Been playing StarCraft 2 pretty much nonstop ever since I got it, and I've been loving nearly every minute of it! Played it so much, in fact, that I'm already on the last set of 3-4 missions in the storyline! Haven't played the multiplayer yet because I want to finish the story first, seeing as the single player was the main reason I've wanted to play this game over the many long years.
Finally finished Silent Hill 3 ...

guess it's over now. I wonder if there'll ever be another classic Silent Hill game.

I'm playing Rondo of Blood on my PSP, and loving it. It's definitely my second favorite of the classic platformer CVs, and the best in the series terms of its soundtrack, IMO.

I kind of prefer the Dracula X Chronicles soundtrack. Just a bit more polished. I'd never say that on a CV site though.

I totally disagree. The arrangements on DXC totally throw off the original mood of the tracks. Mikio Saito's work on that soundtrack is as polished as you get with CV music, if you ask me.
You be the judge.
Club 27 Goals
I like the second one more, imo.

The first is way better. The church organ and choir seem way more fitting than the weird synth and strings on the second. You could have picked a better example for comparison, though...
Probably, I listened to them both on the bus today, so... :P
One shall stand, one shall ball.
Second one is better if only cause the intro to the first is a fucking mess.
That's bullshit, tbob... straight up.

i like the first one a lot more too. second is way too overblown ... reminds me of nightwish or something.

this version is the best though.

Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
Currently playing: Gears of War 2.  It's been sat there long enough untouched, so, having enjoyed the first, I thought I'd blitz through this one.  Two evenings, and I've just found Dom's wife, who is a real cutie.  Also, I felt ambivalence toward the giant worm section.  Part of me wanted it to be really cool, but most of it was just oddly out of place, so meh...

Decided against speedrunning Prime this semester break.

I'm getting a new console in a few weeks from now anyways, so i guess I won't be playing much until then. Might try to finish Galaxy 2.
Playing through Phantom Hourglass again.  I can't say exactly why, but it's so much more fun than Spirit Tracks.
This is a fun distraction.  http://jayisgames.com/games/ricochet-kills-2/
Ready to internet!
Made it up to Drac on Ecclesia. Going for the medal again cause yeah. I'm fine until he uses the wolves and the Chocolate Destruction Rain attack one after the other.

Crap, just realised. Helmet glyph and goomba-stomping. IT'S CRAZY ENOUGH TO WORK.
Yoshi is back
Eh.. I'm really at the moment hacking but playing.....Eh, I'm currently just about to begin to start on Metroid Prime 3: Curruption.

I bought 'Wario Land: Shake It' today.  So far I have played it for about 90 mins and I just can't figure it out.  I mean, what am I supposed to do?  And I can't figure out how to get half of the stuff I see.  I experiment with the controls but don't even come close to getting the jump height I need.  Perhaps I have to go further in the game and get some kind of upgrades and then return?  I just don't understand this game.

EDIT:  Been watching some gameplay on youtube and it looks like there's a shitload of moves that I can't figure out how to do and of course they aren't mentioned in the instruction manual.  Fuck you, nintendo.
you could also check out arkarian's youtube channel. if you want to speedrun it, that is.

opium: i remember having some trouble when i first played it too, but trust me, the game is worth it. it's by far my favorite 2d platformer of the past 10 years.

i highly recommend not watching my videos until you've beaten the game. i'm in the process of doing individual level speed runs, and they don't show you how to do almost all the cool stuff in the levels, nor how to get any of the coins you'll need.

i recommend watching pinkkittyrose's 100% walkthrough videos. they are fantastic.

some tips from me:
- to beat each level, you have to find the cage containing a merfle (those weird creatures from the intro movie), shake the cage to free the merfle, then run back to the beginning of the level within the allotted time. this is way more fun than it sounds.

- there are no powerups or upgrades in the game. you can do everything in each level as soon as it's unlocked, but sometimes it takes multiple runs through the level to complete all the missions.

- each level has 3 treasure chests and several missions, all of which are optional. to beat the game you just have to clear all the normal levels and bosses. to get 100%, you have to open all the chests and beat all the missions.

- you have to get a certain amount of coins to unlock each world. get them by shaking coin bags in levels. most levels also have a golden enemy that you can shake for lots of coins.

- some moves you might not know about:
-- bounce off enemies for extra height by holding the jump button when you land on their heads
-- jumping on enemies dazes them, after which you can pick them up (just walk into them) and carry them around)
-- you can throw enemies you're carrying by holding the 1 button and tilting the wiimote to aim
-- throw one of the enemies with a fork on its head into a wall to stick it there. then you can bounce off it to reach a high ledge. this is required for some treasure chests and such.
-- you can jump while crawling to fit into small gaps in walls. i think this is required at least a few times.
-- you can repeat levels as many times as you want to stock up on coins (as long as you finish the level each time).
-- i recommend not worrying too much about getting everything your first time through. just beat the levels without getting the chests/missions then come back later for 100%.

hope that helps and hope you start to enjoy the game, because it's great!
That sounds very helpful, I appreciate you taking the time to type all of that out.  Will definitely give it another go tonight.

no problem. love for wario land 5 is hard to find so i try to spread it around whenever possible.
Not impossible
just highly unlikely
Now playing Prince of Persia: Forgotten Sands Wii version. Only about half an hour in, but it's looking like it should be good. The weird animations and drastically different movement controls really threw me off at first, but I got used to it pretty quick. Looks better than your average Wii game, definitely, but unless I'm remembering through rose colored glasses I recall Sands of Time looking better.

Protip: I got it at the sale Gamestop is currently having, which runs until August 8. The Wii and HD versions of Forgotten Sands are both going for $30 a pop. Other nice finds I snagged were Fallout 3 Game of the Year Edition for $40 ($10 cheaper than the included DLC alone) and Batman: Arkham Asylum for $20 (an absolute steal, but it seems to be selling out crazy fast and I had a bit of trouble tracking down a store with a copy).

wow i'll definitely have to look for arkham asylum. i'd really like to get both pops but don't have time atm to play so i'll keep waiting for more price drops.
Anywhere, everywhere
Arkham Asylum is really fantastic. It's basically a third person 3d metroid game.
