Hmm... 1584 using the path I outlined earlier, which also happens to be my 5th best total apparently. Not bad for my first time in a while. (Found out my record is actually 1713, using this route, so forget my estimate from before.)

Aquas/Zoness/Sector Z are probably the three levels I've played the least often since I go for Katina and Macbeth 9 times out of 10 it would seem. Zoness is definitely the best of those three without question though, which is too bad because I'd probably play it more often if I could substitute it in for Sector X with my route.
red chamber dream
i'm a big fan of meteo and sector x so i probably split my playthroughs between the upper and lower routes. sector y and zoness are some of my other favorites.

I don't mind Aquas much myself, it's kinda slow and can get annoying sometimes but it's really not as bad as people say. It's also the only way to get to Zoness and if you're not going to Zoness you aren't playing the game right.

i guess i never played the game right then >.<
Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
Galaxy 2: Just starting World 5.  Have every star / emblem so far, including all of the pranksters.  Bizarrely, the one I died the most times on was the Daredevil run on the hammer boss.  I've really no explanation as to why I died so much here.  I know the camera was responsible for a couple, but this boss is actually really easy to do without getting hit.  Strange.

Also, resetting your lives is stoopid.  While lives are plentiful, and getting to 99 usually takes a little effort, the reward of hatless Mario (I presume it's in this one too) should be something you can keep. Sad

I also remember people on here talking about Star Bits, so I'd appreciate a general nod as to my progress.  I am just entering World 5, and have about 5,000, which seems more than adequate...
Don't know about your Star Bits, but you can get enough whenever you want to anyways.

Just got my new console.

And the games I've hamstered over the last few weeks:

Now playing .. pretty much everything up there.

What's the point of having two copies of Grandia? It's a decent game, but still...
Oh, and Eternal Blue Complete sucks compared to the original. Unless you're a sucker for FMVs and bromides, stay away from it, and play the original version. Oh, and what's the game with the crosses on the cover called?

The above is a demo version. Bought that because of the extras that came with it (soundtrack cd, A4 foldout pamphlet, stitched game map).

Yeah, I heard of that lol. Got the original version anyways so I'm fine.

Tengai Makyou IV. That one got never released outside of japan, it's some wacky RPG that plays in a fictional wild west america. Seems to be pretty good, but I don't know. Got it sort of coincidentally.
Needs moar Marvel Superheroes VS. Street Fighter.

that's on my list, but I'm starting with the less expensive games
Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
As long as you have Grandia and Lunar, you'll do just fine.  I haven't dug out my Saturn for aaages.
Still need Silverstar Story, though. : /

Good man! Is it chipped or are you buying all NTSC-J games?
If tactical RPGs are your thing, you should try getting your hands on Shining Force III. That game was actually translated to English.

It's a japanese console, so yeah it's all NTSC-J. Decided for this because most games are japan only anyways.

RPGs are more of a collection thing for now. Looking forward to enjoy these in a few years from now when my japanese might be potent enough.

Yeah I know of Shining Force. I'm not too much into strategy RPGs so I'm ignoring this series for now.

Finished Mystical Ninja with a playtime of 8:09 with 100%.

Checked out Tenkai Makyou. This seems pretty awesome, just too bad I can't save yet so I'm not playing any further. Gotta buy a new battery for the console's internal memory tomorrow.
Played some Sonic 2 and went game over on Metropolis Zone 2. Didn't bother using continues after that.

Sorry, I worded that REALLY badly d'oh! Glad you understood what I meant
Finished MM and now playing through MP3.  I really can't stand Corruption and end up getting too bored to finish most of the time.  The forever-and-a-day load times while waiting for doors to open is unacceptable and makes me end up turning it off.
The problem I have with both Corruption and Echoes is that I often stop playing once I hit a point in the games I don't like. Afterwards I'm hardly motivated to boot the game up again, because I know what's up is going to annoy or bore me anyways.

Tengai Makyou IV is pretty cool so far. And might be one of the best RPGs ever, just check out these intros:

Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
My favourite RPG intros off the top of my head are Alundra, as my number two, and Wild Arms as my fave - particularly the mix of guitar / whistling..  I still whistle the Wild Arms tune now. Whistle

One of my favorite introes too! Alundra I haven't played since I was a child, and can't even remember an intro affiliated with this game.
Yoshi is back
I like the Intro to MP3. I like the part where you gotta Keep the Federation alive to get to the Pirate Homeworld Seed. I too Whistle that theme.
Ready to internet!
Why is it that every time someone calls Alundra an RPG, I die a little inside?
