Even more satisfying when you take down a Strider with a single shot from your dinky pistol.

My one regret is that I cannot jump high enough to use the crowbar.

You can always try repeatedly using the flying glitch to reach that height and bashing with a crowbar.
Mister ...
Spent a few days at my parents.  Brought with me the Wii and DS.

In Pokemon Platinum, I started to train my Swampert that I transferred from Sapphire, and it's now level 81, with my Luxray behind just a few levels, both of which make a wonderful combination in 2v2 battles.  I finally got around to catching what Legendaries that I can at this point, all that remains is Articuno, Zapdos, and Cresselia; unless there's one I'm unaware of.  Enjoyed some Battle Frontier, though I've yet to take on the Battle Tower.  Been training my team on the Gym Leader refights in the Survival Area to get them up to lvl 100 for that.  Got well over 74 hours clocked in at this point.

Did a bit of work on Secret of Mana with a friend as well.  Got up to the point where I have to meet the Mana Tree, but it seems I'm having difficulty with the boss just before it.  First attempt was around Level 42 and we died horribly almost immediately.  Second time, we needed maybe 2 hits on him before he KO'd my friend (as the girl to heal) and then me.  Definitely the most annoying boss so far since Magic doesn't do much (28 points from his weakness, normal attack does ~60).  Wouldn't have been so bad if it didn't cast a spell every time you hit it, making it invincible until the attack was completed, which usually wasn't until he was already off-screen, forcing us to wait some more.

Now that I'm back home, I'll probably give Pokemon a rest to try to finish Secret of Mana.  Once I'm done with that though, I'll probably tackle the remaining available legendaries before seeking a way to capture the event-only ones.  If I could just find my WiFi USB adapter ...
Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
Sounds like you could do with spending some time levelling up the spells...

Failing that, use the Moon Energy spell on your main character.  It runs off quickly, but it means that EVERY time you hit him, you get the 'Gets Whacked' critical hit bonus.  Also, you could maybe cast Wall, as it'll reflect his spells.

Lastly, make sure you get the Griffin Helm (from the Hands) before you leave the Pure Land.  It's the best helm in the game for the main character, and you can't go back to the Pure Land later.  All of the other best armours are in the last dungeon.
Ready to internet!
Caught a Kangaskhan on the Pokéwalker today, and I'm now taking a Sudowoodo through the Yellow Forest.

Finished Kisuke's story in Muramasa.

Final boss... DUDE. Hahaha. That was awesome, but sooo unfair, I felt like I was playing Mega Man X for the first time.

Tomorrow I'll see what's the deal with the rest of the swords, maybe try a couple of Enemy Lairs.

Get all the swords for a super sweet boss fight.

I have 91 now.

It's pretty cool that the white barriers lead to mini-dungeons with the other character's bosses.

But... "Total Pandemonium" Enemy Lair? HOLY ****. How did you beat that? I could only get through the first results screen thingy.

....refresh my memory. What do you fight in that one?

almost finished ratchet & clank and prey. taking a break from the latter though to play pop 2008 because i didn't feel like waiting. from the half hour i played, it looks great but was definitely weird to control after the sands trilogy. feels way looser. it's not a bad thing though; i like that they were willing to try something a little different.

ratchet & clank rocks. looking forward to going through the rest of the series.
red chamber dream
also holy crap the faster prince speed is a welcome change. especially when hanging from ledges.

Not to spoil anything, but I don't think I've ever not wanted to do what the game forces you to do more than the ending of PoP08. Really disconnected me from the character and what he was doing, which is not a good thing.

You fight everything, apparently. I hear it has five phases, I could only get through the first one, with the tons of ninjas and then an army of smoke bosses and then some.
I'm almost done with my first playthrough of Estpolis, here's what I think of the game:

+ Better character designs, good adaption to the steampunk setting.
+ Characters have more personality.
+ Most events from the original are still there.
+ Battling and grinding is fun, the game's also not too long (15-20h for a playthrough) so you don't get tired of grinding.
+ Grinding is rewarded with blue items for both the ancient cave and the NG+
+ Good platforming puzzles that are not too easy overall
+ There's some sort of sphere-board (like in FFX) that adds to character customization and helps to prepare for the ancient cave

- The game's pacing gets pretty annoying near the end. Lots of "go there, talk, go there, talk" etc.
- WhatTheFuckDidTheyDoToYou@Sinistrals D: , they look all like zombies and don't differ much in their designs. There's also some suprise there ...
- Grindfest. Might not be fun for everyone.
- There are only about 15 locations to visit.
- So many events will take at one place instead of being spread over the whole world.
- Iris is part of the party (though not playable). Kinda kills her role I think
- Feels like there is no real balancing, game can be really easy if you want it to be
- No puzzles like whe know them from the original :(
One shall stand, one shall ball.

The music is the same though right? This is the most important thing.
Oh, yes, sure. Kinda quoted that from another forum where I had already said some stuff about the game.

Now that you remind me, I forgot ...

- Sound issues. Not very noticable when using the DS speaker, but there's a noticable amount of static when using headphones.

Sucks a lot since the best available music quality is what you would want to roll with for this game. :(

Bought Fragile Dreams yesterday. Played it for about one hour just now, because I actually managed to die that early in the game!
Controls are roughly the same as Shattered Memories. You've got a flashlight to move with your wiimote and move exactly the same as Harry using the nunchuck. my only gripe is that the wiimote controls are a bit less smooth, so moving the camera's kinda annoying at first since you have to move your wiimote quite a bit (and hold it in that angle).
Atmosphere's okay. Not really scary, but that might change for some places later on. Combat seems to be fun, I'm already loving the combat music.
What I have died to was btw a really unexpected enemy. That was way more scary than Shattered Memories's nightmares.

Now going to finish Estpolis. There's some more ancient cave farming ahead, once I'm done with that I'll go fly to doom island.
Don't know if you guys care, since the game will probably not even get a US release, but I can tell you some details about new/changed game mechanics if you want me to.

I... I did it. I freaking did it. Total Pandemonium, you're history.

Here's what I'm talking about. Yes, it says Part 1 of 3, because this challenge lasts FOREVER.

Crouch-stabbing saved my life against the waves of ninjas. Then I was a cheating sissy and used an Accessory that restores my life bar 2% every few seconds, so when there was only one enemy left of a wave I just kept running from left to right until my energy was full. Boss fight at the end was retarded, I never mashed a button so much in my life, and I'm a shmup enthusiast. Can't believe I have to do this AGAIN as Momohime, but I think I'm gonna have even stronger Blades.

Level 99 now, at least Kisuke is maxed out.

I'm so dumb, you don't get new areas when you clear the white barriers, they're just the other character's boss areas. I visited the sky and Hell as Kisuke today.
One shall stand, one shall ball.

Congrats Da Dood. I honestly don't remember how I cleared that one, but I may have already been at 99.
Dood Trigger™
Done, all 108 swords! :)

The second ending was greeeeat with the "secret" boss fight.

I still have to clear Total Pandemonium as Momohime, and Level her up to 99 (she's at 88, I think, can't even wield the Oboro). I'll do that and watch the third ending for each character tomorrow. THEN I'll be done with the game.

(No 1 HP cap mode for me, definitely...)

Playing Bioshock 2. Maybe it's because I went in with lowered expectations, but I'm really not finding a lot to complain about. Obviously not as good as the first, but it does make some key gameplay improvements that I really like. Dunno why everybody's hating on it.

it gets very repetitive if you gather all the adam with all the little sisters. way more so than the first. at least that's the big reason i can think of. looking forward to playing it again and just resolving them all right away.
Club 27 Goals
Speaking of Bioshock I had this really freaky dream the other night that I was kinda-sorta in Bioshock. In my dream I could see everything like I normally would with my eyes, only I was controlling the guy you play as and I could see the UI and stuff. All I remember from it is walking through about chest-high water when all of a sudden there are tons of dead bodies floating in the water around me, and then some guy laughing in the distance. The lights shut off and I could hear something going through the water closer to me, so I quickly hit the ESC key, saved, and closed the game.

I don't want to play bioshock anymore ._.

bioshock ftw. might actually make a good film.

"Resolving" is really a wonderful term for it.

Just played the best game of Heroes 3 ever. Playing as Rampart against two opponents I wiped out one AI player around week 2 then went scouting for the other and found one of his towns shortly after with my main hero. I took it with a pretty small army that didn't even have tier 7 units then successfully defended it against against his counter attack a couple days after then I went off to scout the last town. I found it, saved the game, then charged into battle just for the hell of it. He had 4 Behemoths, ~17 Ogre Mages, 30-ish Orc Cheiftans, and enough of Wolf Raiders and Hobgoblins to be annoying. I had 5 War Unicorns, 30+ Grand Elves, 20 Battle Dwarves, 15 Silver Pegasi, and 10 Dendroid Solders. Pretty much all I could do was sit there and try to lure something out of the walls and watch the towers own my Elves. Fortunately I managed to sneak my Unicorns in , so at least I could watch them and my Pegasi die inside the walls fighting the Ogres, Orcs and Behemoths instead of outside. Then it was a slow process of watching everyone on the field die one by one. Ultimately it came down to my ten Dendroids against their remaining Behemoth and a few Orcs. I wrote off the battle pretty early on when my dudes were all getting owned and I wasn't sure what I was going to kill the Behemoths with, but those Dendroids never gave up, not when three of them died getting to the Behemoth and three more fell in the initial attack. My turn came back around and I checked the Behemoth's remaining HP and started laughing my ass off, those wonderful trees could do just enough damage to kill the Behemoth, I was actually going to win. They mopped up the Orcs next turn and that was pretty much the end of the game, he had a couple of crappy heroes out exploring, but I only found one before they ran out of time to claim a new town.

But this isn't about winning the round, this is about those four goddamned heroes I was tossing into the fire so I could reload the save and fight the battle for real later. I've been underestimating Dendroid Soldiers all this time, I always figured that they were purely defensive units, doing a bit of damage, locking down one of the enemy's tougher units and absorbing the damage so the more valuable units didn't have to. They actually hit pretty hard once you get them into the fight. So there were are, Dendroid's own and I wish I could have a Dendroid hero instead of elf or dwarf ones. Rampart is full of racists.

Well, finished it off. Other than a few quirks, I'd say overall the gameplay is a step up from Bioshock 1. The story, though... not so much. Nothing even close to resembling a plot twist, which is a big letdown after "would you kindly." And Elanore might as well have been named Mary Sue.

Oh well.
