I've played through the game dozens of times by now, so it's pissing me off that I can't figure out exactly what part you're talking about.  Is it the pit that you need to lower a drawbridge over ?

No. You know the room that has eight candles in it, and two of those hold 5000 point items? The one that requires using a floating platform to access? It's that part.
Ah ok.  Did you just keep forgetting that the pit was there?

Yes. Several times. Every time I play a Castlevania game, I instinctively hold the direction going away from the entrance.

Re-installed Black & White 2 again last night. For sure in my top 10 fav games of all time. Most people I've talked to about it though either love it, hate it, don't care, or have never heard of it.
I never played it, and was put off upon discovering it was Molyneux's brainchild.

So you don't like the fact that Lionhead made it? What about the Fable series?
Mister ...
Just beat BioShock, and saving BioShock 2 for tomorrow.  Fucking.  Amazing.  The game was just amazing from start to finish, and I'm expecting great(er) things from the sequel as well.  We'll see though ... we'll see.
red chamber dream
it's pretty good.
Not impossible
just highly unlikely
I never played B&W2 because the first one bored the shit out of me. Fable is pretty okay, but in the end it's pretty much a poor man's Oblivion and a poor man's Zelda stapled together.

Still going through Mass Effect 1. Got the bulk of those shitty Mako side missions out of the way, so I'll pretty much be able to run through the story missions one after the other. Good times.

So my friend sends me a link to that game, and I play it and fall in love with it. I go on /f/ and see a few things about it, including the song, then someone says something about /v/ so I go on there and OH MY GOD.

My current highscore is 16.7K, doing pretty shitty though. Anyone else going to try?

Never played any of his games, because he seems to be a massive twat, which is only endearing if you're Hideo Kojima.
Rayman 2: The Great Escape. Holy shit, I'd completely forgotten how good this game is. This was Rayman in the good old days, before that stupid Raving Rabids garbage got around.

Okay, I had to stop playing that game after five seconds for fear of losing my heterosexuality. I know Adult Swim's capable of some weird shit, but this just goes overboard.
What? That game's some awesome shit.

I also went to /v/, fucking lol'd.

Getting my ass kicked on Blaster Master: Overdrive, but still loving it.  Area 3 is not easy, and I think there are 8 levels total.  The map is very metroid-like.  In the original game, you used some kind of elevator/teleporter to move between areas, but on this one the map is all connected.  You can enter higher levels from the get go, but you can't get far without the proper upgrade to your tank.  It's cool how they let you take a peek of the harder areas though.  Definitely one thing that they have held onto from the original is the need to avoid hits so that your gun stays powerful.  I've reset the game after getting hit probably 20 times by now.  How I ever used to play through the original in one sitting without losing my gun's power is beyond me - I simply don't have the skill and patience that I used to  :(.  I do wish that there were more save points than there are, but at the same time I'm very happy that they exist at all.  These enemies are relentless and if you don't keep moving then the entire screen fills up with projectiles, leaving only 10% of the total floor safe to stand on.  One hit and it's time to reset.  I'm still loving it though.

BMO is frikkin hard.  Even with the addition of the map screen, it's easy to get lost.  It's a typical map screen which shows the shape and size of each room along with the entrances/exits, as well as save points and caves.  It does not, however, show the physical obstructions within each room that prevent you from accessing the caves or exits.  It fools you into thinking that the exit is right around the corner, but then you realize that to get to that part of the room, you have to backtrack and go around some bullshit obstacle.  The grappling hook is not easy to use since it takes a full second or so to aim your cannon upwards, making jumping->aiming up->firing a difficult thing to pull off.  Not to mention the fact that once you land on a platform after grappling to it, you must very quickly switch to your cannon to take on any enemies that are waiting in ambush.  Switching to your cannon requires you to toggle through your other upgrades, which can mean pressing A four or more times before you can shoot.  Another shitty thing about the controls is the fact that there is only one control scheme - wiimote held sideways.  When in top down view (on foot) you have to hold B in order to strafe (hold position while firing).  The B button is on the bottom side of the wiimote and is awkward to use while holding it sideways like that, especially for someone like me who uses their fingers on the buttons instead of thumbs.  I'm also wishing that there were more difficulty settings.  I'd like to beat this game on easy mode first, like I did with Castlevania Adventure Rebirth.  I gotta beat this game if it kills me.

I have that game for Sega Saturn.  I've beat that a number of times...  IMO (and iirc) he's easiest with Evil Sakura.  But it has been quite a long time since I've played it. Think
The PS1 version is harder because you need to get two rounds on him.

I'm so fucking pissed.  There's a jump you have to do on BMO that is very hard to pull off, if you miss you end up falling to the bottom of a room and it takes a long time to get back to the top to try it again.  If you make the jump, you get to the level 4 boss, and if you die then you have to reload at a point that's before the difficult jump so you have to try again.  I really didn't feel like attempting the jump 100 times again, so once I made the jump I watched the boss fight on youtube in hopes that I could avoid any trial-and-error deaths and not have to reload.  The guy on youtube went into the boss with the lowest possible firepower and minimal health, yet killed the boss after 7 minutes.  I went into the fight with full firepower and maximum health thinking that it would be cake since I knew what to do.  I lasted about a minute!  There are huge numbers of projectiles on the screen, and you think you are in the clear but then they end up nailing you because the top-down 3.5D isn't very clear.  You think that the bullet is going to pass you but then - BAM!  you're dead.  Now I have to start all fucking over again.  I think I need to play something else for a while - I'm fucking steamed.

EDIT:  Finally killed him by just concentrating on dodging and nothing else while holding down rapid fire on my homing weapon.  It took a very long time since the weapon is so weak, but I didn't have to aim at all.  On the area 5 - the heat/lava area.  I'm sure at least some death awaits me there. Thinking about backtracking for power ups.

EDIT2:  OK this game is getting ridiculous now.  There are so many projectiles on the screen at one time that they make up the majority of the screen, and the windows you have in which to dodge them are so tiny.  Add in the fact that you are looking downwards at what appears to be a 60 degree angle, and you are practically guessing at whether or not they are going to hit you.  Ugh.

just finished jak & daxter. definitely turned into a much better game as it went on, but i still consider it vastly inferior to some contemporary platformers. interested in playing the second one though.
