heh i found what i thought seemed like several sequence breaks just by jumping around. i got up to the top of that tower thing in the first stage, and some guy up there says to fly around and collect some shit. so now i know you can fly in this game, lol. but knowing banjo i would have already guessed that

I've been playing Persona 5 almost exclusively for the past week and a half. It's been pretty amazing so far. Everything about this game is stylish as fuck, right down to the menus and interface. Atlus really stepped up the production value in this one.

I'm looking forward to playing that, assuming it won't feel as slow as P3
The worlds are pretty big but I found the quills to be much easier to find than other secondary Rare collectibles. They're mostly along the way or out in the open at least, very few of them feel like they've been purposefully hidden considering the many opportunities for doing so.

Well, I can't say it's necessarily faster, but it's definitely a way more polished game overall. The battle system is a lot better and brings back the demon interactions from mainline MegaTen games. The randomly generated gauntlet is relegated to a side area, with handcrafted story dungeons taking up most of your time (and they're fantastic). The art and music direction are tight as hell and the writing and characters have been pretty entertaining for me. I'm about 47 hours in right now and I'm still having a blast.
I felt P5 was rather slow. Lots of flavor text that only serves to rack up the timer and interrupt the actual gameplay, lots of unnecessary dialogue in the main dungeons to district you from playing the game as much as possible.  I enjoyed the randomly generated stuff in 3&4 a  lot more.
I, personally, would take anything over Tartarus-esque gauntlets. Mindlessly wandering around 260-something floors got super boring over time. At least the normal dungeons in P5 have different layouts and themes to mix things up.

20/25 Pagies in Tribalstack Tropics. Definitely gets tiring after so long. I'm 8 hours into the game and pretty much all that time was spent in this one place. On the plus side it feels good being so familiar with the area that you can get anywhere you want in no time.

Pagies I know I'm missing:
- Wall guys blowing wind (near mine cart)
- Inside the monument (security thing)
- Underwater with the wall guy blowing water
- Flying atop the Trowzer ruins

No idea about the 25th. I did the second cloud race, Rextro high score, Jinjos/whatever the ghosts are. Can't think of any other mini-game or challenge that could be hiding a second Pagie.

Also missing 13 Quills. These are what I'm most worried about because they could be anywhere. I'll try exploring a little bit more tomorrow... if I can't find anything I'll move on to the second world.

Well that's kind of disappointing, because I really want to like this game but I also hate super slow RPGs.

I tried playing Dragon's Dogma over the last few days and just could NOT get into it after the initial few hours because ITS SO, GOD, DAMN, SLOW.
One shall stand, one shall ball.
Dragon's Dogma is slow? I mean there's a shit load of side quests, but that's all just a vehicle for fighting more large monsters when you're taking a break from throwing everyone you see off the nearest cliff. You can run through the story fairly quickly if that's your goal.

Glitterglaze Glacier appears to be fully explored before the expansion. I only have 8/25 Pagies, though, so maybe not.

First time I got seriously pissed at the game... I was doing the truck transformation quest where you need to return 5 hats to 5 snowmen. I had all hats but couldn't find the last snowman, and I figured, whatever, I'll find him later. I left the area to check something in the hub and when I came back the game erased all that quest progress. Gotta do the slow ass truck platforming 5 times all over again. Ugh.

Pretty cool level overall, though. It's big, but not confusing (pre-expansion at least). The dark gem cave was really fun and challenging.

Will expand the area tomorrow.

18/25 Pagies in Glitterglaze Glacier. Everything else is done, including all Quills, which gives you a Pagie, which solves the mystery of the one Pagie I didn't know about in the first world. No idea where the remaining Quills are there, but still.

The ice world expansion was pretty interesting mainly because it's self-contained. Having just the one new area to explore makes it easier to keep track of stuff (although this specific new area is a maze >_>). At least it was easier than what the first world did by adding a bunch of new buildings and platforms all over the map. But man, there's this one Pagie that you can't grab without a later move, and they make you go through a relatively long path in the maze for it. I walked out of there with nothing. Bet I'll have to do all the little room challenges again when I come back... *sigh*

Pagies I'm missing:
- Jinjos (last guy is encased in a block of ice, I go up there with the fire breath but it doesn't melt... oh well)
- Five hats
- Color crystals inside the cave
- Tub (isometric palace)
- I can see a Pagie chest super high, out in the open
- Encased in ice (isometric palace)
- Ice block and sunlight (isometric palace)

Will probably do a new world tomorrow. I think I sequence broke part of the hub and now I have access to 2 new worlds plus the cloak move. I did a weird glide into the second quiz room and bypassed one of the ledge handle things. I assume you get that in the third world, so it's not really a big skip. At least the quiz guy wasn't asking hard questions.
To save you a bunch of time: For some reason there's ice that needs fire, and there's ice that needs something entirely different that isn't exactly self-evident.

Pretty sure you can already get that one if you beat the furnace boss

I think I'm just in the mood for something arcadey. That is one thing I miss about the old arcade games, you put a quarter in and you just fucking GO.

That's fair, you don't get many games that work like that these days unfortunately. :/

I just liked Dragon's Dogma a lot and will die on its hill. :v

Dude I had my birthday at our local arcade for 6 years in a row until they shut it down and replaced it with a sushi restaurant. That shit was sooooo cash. My mom would complain every year to pick a new place to have my birthday but for two hours we unlimited plays on every machine.

Oh no doubt it's a good game, I watched a buddy of mine play it a few years ago. He was pretty far into the game and I remember he was pretty much just adventuring around killing a gryphon and going into a dungeon to kill more things. Seemed really fun, maybe the speed picks up but it just felt like the beginning was really slow.

Escorting that caravan was so painful, and I didn't find out until the very end that you could kick the ox to make it run faster.

Oh yeah that quest is super slow, especially since it's early and you just might not be able to deal with the type of enemies they throw at you efficiently. That game certainly has issues but it got Action RPG combat down better than like any other game, fighting big monsters rules in Dragon's Dogma and that's basically never the case in games. Just climbing up a Cyclops and stabbin in the fuckin eye until it dies or gets tired of your shit and just straight up eats you owns.

13/25 Pagies in Moodymaze Marsh with expansion...

My fault, though, for not seeing Trowzer near the start of the freaking world. Haha. Pretty sure a couple of those Pagies I got weren't designed to be possible without the new moves, so I'm happy about that at least. Now I have Lizard Lash and the bomb. Will get everything I can tomorrow... was too tired to re-explore the whole place after acquiring the new powers.

The world is alright. I like the mood (ha, I get the name!) and how it's mostly a flat area.
Dood Trigger™
Only 2 Pagies missing in Moodymaze Marsh:
- All Quills
- Cracked glass in a room you access underwater

Plus the battery, no idea where it could be. I get a feeling that the cracked glass is possible now and I'm just missing something. I did some awkward platforming on various little parts sticking out of walls to reach the other glass panels there, apparently the Quills I'm missing are all in this room.

I'll move on to the casino and will try this again later. Closest I've been to completing an area!

The casino world in Yooka-Laylee is pretty cool. It has the right atmosphere for this sort of area and you're basically 100% free to explore with the flying ability.

I have 5/25 actual Pagies, but this level has its own progression system where you collect tokens and exchange them for Pagies. 10 tokens = 1 Pagie. I haven't exchanged yet, must be at about 15 or 16 Pagies total. You get most tokens by completing challenges like usual, and generally you get multiple tokens as a reward, so each attraction in the casino essentially gives you half a Pagie. A lot of challenges here are kind of annoying, but I'm enjoying the area overall.

This world is sooo glitchy, though. I mentioned earlier that I have the flying ability, but you don't actually get it in this level... the only reason I have it is because the game locked my controls after dying to the boss and I was forced to reset (Trowzer appeared outside as if I had left the area on my own and gave me the move). This bug happened not once or twice, but four times. I also got the camera stuck in an angle forever, haha. Come on, Playtonic.

And that boss fight, holy moly... so dumb. As if minecart movement isn't already a pain in the ass, they make you fight a boss while riding one. Good thing this area is fun to explore, otherwise those things would've killed it for me definitely.

Gonna hopefully finish most things there later.

You level up, you can play as different classes, you get loot and spend your gold to buy more loot and potions, and it's got some cheesy story too
