Awesome, thanks!

Got Mewtwo. Time to do Classic with the rest of the characters for Mr. Game & Watch (that's all I need, right?). I may or may not attempt the rest of the events if they're not too obnoxious.

I think I'm safely over my hump in FFT. Turns out that an archer with a bow gun is a huge liability, and once I turned her back into a squire I had a hell of an easier time with the mission. Now I've got Razma properly decked out in knight gear and he can tank like a motherfucker, my archer has a proper bow, and things are generally looking up. I might even class change my chemist soon because I might not need her as much anymore, but I'd reeeeealy like to get that throw item skill first before I do. We shall see how the next few battles go.
Item throwing isn't really that handy past the early game. You'll eventually have extremely mobile units and fast casters that will supplant the need for chucking potions across the battlefield. That being said, I've found that it's actually not too bad of an idea to let one of your Chemists master the job before moving on to any others. The other Chemist can progress down the Black Mage job path at your will and leisure (for the most part anyway).

Is getting Cloud worth it? It looks like a fairly complicated process. Is he legit good or is it just a fan jizz thing and he's no better or worse than anyone else?
Nope, he's pretty bad. Especially at the point in the game you get him.

Unlocked Mr. Game & Watch and cleared all 51 Events. Phew. Never want to do that again I'm sure, haha.

To be fair, I had little trouble with the last All-Star fight, Pikachu & Pichu, the G&W event and the Fire Emblem one. Crazy + Master Hand crushed me more than I should have allowed them, though. Their moves are really easy to spot, but I'd often get nervous or screwed by the RNG and they'd both attack with perfect timing. Majora's Mask was hell. I spammed Kirby's stone move in the middle section until everything died. Pretty sure I got a lucky enemy set there too.

I did #51 the easy way with Puff and Rest. I think I earned a little cheese after all that. :)

As far as gameplay content, I'm only missing a few arenas. Seems like a nice point to take a break. I'll come back to this some other time for sure. Awesome game, and definitely better than Brawl. Wish Melee had Brawl's roster, that would be so much fun.

You might want to check out Project M if you haven't already. It's a very simple process, you just load some files onto an SD card and pop it into your Wii, no hard modding or software modifications necessary. It will basically transform Brawl into Melee.

oh wow i didn't know it was that easy

might have to check it out myself

I haven't personally done it, full disclosure.

You do need an NTSC-U Wii it looks like, not sure if that's a problem for you dood.
Dood Trigger™
Mine is NTSC-U, so yay! Thanks for the info!

Finished a quick red line playthrough of Star Fox 64. It's been 5 or 6 years since I last played this. Bought the Wii VC version recently but I hadn't touched it yet. Feels weird playing this game on a fresh file without my brother's high scores filling up the whole ranking table. That dude used to be crazy good at this.

Still an awesome game. Some things feel better and some feel worse on VC... the controls are super sensitive, which makes precise aiming a bit of a pain for me. I hope I can get used to it, otherwise getting those medals will be ridiculous. On the plus side, the game seems less laggy than on the N64. Aquas was even... playable... >_>

I did okay for red path. At least I remembered all the route triggers. Brain Andross kicked my ass a few times, though. Didn't remember how to get him off your back when he starts chasing you in all-range mode.

Doing 3-heart in Twilight Princess aka easiest Zelda...?

At Snowpeak Ruins now. It's been simple so far. Maybe the late game parts will be more of a challenge 'cause normally I just tank everything. You barely take damage in this, so with 10+ hearts I never worry about much. We'll see later. This time I also have to keep an eye on Pieces of Heart that I might grab by accident... got 3 already. It's my fault for not remembering everything, but yeah, dungeons are scarier for the risk of finding a heart piece so far than because of enemies and stuff.

Got a bunch of optional things, even though I probably won't need half of them... 3 bottles, all 3 bomb bags, most combat skills available up until this point, one arrow quiver upgrade and one wallet upgrade. It's funny how this game suddenly opens when you beat Lakebed. I went from thinking really hard of places that weren't mandatory to keeping track of all the optional stuff in the world. I might get Hawkeye, but meh. Probably not necessary. I won't bother with Magic Armor either, too much work.

The dungeons in this game are great fun IMO. They're not insanely complex like Majora's but not enter-room-kill-thing simple either. Good ideas and good pacing. The overworld is also a blast with Epona. Now if only there was no wolf...
Wow. Good luck not accidentally grabing another heart piece lol

All my irl friends are huge Nintendo fans. They'll probably skin me alive when they hear that I won't be buying TP HD lol

You have a little bit of leeway. In Twilight Princess you need five heart pieces to make a full heart, not four like in every other. You can afford one more.
If you accidentally grab one, can't you just die without saving?
I like turtles.
"I'm doing a three heart run of Twilight Princess."

"Oh neat, how many times have you died?"

"Only once, I had to reload a save because the game gave me too much free health."
Dood Trigger™
Hahaha that's basically it.

You can die without saving? Last time I died (Snowpeak mini-boss... >_>) the game just respawned me at the room before the one where I died. When I got that third heart piece I was at the end of Arbiter's Grounds and I hadn't saved at all there... my fault but yeah.

Oh totally forgot that game didn't have auto saving lol

Just shut down the console if you get a fifth piece
Dood Trigger™
Yeah, that's what I'll do, it's just annoying if it happens near the end of a dungeon, haha. Guess I gotta remember to save often more than anything.

I skipped Temple of Time, at City in the Sky now. This sequence break is so much fun. I really want to learn other skips.

Finished TP 3 heart. That was the easiest 3-heart Zelda (that I've done) by a considerable margin. Pretty much zero danger, but still fun.

I still plan to do this in OoT Master Quest, ALBW and Wind Waker. Too bad you can't do it in A Link to the Past :\

I must have done something really wrong when I played the game. Honestly thought it was kinda difficult - at least I remember that I had troubles in the snowpeak dungeon.

So, Skyrim. I've put 8 hours and then some into the game by now and I'm still not feeling it. Having warmed up somewhat to exploration and talking to NPCs hasn't made the game any better for me. It's all so bland. Maye there's some lore to the dungeons I've been missing because I haven't directly travelled to any of the towns yet, but I doubt a story connection would make those places the least bit more interesting to play through. They all just feel like they're dungeons that are there for the sake of having a dungeon. Not like actual locations. I don't even get any fun out of levelling with only being able to raise HP, MP and stamina. The perks are nice, but I'm really not a fan of all those side jobs that I'm apparently supposed to bother with to build my character. And having to put exhaustible talent points into various armor categories to boost survivability has to be a joke. Like... as if I'd know what kind of armor I'll be wearing at the end of the game and could plan according to that.

And the items in this game are the worst. There's no fun exploring dungeons because you just find the same kind of weapons and armor on every enemy. I sure love stacking my inventory with daggers.

Gonna drop this so I can focus some more on Faery Fencer F. Even that's more fun to play than Skyrim, unfortunately.

You'll be wearing daedric armor if you're going heavy or glass armor if you're going light at the end of the game. You can easily grind out blacksmithing and craft a set of that, and then you'd barely have to pay attention to dungeon loot at all. I don't know if that would help or hurt your experience.

No need to force it in any case, sounds like it just isn't your bag.
Basically the game provides me with 0 incentive to keep playing it.
