Played some Sonic 2 and went game over on Metropolis Zone 2. Didn't bother using continues after that.

Come on dude, you already made past Oil Ocean, it's not like the game gets worse after that! If I bother to deal with Oil Ocean I have to beat the game just on principle.

Fallout 3 has been pretty much consuming my soul again, just like it did the first time.

Started fresh since I got the GOTY edition, since the first time I didn't know what the fuck was going on and I built a horrible character. All those points wasted on melee... also, I missed the Medical bobblehead, which is completely unacceptable.

Anywho, now I'm awesome. I'm mostly dealing with the main game and haven't delved into the DLC too much, except I did do the Mothership Zeta questline. It started out pretty awesome and ended pretty awesome, but the middle part was way too long with way too much shooting and not nearly enough other stuff that makes Fallout 3 awesome. When Fallout 3 is being played like a typical fps, Fallout 3 sucks. It was sort of worth it for some of the junk they give you though. <3 alien epoxy.
I heard that there's an area in Fallout 3 (the Minefield, or whatever it's called) that is basically a huge Snatcher reference.
red chamber dream

I do not know what Snatcher is.

And looking at the wikipedia article, I can't see anything about it referenced in Minefield or anywhere else in the game. It might reference something specifically in the game that wikipedia doesn't cover, I guess.

The Replicated Man quest might be a nod to Snatcher, if this Gillian guy turns out to be a Snatcher with a modified memory or some such.

I guess you'll need to watch this, then:
One shall stand, one shall ball.
That's a little much for a reference maybe six people would get.
It's still cool, regardless of how underrated Snatcher is.

Fallout 3 is full of wacky shit that not many people ever see or understand.

Just the other day I came across a dude sitting on a throne made of garbage in the middle of the wasteland, surrounded by Radroaches. His name was The Roach King, and he tried to kill me with his minigun. Still not sure what that was all about.

I'd think its more obscure than underrated, I mean, it wasn't released on particularly popular systems but those who have played it have seemed to like it well enough. Definitely a cool little easter egg, it's just odd that someone would put that much work into something without any reasonable expectation of people getting it. I guess you really don't need a reason to do it though because Snatcher is cool.

I can only assume it's because you have an inability to realise that RPG is a broad term, and references a gaming style, not just 'you level up through grinding'.  I recall this discussion a while back, and esentially unless you're going to introduce fifty new genres and genre blends, there's no way to clearly distinguish between a lot of games.
Just got my copy of the saturn Street Fighter Collection, including Super Street Fighter II, Super Street Fighter 2 X and Street Fighter Zero 2 Alpha.

Crazy how much better the arcade of Super Street Fighter 2 is compared to the SNES port. never knew it was that much a poor downgrade.
Just finished megaman 1, starting megaman 2 now.  The coolest thing about these old mega man games is the music.  It's awesome.

The NES Ninja Gaiden games and Akumajou Densetsu (Jap version of CV3) had slightly better music, IMO.

Best SNES Street Fighter is Turbo: Hyper Fighting.  Still the best Street Fighter game ever, and definitely better than all of this modern Street Fighter 2 Alpha Proto Complete Ex+ Extreme Versus Ultimate Edition.  Ban the Super bars, I say! Not talking

Why the hell does Capcom make a million fucking variations of the same game and put all sorts of redundant "action word" titles on them?
Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
I have no idea.  Well, I do.  It's so that we 'don't realise' they've made 25 different versions of the same game.  Sports games are the worst culprits for this, changing the naming round so you 'don't realise'.  Yeah, we 'don't realise' in the same way that we 'don't realise' that £19.99 is the same price as £20.  Eejits.

Probably because there was quite a demand for it. They made new versions at first because the original game sold well, but then the new versions sold very good as well so they made even more because they knew they could cash in on that.

Realize these were all originally arcade games. They never intended for people to just buy all of them.

Today, I bought Super Street Fighter IV (had a chat with the guy in the shop about Street Fighter X Tekken) and bought Tekken 5 (including Tekken 1, 2 and 3) from another shop.
Who needs SFIV if there is SFII?
