Okay, here's some advice for FFT:

1. Tell all the original generic units that you started the game with to take a hike. Seriously, unequip them of all their shit and kick them out of your party. Afterwards, recruit three new generic news into your party, each of whom have Faith and Bravery at least in the mid 60's. You can keep trying to recruit them over and over - there's no charge until you've actually accepted a unit into your party. If you REALLY wanna get ahead of the curve, I suggest getting one male recruit with good compatibility to Ramza's current zodiac sign and two female recruits with the best compatibility to Ramza's zodiac sign. That will give you a nice advantage when it comes to the strength of healing spells and such, but it's not required - especially given how tedious recruiting can be.

2. DON'T GRIND TOO MUCH. Enemies in random battles scale with your party, so you're doing yourself no help by trying to outgrind the story battles. Just bunker down and focus on improving your tactics, not your units' abilities. Furthermore, the game actually gets easier the further you get, barring a few major difficulty spikes (you'll know all too well when they happen), so you really just have to slog through the early game.

3. Have Ramza work towards the Ninja and Samurai jobs for the mid game. It'll pay dividends during a certain castle raid.

4. MAKE SEPARATE SAVE FILES FOR RAIDS. Some parts of the game will force you to fight a series of consecutive battles at one particular locale, between which you're stuck at that place with no way to shop, grind, or what have you. Don't ruin your game by realizing you've entered a raid under-equipped midway through and don't have a save file to fall back on.

A few more general pointers:
- Always attack from the side or back
- Don't use offensive magic in tight spaces if your units are around
- Don't be quick to sell off old equipment - it might be useful for another job or unit
- Have your generic units switch jobs as often as need be

And that's about it! Have fun.

oh yeah I forgot Idk played that game a lot too

you clearly remember it a hell of a lot better than I do. It probably didn't help that I ended up using cheats, I really should play again withought infinite gils

I'm actually also playing a FF game, FF XIV, woo me

I wonder what would be considered the most iconic video game franchise.

It would have to be between Mario, Final Fantasy, and Zelda I bet.
Not impossible
just highly unlikely
...I feel like I might need to restart.

Yeah it's definitely behind that border of when RPGs were gritty and hard and required taking notes and struggling, and the other side where it's hand-holdy fun-fest carnivals.

Did you play FF Tactics Advance? I feel like comparing these two would be perfect examples

I played a couple missions in FFTA and didn't like it much.

It's the much more colorful hand-holdy (while still being a challenge mind you) and light-hearted characterized story thing. They pretty much completely did away with all the struggles of Tactics, but also got rid of the grit that made you a man for conquering it.

But on the topic of Tactics, looking up some tips (although Idk did a fukin gr8 job m8) at least for the beginning would be good, unless you just wanna learn it yourself the old fashioned way

I forgot Sonic as one of those iconic vidya characters. And I guess *sigh* Steve from Minecraft.

I think part of what screwed me over is that I didn't realize how to access shops until a few battles in, and if I try to go back to old shops I have to fight a mess of random encounters. I can't make archers because I can't buy bows where I currently am.

Yeahhhh the only shitty thing about restarting is the tutorial. I think not wanting to start over was one of the reasons I cheated my money up

just highly unlikely
Well I'll give it a few more tries before I throw in and restart.

Are chemists super importiant? They seem super importiant.
Both Squires and Chemists are important but you generally want units to specialize in jobs that branch off from one or the other... Well, initially anyway.
What's the most efficient method to switch spells/weapons in Skyrim? is there another way other than using the favorite shortcut?

idk about pc, there was a quick switch button on consoles though
Playing ZM on the wiiu gamepad offers the best experience of the game to date, imho.  The wiiu gamepad control customizations are the biggest reason. Check it out, it's worth the $7.99 usd.  I don't think I'll play it on another system again.
Would be nice if there was such a thing on PC. Something that would me let swap a magic skill and shield with just one press of a button.
hmm..you would think pc would have more options, not less.
I like turtles.

I had the opposite reaction - couldn't even make it up the first vertical shaft in Brinstar with the gamepad buttons, which felt incredibly bulky and laggy.
That stinks.  I was playing really fast and it felt effortless.
Playing Aria of Sorrow on the gamepad was pretty great.

ryu when you have your favorites open you can press 1-9 on them to bind them to that key
So that's still 2 presses. And probably not really doable with weapon switching because the game wouldn't know which hand w/o me clicking left or right
Club 27 Goals
What? bind them to a key, then just press that key when you want to use it. One press
????

Guess I'll just have to test it out next time I play
Thanks
