some of those levels from my previous attempt to get all the stars and they were NOT fun.  I think I only got like 140 stars last time and was ready to call it quits.  I can't believe that there are over 220 of them.  Just seems too daunting.
I wouldn't be surprised if the premise of the next galaxy game is to get Mario's hat back from Luma. They sure made a clear effort in the final scene to make you notice that Luma took off with Mario's hat, and he wasn't too happy about it.
That sounds more like what you'd expect from a Kirby game, actually. Could totally see that happen based on that fact that one game (can't remember which one) has Kirby going after a stolen cake.
Also, just finished going through Corruption about an hour ago. 2/3 of the series is now behind me, with only ROS, Super, and Fusion remaining.

Ran into a funny glitch near the end of my Corruption run though. The disc was having some trouble reading when I started it up a few hours ago, and it was very obvious since things were taking a lot longer than normal to load. Because of this, one time when I arrived at the ship to fly off to a different location, the ARM CANNON was missing completely from Samus' right arm for a few seconds! The top half of her arm was there, but the cannon wasn't, so her arm simply ended in a stump. Caught me completely by surprise when it happened since I've never seen it have THAT much of an issue loading things. I'm glad I decided to save once I landed and "reboot" the game after that, because even getting to the pause menu (map) was taking forever.
