Yeah it's cool, but I got to the end of a really hard level and it totally froze.  Pissed.

So I freeze in the same spot every time.  Made 5 attempts.  Sucks because I like this game.  Really wish it worked, though.

Been playing a lot of NES lately, mostly childhood games I've been meaning to replay. Plus some stuff I only got to try recently.

I beat Zelda 2 again, this time without a guide! Felt pretty good. That was only the second time I beat this. I still suck at the final palace or whatever it's called, but I made it. This game is really fun when I'm not banging my head against the wall with the cryptic stuff.

poision sounds like you're right on and that guy doesn't know what he's talking about. from everything i've heard about the game, the combat is super complex and interesting, and the game is fucking huge
Not impossible
just highly unlikely
It reminds me of this guy who was saying Shadow of Mordor sucks because the combat system (which is basically Arkham combat) allowed him to win fights even with the monitor turned off. Except he was on the easiest difficulty with a fully levelled end game character fighting a mob of basic enemies without a chieftain, which are the main focus of the game, and the combat is designed to be rythmic. You can prove anything you want if you tip the scales that much.
red chamber dream
yeah people are dumb. i've never understood the whole "gameplay is king" thing anyway though, so i can't really relate

like to me the combat in a game like witcher is a tiny, tiny part of the game, almost insignificant in terms of how much i might enjoy the game
Club 27 Goals
yeah the thing that was justified was the complaint about movement, however even before the patch fixing it it seems like he took it way out of hand. It definitely was a little clunky and felt liek you were trying to drive a tank, but it never was frustrating to that extent.

Pretty sure it was just youtube-click-bait controversy-vid hating on something popular #179
Hey, it could be worse. It could be a Polygon article complaining about everyone being white.
red chamber dream
dude polygon is the worst lol
red chamber dream
all of the verge too really
Club 27 Goals
hey man porygon was pretty rad in the originals
red chamber dream
yea except for tri-attack mirite
Eh, sites like that only ever got big because people got sick of shills at IGN and GameSpot writing a bunch of disingenuous reviews to keep developers and publishers from pulling ads.
red chamber dream
i don't think ign ever did that, dunno about gamespot though

doubt they did either
Nah, GameSpot had a couple of people admitting to it.
red chamber dream
ah ok, well that doesn't surprise me

i really don't think ign does though
red chamber dream
they're open about their deals with publishers
People just bring up games like God Hand for having awful reviews when it comes to IGN.
Well, that and the whole "too much water" joke from more recent times.
red chamber dream
i think those are just ignorant people who don't understand that "ign" is just a bunch of individual editors with different tastes
red chamber dream
only one person reviews any given game, and that's true for most sites
red chamber dream
people get wayyyy too caught up in review scores, which don't matter at all ... actually read what's written in the review and you might be able to determine whether you'll like the game
No, the God Hand review is genuinely awful... Like, there's a bunch of typos in it, IIRC.
red chamber dream
yeah, well that's old ign which sucked

and i mean i know ign still has a bunch of terrible punctuation or whatever but what site doesn't these days
Either way, IGN actually has a fairly decent rep nowadays.
