So I started a new playthrough of FFT since I've been on kind of an FF binge lately. I'm almost at Riovanes, so hopefully I've prepped well enough for it (bleh). I made Ramza a Samurai ASAP and maxed out his Bravery so I could pretty much dodge every one of Wiegraf's attacks with Shirahadori. As for the rest of my party, I got a Ninja who can one-shot pretty much any squishy unit in sight, a Summoner with Swiftness, and a White Mage who I'm just gonna max out before eventually making her an Arithmatician. I have no clue what I'm gonna do with any of the unique party members. Then again, I don't even have half of them yet so maybe it's too early to plan that out anyway.
Messed up the attachment before. Oops.

Not impossible
just highly unlikely
I should really get back to FFT. I got to chapter 2 and they gave me a bunch of new units and I got stressed out trying to figure out what to do with everything so I just stopped.
Is it Gaffgarion and those three other people?

I don't remember. Probably.
Yeah, kick them all out (Except Gaffgarion and Agrias, obviously).
Don't worry about them.

Noted.

Speaking of Xerneas, how 'bout dat Sun and Moon, yo?
red chamber dream
i am so pumped. was expecting z, but a new gen is even better
red chamber dream
quite ready for some shakeups to the metagame especially
Hopefully there's some semblance of a post-game, now.
X&Y and ORAS were rushed as hell in that regard.
red chamber dream
for sure. i'm thinking since they cheesed so hard with oras that they might have gone all out on this one

they already had the 3d models, aside from any new mons, after all ... and rumors are it's going to have the last amount of new mons, so hopefully they spent more time on the postgame

Finished Final Fight for the SNES. First time.

I know classic beat-'em-ups tend to retain some aspects of their coin-op origins, but this one seems more like a flat arcade port with cut content than something actually balanced for console play. Enemies walk at the speed of sound in your direction, and the bosses are this whole unique brand of cheap. Grabbing you from half a screen... dealing near full HP damage... inexplicable invulnerability periods (effin' Sodom/Katana). I still don't know how to fight Abigail even after beating the game and watching videos. Of course, as always, I'm aware of the possibility that I'm just not very good at the game, and I've seen people play it pretty consistently. But so far I don't have the best impression of it. There's also a lot of lag in the SNES version which can make certain moves not come out when you press the button. And you can't play as Guy. Lame.

Another dumb thing is that you don't continue on the spot when you game over. This isn't uncommon in beat-'em-ups, but considering how quickly your life drains in this game, you'd think they'd let you use all those extra credits you managed to hold on to. There's a hidden options menu where you can adjust the # of lives to 9 and the difficulty. I didn't access it 'cause I'm stubborn and I wanted to beat the game as if I didn't know about the secrets, haha. In hindsight, I should have avoided the headache.

It's too bad because the gameplay is pretty satisfying when the game cooperates. I like how you can chain a regular combo into a back throw. I picked Cody because as far as I know he doesn't appear in FF2 or 3. He looks awesome too, IMO much cooler than his prisoner look in the Street Fighter games.

I gotta try FF2 and 3 sometime.

So far TP HD is more or less what I expected.  I'm no expert on HD, but it just seems like they took away the excessive use of bloom that drove everyone crazy.  I've also noticed a couple of little changes even though I'm still at the beginning of the game.  Examples: the cat takes the first fish you catch instead of the second fish.  Just little tweaks and unexpected things.  I'm playing normal mode so I can get the gamecube layout.  If I play hero mode now, then I will get the mirrored wii ver and that's the one I'm used to, and I'd rather play the one that I'm NOT used to.  Wish you could just choose the layout independently of choosing hero/normal but oh well.

You also go up and down ladders much faster.

From what I've heard, TP HD does enough tweaks and improvements to make it the definitive version of the game, but doesn't do nearly as much as WW HD as far as improving the big complaints about the game.
For some bizarre reason, they made Epona nearly impossible to ride.  The part where you save Colin by chasing after the king bulblin and then jousting him on the bridge usually takes me about 2 minutes total, but it just took me nearly an hour and many deaths.  To put it as simply as I can, you can't TURN your horse.  If you want to turn a little bit, nothing happens.  So naturally you push the joystick a little harder.  Still nothing happens.  The only turns you can make are if you push the joystick completely right or completely left, which makes Epona do a very hard turn about 2 seconds AFTER you push in either direction.  I noticed immediately after I got my horse that I could pretty much only go in a straight line.  You run into walls and then have to wait 10 seconds for Epona to stop mashing her head against the wall and rear/turn around, only to run into the next wall she's facing at the time.  The only way I could do the Colin part was going in straight lines and hoping to come across king bulblin by luck.  The bridge part was only possible by not moving on my horse at all and waiting for him to come to me, then doing a spin attack at exactly the right moment before he hits me.  If you run towards him, Epona just rams him since you can't turn and you go flying off the bridge.  I don't know if this is a mistake, or if they're trying to sell pro controllers, or if there's some item you get later in the game that makes Epona ride-able but as is it's completely awful.
Have you maybe been sprinting? That sounds unbelievably awful.
Oh no, you seem to be right. Other people are reporting the same issue with Epona. Wow.

sounds like it's probably just a bug
I read that they 'improved' the Epona controls, but I really can't figure out how they expect me to control Epona.  I was able to luck my way through the Colin save, but now I'm completely unable to get through the part where you have to escort the wagon with Ralis in it.  I've failed like 6 times in a row now.  I don't think I've ever failed at this task before, so it was weird to see them burn alive.  The horse is not controllable.  I just end up running into walls and screaming at god while the cart runs out of sight and burns.  I'm not even getting close.
