I never understand why so many people have trouble with this level. There are 150 coins, of which you only need to get 100, so you have plenty of room for error / route changing. A few lives may be lost getting used to the layout, but after that, you just make a roughly circular route around the level, getting what you can, and you're bound to have 100 by the time you complete the loop. Also, there's a 1-UP, which effectively makes a GAME OVER (almost) impossible. The only problem I had initially was trying to rush TOO much. You actually have plenty of time on each of the shrinking platforms, as you don't fall until the whole square is gone, so it's only really the flipping ones that cause grief.
Getting all 150 - that's a different matter entirely, and requires some serious planning beforehand.

I never had trouble with it myself, I just remember other people bitching that they couldn't get the star easily, and thought it would be the best way to indicate a difficulty spike in the game.
Deus Ex. Since I heard rumors about a third part being in developmentw
Today everything 'big' cries and tries to be cool and epic. Original Deus Ex is cool and epic without intending it. It doesnt try, it is. It seems to be a too hard lesson to learn for 'new-age-devs'. Anyway, giving it a chance?
I tried out Sacred 2. It was pretty fun, but when I went to start it up today "Sacred2.exe" just pops up for a few seconds then disappears. I put in the CD, click "play" on the launcher, and the same thing happens again. Google hasn't been a help either. agfdafdsafdsa
Friend got me Mass Effect 2 a little while back, played it a lot for about a week. So done with it now. Honestly, I fail to see how those reviewers over at IGN.com could possibly claim Mass Effect 2 being better than 1. It's... well, /facepalm is one word I'd use.
Back to playing nothing, well, not entirely nothing. Currently 'playing' the entrepreneur. Been brainstorming with a few friends of mine, on a very specific business model for a gameshop I've been sitting on for a long while now. Making good progress.
No games to play though. *gawks at Metroid Prime Trilogy*... nah, let's not.
All this talk about MoM and the similarities/timeline regarding Fusion has me playing the game lately. I came within a few seconds of getting a 1:29 100% lastnight, so I think I'm gonna go for that. I'm really getting excited for MoM and gaining even more appreciation for Fusion.
No, it is really good. Only real problem I have with it these days is the fact that I have to sit through Adam's conversations every time since you can't skip through the navigation rooms. Still think Super and Zero Mission are better games overall, but my opinion of Fusion has definitely gone up over time. A 1% run is still one of the hardest challenges to complete in any Metroid game (could even be the hardest, other than low% Echoes/Corruption on their highest difficulties) and the fact that it pushes low% to a whole new level of terror as you realize one or two hits is all that stands between you and disaster due to how much damage the enemies dish out, that's a major plus. Makes you appreciate your enemies more when they are a real threat to your mission, and Fusion is arguably the Metroid game that pulls that feeling off the best in my mind.
Hmm... perhaps I'll do another 1% run when I get around to playing the series again leading up to Other M's release. (Or even sooner.) I had considered leaving Fusion until after going through Other M for the first time, but I think the same thing that happened to Opium is happening to me since I now suddenly want to play it again. Haven't played a real Metroid game in ages since for the last few months my Metroid cravings have been handled by going through hacks of Super.
I'd never be able to pull off one of those. I have a hard enough time with most low% runs, so putting extra pressure on myself would completely destroy my chances. Bet the only game I'd come close to getting though all at once would be Super only because of how many times I've played through it before.

I've only ever done a few self-imposed challenges, a couple of which were trying to wring extra game out of MP by 100%-ing it in one sitting, and another of which was finish SMW as fast as possible (20 minutes, natch)
Borrowed Silent Hill 3 from a friend which I'll start today night. Also bought Silent Hill 4 and started playing this with a friend yesterday.
It's definitely not as bad as its reputation suggests, but some flaws of this game are pretty obvious. The gameplay feels quite annoying and sucks out quite a bit of the game's atmosphere and feel, also while the plot is pretty good it kinda sucks that the main character is pretty much a spectator and wasn't directly involved with the events surrounding Walter. Considering the game has lots of room for an Henry = Walter interpretation, nothing of that sort was used for the canon storyline.
Finally finished Red Dead Redemption with about 96% completion, and I found the ending to be a little overhyped as it left me with an unfinished feeling and some lingering questions. However, the phenomenal song that played over the credits made up for it a bit.
Just got Thunder Force VI for PS2. I can see why fans of the series were disappointed with this, but it's still a pretty good game and easily a better shmup by definition than R-Type Final.
