I took your advice on Secret of Mana 2, so that's ready any time.  Might Co-Op with a friend too, thanks to NetPlay.  It's next on my list once I finish Secret of Mana 1.  Then I've got Children of Mana, as well as a few ROMhacks since I just figured out patching with LunarIPS (>_>).  But those can wait until whenever.

If you're on a 'Secret of' binge, then you might well enjoy Secret of Evermore.  It's got a very different style to it, but the core is Mana through and through.  And since you mentioned hacks, there's a two-player patch available for it on the net.  I can't tell you how disappointing it was when I'd caned Mana with a friend, and then found Evermore to be single-player only. Crying or Very sad

Not really a "binge".  Just liked the first game so much I figured I'd give the others a shot for the hell of it.  The fucking Dragon-Snake in the first is really pissing me off; the dungeon-crawling in Children is already getting tedious, especially since I've got OCD for completing all the side-missions.

I'm probably just gonna kick back and continue working on Platinum for the time being until I feel a need for going back to the Manas.  Provided I can even play Pokemon, especially after a horrible start to Fire Red.  Can't believe I lost to Gary (First time EVER losing the first Rival Battle) AND a Pidgey all in about five minutes.  :\

MM10 DLC got released in europe today. Bass is pretty cool, mostly because he plays pretty different from Mega Man and Protoman.
Enker's stage is awesome. Somewhat trial&error, but a lot better than MM9's special stage.

You on about the one in the Pure Land?  If so, the two items I mentioned before will really help, as he moogles / shrinks you all the time.

Nope. People are hoping either Screw Crusher or Ballade Cracker will be his weakness.

By the way, Mega Man 4 will be released for Europe's VC next week. Why are they taking so long to release it in NA... :\

Maybe they got bored of shafting Europe with releases, and decided on a change. aiwebs_014

Which starter were you using?
No one should ever pick the grass starter.

Ever.

In other news, I'm perpetuating my intense yet noobish bingeing of Capcom Vs. games through the purchase of Marvel Vs. Capcom 2. Custom soundtracks really make a game more bearable, especially one with such terrible music as this one. I need to figure out these air combos because, although my brother and I are pretty equal on this game (he can't touch me on CvS2), the CPU wastes me with the air combos.
Not impossible
just highly unlikely
Heh, I got MvC2 on XBL a few months ago when it was half price. I totally suck at it, but it sure is pretty.

It also amuses me that like 80% of the Marvel roster are X-Men. That's so 90s.

I dunno how I missed the part about Wall repelling spells.  O.o  As for the Griffen Helmet, I probably spent an hour looking and had no luck.  Everyone gained five levels though so I figured I could do it.  Didn't expect everyone to get moogled/shrunken AND KILLED at once though.  >:|

Squirtle, since I've almost always favored Water-Types (Gen 2 being the only exception).  Probably my fault for not using Tail-Whip at least once on Gary, but when for the first few turns you're attacking first, you don't expect the opponent to suddenly go before you.

I did in Silver.  Never really had any problems with it, and I'd probably do it again too.  :P

The second gen water starter is really the only good water starter, and second gen's grass starter is the worse starter ever.

What's wrong with you.

you don't think piplup's good?
None of that gen's starters are any good.
Nothing about that gen is any good.

No, but he's better then the rest in that gen.

fourth gen has some of the strongest starters stats-wise and types-wise. empoleon and infernape are used heavily in the metagame. it's objectively the best gen in terms of starters. they look pretty damn cool too.

stat-wise sure, but seriously IMO they don't look creative at all. The monkey is pretty much charmander, just a monkey. The leaf guy is bulbasaur, but just not as cool, and he's a turtle and has stuff grow on him. Piplup is fine I guess, but its just like any other pokemon, whereas blastoise is like, HOLY SHIT HE HAS GUNS COMING OUT OF HIM.

empoleon is your king. bow.

You've summed up everything I think.

i guess his reasons don't really make sense to me. chimchar is like charmander ... except he's a monkey that doesn't look anything like charmander at all? ok ...

turtwig is a turtle that has stuff grow on him ... and that's not cool? torterra looks bad ass. i actually never liked blastoise's cannons because they don't seem to be organic at all. so how the fuck did they get there? no other pokemon has anything like that afaik. doesn't make much sense.

Flaming tails. If the flame goes out on the tail they die.

HRRRM I wonder where they got that from.

Implying anything in pokemon makes logical sense. Torterra has a tree growing on him. Does a tree growing on a pokemon really make them that much cooler? I gues it all comes down to taste, but theres no way Torterra can be considered more cool then Blastoise. Can Torterra stand on two feet? Didn't think so. That tree only slows him down, and makes him an easier target. Blastoise? His guns actually do something. Can Torterra use surf? No. all you'll be using Torterra for is cutting down little trees in your path. My Blastoise? We're going to be riding on waves and having fun.
Since when were Pokémon organic? Remember Magnemite?

And what is Porygon supposed to be?

I think its funny how asian people stereotypically say the "r" sound instead of the "l" sound when there's an l, so if you say Polygon with the accent you say Porygon.

In Pokémon, ghosts can have babies. Let's ponder that thought for a while.
And MISSINGNO will give you >99 of whatever is 6th in your inventory.

God I love the first gen.

It won't make thatmuch difference.  I think it's only 5 defence points different, whereas the others are +10 from the top bought helmet - Needle Helm?

Regarding Wall, yes, it does, so make sure you cast Lucid Barrier first, or you'll cast it on the enemies!  Back to the armours, the best stuff is all in the last dungeon, but all of the stuff just down from that - the 'secret' stuff is all in the Pure Land.  It's just a bummer that you can't ever go back.
