Yeah RE3 was the first horror game I played and finished by myself iirc. I don't remember much about it so it can't have been difficult.
Yeah, it's really not that bad. It was just like beating the game normally, except I didn't skip fights as much.
I think I found something scarier than Silent Hill: permadeath Silent Hill.
Rules:
1. No saving, no continues;
2. No unlockable weapons or bullet adjust;
3. GOOD+ ending;
4. Hard difficulty.
I swear, in these conditions, every death you ever had in your history with the game is suddenly a crystal clear memory. "Wait, I got mobbed in the sewer once when I was a kid, oh no, it's gonna happen again." LOL. This was fun, though. SH1 is still a horror masterpiece, and playing it this way makes it even more intense.
Incubus aka Not Samael was stupid with the lightning stunlocks. Insta red health, unless you spam heal. I was able to run in circles somewhat close to him, and used L2 + R2 to aim with the Rifle. Pretty sure this guy dies automatically if you empty your guns before the fight, but I wasn't about to Science this at the risk of starting the whole run over.
The lighthouse path was also scary, because the game runs at like 3 fps there and you have to navigate some really narrow corridors. Sewer and Nowhere were fine, I had a pretty comfy supply of boomstick ammo. Hospital was free with MC Emergency Hammer.
Challenge Rating: 6/10
We all know the game by heart at this point, so this isn't too tough. I just got so nervous knowing one death = full reset. The school kicked my butt, and that was still early in the game. I used like 10 heals there, barely had ammo when I left, haha. To be fair, the difficulty takes a nosedive after that, but I was still worried the whole time.
