Finished Katamari Damacy with 1108 objects (77%) and a 727m PB.

Jeez, that final level...! I was rolling clouds, islands, giant monsters, superheroes (!) and even a freaking volcano into the katamari. That was really sweet. Pity I couldn't get 800m for Eternal 3, that was sooo close.

Hardest level to me was Make a Star 9. I failed that one twice, and it sucks 'cause losing there means you just wasted 18 minutes. =\ But my mistake was going to the 12m barrier too soon, I think. I couldn't pick up a lot of the big items on the islands with the industries and tall buildings, so it was almost like I didn't have those areas unlocked.

I did pretty well on the North Star challenge for my first attempt: 9m42cm. I remembered that the palm trees require about 7.5m to pick up, and then I tried to sort of guess the rest. But I wonder if you have to get 10m precisely or if there's a leeway. Getting 10m exactly sounds brutal.

Loved the game. Really fun and relaxing. The music is beautiful, everything's full of charm and personality, and there's just something about rolling the katamari and watching it get bigger and bigger that feels so satisfying. Still not a fan of the controls, but at least the game is easy for the most part.

I will try and get those Eternal levels eventually. I actually got pretty close in all three requirements, so maybe next time!

That number of objects you got is kind of scary.  That number is evil, I won't say it or type it.  If you see it, look away!

Still playing Axiom Verge. I have so many things to figure out but I don't want to use a guide.  There was this one room where I shot my disruptor ray on the wall and it made a phrase appear in the upper right corner of the screen briefly.  I typed the phrase into my translator and it made a door appear.  I wonder if there are other areas like this?  I also walked through a couple of false walls.  One of them led to a power up and the other one made the whole screen glitch out and took me to an area of the map that had no name.  It's so rewarding when I find those things on my own that I don't want to cheat.  About 80% through now.

The story is also way deeper than I ever imagined it to be.  It's not making 100% sense yet, but I would bet money that Tom Happ was inspired by the book Imajica by Clive Barker.  You can see the influence of that story in this story, just like you can see the influence of H.R. Giger in his art style.  Maybe that's why I love this game so much: metroid, clive barker, HR Giger - those are all some of my favorite things in the world.

Witcher 3 has consumed my soul. The world is HUGE, but in a very good way. Quests have a ton of variety, and the interesting dialogue and ambiguous moral choices with real consequences have not been sacrificed by opening the world up. Just solid stuff all around. My one gripe is the clunky underwater controls, which have got me killed a few times.

There's a card game called Gwent within the game, and my god is it addicting. It's a little complicated to explain, but very easy to get the hang of. You have to build up your deck by buying cards from merchants or beating people. It ends up getting me sidetracked more often than anything else.

i've heard some people say it's better than hearthstone lol

I have not played hearthstone, but I will still agree with that assessment.

If they release a multiplayer mode and/or mobile app for it, it would just destroy all.
Almost happy

The glitched areas are pretty interesting. As far as I know their location are entirely randomized for each playthrough (although maybe there are a limited amount of possible locations and possible number of occurrences per playthrough). Apparently if you get lucky you can find a special weapon there but I found 3 glitched areas and never got it. It doesn't count towards 100% though.

Yeah I've been enjoying Witcher 3 a ton. Took me a while to get into it because of the amount of stuff you have to learn in the beginning but ever since I progressed in the story a bit and got to the second area I've really gotten sucked in. All the characters and dialog is great, combat was initially frustrating but became really fun once I started to learn it properly and the quest design is the best I've ever experienced and an open world RPG. I told myself when I started playing that I would mostly keep to the main quest but most of the sidequests I've done have been really interesting. I'll still try not to do too many though for the sake of my sanity. I'd extend the gripe about underwater controls to general movement though. Outside of combat or straight up running Geralt handles a bit like a drunkard, I think the main problem is that his movement has way to much  momentum when moving around in close quarters.

Also I'm not gonna get into Gwent. I played two games and I think that was enough. It might be fun if I put more time into it but the game is enough of a time sink as it is :P

The first time I entered that glitched area I thought my game had crashed.  It's interesting that it changes location for each playthrough.  I really want that weapon, whatever it is.

I finished Axiom Verge last night with 97% map coverage and 90% items.  Now I'm just combing the map looking for hidden things that I missed.  I just noticed that in the upper right corner of each area map there are two dots, one yellow and one purple.  The yellow one means you found all items in the area, the purple one means you have uncovered the entire map for that area.  I wish I would have noticed those dots before I spent an hour needlessly combing a completed area. Right now I think I have 15 weapons, some of which are so fucking cool.  It just pains me that the game is over and I don't have much use for them at this point.

The ending was bizarre, and I'm assuming there are multiple endings.  I guess I will find out when I kill the final boss again after having 100%.  The story itself is kind of deep, and I don't completely understand it.  I did cheat and look up the passcodes to open two of the hidden doors, as well as the passcode to translate most of the notes I found. I was hoping that if I was able to read the notes then the story would make total sense, but they weren't any help.  I could read about the story online but I'm trying to figure it out on my own for now.

Also, JUSTIN BAILEY is one of the passcodes.  It lets you play the game in the red leotard from original metroid.  *giggle*
Holy crap finally got 100% in Axiom Verge.  Those last 4-5 items were insane.  Can't wait to replay.  I think I need a better controller though because the D-pad on my logitech controller is getting worn out.  You have to double-tap in a direction to glitch-dash, and this move is essential if you want to speed run the game.  I've also noticed that there are control differences between the PS4 and Steam versions that make a big difference if you want to speedrun.  The steam ver doesn't let you do quick-switch weapons the same way as PS4, and also in steam you can't launch your drone repeatedly because they added a cool-down feature to it.  If you try to launch it again right away you just hear a thunk sound and have to wait another second or so.  This made getting the last item very hard.
I think just about anyone who enjoyed speedrunning the 2D metroid games would also enjoy this game.  I can't wait to memorize the whole fucking map.
Almost happy
You can get cancel the cooldown by firing the disruptor/drill. A bit tricky at first but once you get the rythm down it's pretty easy. Makes for potentially extremely quick movement once you have the upgraded drone launcher. I could quick-switch between 3 weapons at least on the steam version (with a ps3 controller), so I think its fine.
Good to know about the drone launcher, thanks.  Every example I've seen or read about involved the PS4 ver so I made an assumption.
How do you quick switch on Steam ver?
Almost happy
Well as I said I used a PS3 controller (technically emulated as a 360 controller) and i think the standard bindings had quick sawp to 1 on the left analog stick button and 2 on the right, and if you equip a 3rd weapon that isn't quickbound you can switch back to that by pressing either analog stick again.
Almost happy
On a keyboard I think you can quick-swap between 10 different weapons using 0-9 but I wouldn't want to use a keyboard for that game.

My controller has every feature that a PS3 controller has.  Maybe I'm just retarded and can't figure it out.

EDIT:  There it right there in the controller options. I feel stupid now.  I've never clicked either joystick before.  I definitely need a new controller though.  The B button and dpad are both worn out, and the joysticks practically fall over just from gravity. This is my older gamepad, the one I used to use on SM hacks.  It's seen a good number of hours.

while i think it's great, stick clicking is like the worst ui design ever ... no affordance at all lol

wonder how many people don't realize it's possible even though console games have used it for over a decade
I have a game somewhere that actually requires you to click both sticks at once to do something.  I can't remember which game, but what a terrible idea.

what i hate most are shooters where you click the stick to crouch, but you have to keep it held down

so you're trying to move the stick while pressing it, and it really sucks lol
Ugh I have a game like that too but I can't remember which one.  Halo?  My thumb can't deal with that.

I think I'm going to pick up a Logitech F310 controller after work.  It sounds like it's exactly what I need.
I hate Xbox controllers, and I'm having a hard time getting steam to recognize my PS3 controller.  I did download DS3 tool and all, but I can't figure it all out.

Hold to crouch is bad, hold to run is worse. Smart developers make both a toggle.
red chamber dream
ah it may have been run i was thinking of

i forget but i think it was the first resistance game that did that? so annoying. and there was no way to change it to a toggle.
Ha I just figured out why I was craving the Honeycomb cereal I added to my shopping list the other day:

hahaha

i would probably be craving it too, damn that's hella honeycomb

postponing Witcher 3 once again because I'm incredibly sick, and any time I get really into a game while I'm sick as soon as I'm over being sick I have no urge to play it cause it just subliminally reminds me of how I felt when I was sick.

I've been getting the urge to play pokemon again, but dammit I don't want to play the new one. I just want to play Red/Blue but with modern graphics /dying
