Still trekking through Secret of Mana.  Currently at the Empire, seeking a way to the Ruins.

I love how my team randomly decides if they want to do really good or really bad.  Sometimes they get killed almost immediately in the first room of a dungeon, other times we can clear out the whole thing with no issues.  I really don't understand it, but whatever.  Cheezing bosses really helps (Thanks, Quietus :D), though some are just easy enough without it.

I'm having so much fun with this game that I think I might actually finish it!  :O

Bosses are easy as shit in SoM if you just find their weakness and spam magic at them with the Midge Mallet trick.

I don't remember it too clearly, so I'm barrelling along. I've got a Croconaw, Flaaffy, Togepi, Furret and Pidgey. Their unevolved forms got shredded by the level 18 Bayleef though.

When did they change the amount of money you lost for blacking out? I only lost 256 moneys when I should've lost well over 3000.

Playing a bit of Diablo 2.  I keep getting thrown by some items now having orange names, as I think RARE, but it's just the runes.  I feel much happier now that Iron Maiden has been removed from those damned Oblivion Knights.  It makes Act IV less of a pain in the arse when you're not insta-killing yourself.  I can't say that the new patch has made any other changes that really affect me.  Currently playing as a Paladin with Zeal as my main skill - rapid-fire death, and I'm soon to acquire Fanatacism, so it'll be even faster rapid-fire death. =)
Borrowed Tatsunoko VS. Capcom of a friend. At first, I thought the gameplay was primitive and dull, but you can create depth in the way you play, and the emphasis on hypercombos is... interesting. Graphics are great, movements are a bit clunky, if you ask me, and it is INCREDIBLY easy with the default settings. I wouldn't buy it myself, I'd rather get SFIV. It also has the most epic Shin Shoryuken I've ever seen, and Chun-Li is as leggy as ever.

I'm still waiting on a proper Capcom vs. Namco fighting game. That would rock.

That would be much better if her thighs were not the size of a small African village. It's just scary, really.

You can have her.  Cammy's my girl. wub

Equally terrifying, though.

Okay, I started a game of Voltorb Flip a while ago, and it's twenty five to 10pm. What just happened?!

Shattered Memories update. The nightmares are cool, though they play a lot like an action game to me. They're not too frightening after a while.

I'm now at the nightmare after Cybil told Harry that he isn't Harry...

I think this is the best story in the Silent Hill series so far.
Dood Trigger™
It gets even better, trust me.

Muramasa is done, Momohime's story at least.

12 hours, Level 56, only 38 Blades acquired.

Three more Enemy Lairs done, for a total of six. One of them was pretty tough (Seven Samurai), the other one not so bad (giant soldier army), the third a piece of cake, an optional monster boss.

The final boss was awesome. Kinda easy, especially since I'm playing on the difficult mode...

Unlocked a sword (will let me clear the last barrier type, I assume), the hardest difficulty mode (1 HP cap, LOLers) and the ability to warp to any save point (TOTALLY should have been there from the beginning). They say I can unlock a new ending if I get all swords.

The story... I didn't pay much attention to it, but the cutscenes sucked. For such a beautiful "art" game, visually polished, you'd think they would actually animate some scenes instead of just placing sprites next to each other with text. Pity, because those bosses would look twice as menacing if they said their lines outside of their idle animation...

One of my major complaints about the game is that there's virtually no way to identify where you are if you don't check the map, since most areas reuse backgrounds and stuff. The mini-map is fine, it works just like Metroid and Castlevania, and it's actually quite helpful because it marks the rooms you've visited, if there are any treasures around, and other stuff like save rooms and merchants.

The combat is great, if repetitive, but I'd say it's more so because you're "forced" to fight every couple of rooms than because of mechanics, which are quite impressive and - I dare say - inventive.

With an extra touch of Metroid - via mobility upgrades and more environment interaction - this could be a classic. As is, it's a pretty cool game, but loses a bit from repetition. The visuals are insanely beautiful and there is a ton to do once you beat the game.

I'll see if I feel like starting the Kisuke story, one Act a day doesn't seem so bad, and it'll be over by the time the Mega Man 10 DLC arrives.
Mister ...
In Secret of Mana, I got Flammie, I have 6/8 orbs with the latest one being Light.  Everyone's level 40, and we about destroyed the last dungeon so I'm wondering if I'm not a little over-powered?  Knight seems to dodge about 90% of attacks, otherwise takes little damage (took 0 despite being chewed up by the Blue Spikey) while everyone else just wails on everything.  If the guide I was reading hadn't said "If you don't buy this armor, you're fucked", I probably could've skipped out on it altogether.  Princess probably heals about ~300 each character, which is just under their max HP (Knight is now ~400)

Now I just gotta figure out where to go next.  I was supposed to be looking for someone on the Golden Island, but had no luck, so I have a feeling I might have to go back to Cloud Tops and see if he didn't find his way there on his own.  I'm sure someone'll drop a hint sooner or later though.  :\

How many "of Mana" games are there? I know there Children of Mana and Heroes of Mana, are all of these games linked?

Dratini, fools. Got it after a couple hours of Voltorb Flip. Jesus, is it easy to get coins.

I was extremely sad when they removed the slot machines (Thanks EU -.-) but Voltorb Flip is extremely addicting xD

Yeah they are, but most people avoid most of the series because, quite frankly, it's got a lot of shiity games in it. Final Fantasy Adventure, Secret of Mana, and Seiken Densetsu 3 are really the only games in the series that are truly worth playing.

Hell yeah. Much more satisfying too. Although I heard that the US didn't get the slots either, since it was the non-japanese countries that got the game. I'm not too sure though.
Picked up Aria of Sorrow again. Raped Death, and got to that wondeful point in all metroidvania games where you're extremely powerful, and few enemies pose a genuine threat to you, but you've still got to watch your back most of the time.

Decided to pick up from where I left off in Half Life 2 way back when I rented the Orange Box the first time. Apparently I left off in Ravenholm or whatever it is. Got out of there, ended up in a dune buggy with a laser gun, and now I'm bossing around giant ant lions.

Overall I have to say I'm... underwhelmed. Maybe it's got something to do with not usually liking FPS in the first place, but I keep expecting HL2 to amaze me like it's apparently supposed to and it's not. It all feels... dull, I suppose. It probably doesn't help that I'm coming into it years after it's revolutionary physics have spread to pretty much every single game made since, and that kind of lessens the impact of the whole thing. The lack of background music isn't really helping things along either.

Also, am I supposed to know what the fuck is going on? I never played HL1 and about all I know about the story to that one is Black Mesa ripped a hole into another dimension or some such and then Gordon Freeman killed a bunch of shit with a crowbar and then was frozen. But if I'm supposed to already know who these Combine people are and why they're shooting at me then either I forgot something from the first time I played or this game is really bad at exposition.

If you don't like FPSs in the first place, then it definitely won't impress you. And those Combine are shooting Gordon because the teleporter experiment in the beginning went wrong, giving a few glimpses of him to Dr. Breen, who then ordered them to hunt him down.

Well, I'll keep on chuggin', if only because otherwise I wouldn't use like 80% of the content on TOB, and that somehow feels wrong to me. It's bad enough TF2 is on there and I'll never play it due to the fact that I'm not paying money to have 12-year-olds swear at me when I can do that for free on other platforms.
You should definitely check out Portal, if you haven't already. I was underwhelmed by HL2, but Portal is something really special.

Of course I checked out Portal. It's the reason I bought the damn thing.

No, the Combine come in between the two games, so you've basically got everything you need to know from HL1 if I remember right. They basically came in somewhere in the middle and won control of Earth in something like seven hours because we couldn't fight back that well against them. (One of the things they're doing while in charge is putting up a field that prevents new humans from being born, for instance.)

But yeah, it's basically because Gordon is the primary target due to his actions in the first game, and the a vast majority of people see him as a savior/leader that will free them from the Combine occupation.

When do they say this? Seems like something I'd remember. aiwebs_013

Really? I was massively sceptical about Portal, expecting it to be one of those overhyped games that no one seems to care is overhyped. I bought it for HL2, which is one of those overhyped games.
