oh yeah he said he got the guppy achievement from that room from randomly shuffling Guppy pieces, so that's pretty sweet too haha
Club 27 Goals
but yeah those rooms can be either totally devastating or super fuckin rad
oooohhhh...I think I've found one of those rooms before, and I teleported out of it and had no idea why.  One of the things it gave me could have been something that teleports you?  I don't remember which room I teleported to, but my stuff was different and I didn't know why.  It's all coming together!  lol

I'm not sure how many hours I've spent in the game but it seems like the content is endless.  I have tons of characters unlocked that I haven't even tried, plus all the challenges.  I wish it was easier to get info about items and their effects IN-GAME instead of having to keep platinumgod's cheat sheet on my phone.

And I hate the ??? on the pills. Some of the pills really have a negative effect, and some of them have an incredibly positive effect.  I hate gambling like that, esp when I'm far into the run.  I know there are items that improve this, but I wish I didn't need to have those items, I wish it was the default.
I also don't understand why I almost never get an angel room.  I think I've only gotten an angel room twice.  I read that the chance between angel/devil room appearing is 50/50, but seems more like 5/95

Yeah that was always sort of an on-going criticism about the game, not knowing what the upgrades really are. Risk of Rain is like that as well, but for the hardcore fans, that's sort of just a staple in those tpyes of game
Club 27 Goals
oh also as for angel/devil rooms, if you get any items that say "evil up" then it increases the chance of getting a devil room. There are far more items that give "evil up" than there are that give "faith up" (for angel rooms)

and also if you make any deals in the devil it significantly increases the chance of getting more devil rooms

Played some more of Alien: Crouch Adventures.

The Alien is *really* smart, annoyingly so sometimes. Lots of areas where he would track me down as if he had his own pocket radar. Using the same distraction too many times, like an alarm, or abusing a hiding spot will make the Alien adapt and start ignoring that distraction, or he'll check your favorite hiding spots first. I can generally hide well from him as long as I can physically detect his position (which the Motion Detector helps with), and the game is fair about the Alien never teleporting across the map to instantly appear behind you or anything like that. But he can still get to any point of the room super fast, and my first reaction when I panic is to crouch-walk like a baby and hope I can make a beeline to the next part. I gotta give credit to the game because these moments really are damn scary.

I should try using more distractions (a bigger variety of them) because the game clearly wants you to outsmart the enemies instead of just recognizing patrol patterns. The Alien doesn't have a pattern at all, he pretty much does whatever he wants. But there are plenty of rooms where androids (the game's basic enemies) are blocking the exit, and you're like eeeeh why don't I just power through with weapons... but that's rarely the best idea because any noise will attract the Alien. The Alien is *always* lurking, and he's an insta kill, and he's much faster than you, so if he sees you, you can pretty much add another death to the tally (at least until this point... apparently you can find a flamethrower later to scare him away for a few moments, but from what I've read he will adapt to that as well).

Still, I would definitely recommend this game so far. I don't get scared playing games very often, and this game is legit scary. Just bring some extra patience because you will spend most of it crouching and looking at the radar.
So pissed. Went into the Mom's heart fight with a full heart jar and a sun card, thinking it would be cake.  I died!  I didn't realize that I had to activate the stupid heart jar, I thought it would automatically refill my hearts.  FUCK!!!

Food, my friend bought me that game for Christmas to face my childhood fears of Alien. I saw the movie when I was a kid and I'm pretty sure it gave me PTSD. I get scared pretty easily in games, even Sky rim and fallout had scary moments.

And yeah Opium th at rough :( it's part of the fun of learning the items though! :D
Lol I replayed and died again.  I activated the heart jar when I got to 1/2 a heart, but I didn't know it scattered the hearts everywhere and made you pick them up.  Shit!  lol

But did you play it? Holy shit, I don't get scared easily in games, but this is insane. Haha.

Honestly I haven't fired it up yet. My buddy is making me feel bad for not playing the game he got me, so he bought all the DLC and then bought the season pass for me too.

I'm going to play it during the day tomorrow
Alien sounds interesting, but now that I have a full time job there's hundreds of games I'd much rather play in my limited spare time.

Maybe someday I'll feel like playing it anyways though.

Just beat Resident Evil Revelations on 3DS. It is pretty dang fun and looks fantastic. It's probably my second favorite RE after 4, despite some extremely annoying swimming sections and an end boss that's more aggravating than difficult thanks to not being designed around the controls well.

I played on my new New 3DS and that nub stick is weird to get used to. It's great to be able to move and aim at the same time, but if you don't have your thumb in just the right way and aren't using just the right pressure, you're going to be fighting the camera more than zombies. I got a handle on it more or less by the end, but I can't say I wouldn't have prefered a second circle pad instead. To be fair though, RER is apparently notorious for not being very responsive with the N3DS nub. It might be better in other games.

I play Revelations on the original 3DS with the tank control scheme. Never have a problem, but I'm pretty used to it. Glad you enjoyed the game, I think it's great too. There are other REs that I prefer over it, but it is a solid effort and I always have a great time playing through it.

Finished Alien. It definitely overstays its welcome a bit. Every mission fails at the last moment, and the game puts you through a lot of samey tasks. Eventually I just started following the Motion Tracker blindly to the next terminal/generator. But it's okay, still a lot of tension everywhere. Gameplay-wise I did fine because I saved all the Flamethrower distracting for the end. I used it 7-8 times and the Alien was still easily scared by the flames at the last ones.

That was a kickass experience. I wouldn't even mind if they replaced Alien 3 with this in the series canon. Scariest game in a long time for sure. It's not the kind of game that I'm dying to replay because, well, it's long and intense and you play it very slowly. It'll probably be a while before I revisit this. But I loved it.

I also beat the DLC where you're on the Nostromo. You can play as Ripley, Dallas and Parker I think. They have the original actors' voices which is pretty cool. But other than the excitement of being aboard the Nostromo, it's kind of a lame DLC. The thing lasts 15 minutes (wish I was exaggerating) and there's a super frustrating section where you have to navigate inside an air shaft with the Alien in there as well. Glad I didn't pay for this... >_>

Still can't get over how woefully unbalanced the new Battlefront is, mostly vis-a-vis matchmaking and vehicles.  The scope of the maps, sound design, and many of the mechanics are cool, but I do kind of wish they had polished it a bit more.

And included space combat.
Tried Demon's Souls for a few hours.  I can't tell if I like it or not, because after several hours I still can't figure out what my goal is.  I have no idea where I'm supposed to be going or what I'm supposed to be trying to do.  I can handle being completely overwhelmed by the subscreens (I have no idea what 90% of it means), but I can't stand not having any idea why I'm even playing.

I started in the tutorial, naturally.  I got to some huge boss who killed me after a minute or so, and I ended up the nexus.  I then touched some stone and go to some palace.  I played in the palace forever, and died a few times, making sure to touch my bloodstain each time I replayed, but where am I supposed to go?  It seems to go on forever, and I don't even know if this is where I'm supposed to be, or what will happen if I turn it off.  I ended up feeling full of doubt as to whether or not I was wasting my time so I returned to the nexus by using some item I looted.  Now I'm back in the nexus with all the souls I earned but the only thing I can do is go back to that palace.  Am I even doing this right?  I fucking hate rpg's.

Fans of the Souls series will tell you that the game's not holding your hand and that's the entire reason it's great.

I'll just tell you that if you're not a fan of that now it's probably only going to get worse.

I don't need my hand held, I'm just trying to grasp how the game works.  I'm not dying excessively, I just have no idea what the goal of the game is.  Who/what/where kind of thing.

I really like the combat so far.  I love the fact that there's three different things I can do with blocking. Having a blast fighting, just have no idea what my goal is.

It will literally tell you nothing. Even basic mechanics are left to you to discover for yourself. Never played the game myself, but I'm aware of that much.
